Hanzo eats the snake he cooked over the open fire warming his body on this cool night. After he finishes he lays out his bedroll and lays between the building and the fire so any heat reflected back helps to keep him warm throughout the night. As he lays there he thinks back to the kiss Briar gave him in the cheek, (Hanzo speaking to himself in his thoughts)“Innocent I’m sure, but it felt nice. She is quite pretty, even with those ragged clothes and messy hair. And her eyes remind me of the skies I’ve seen in my dreams, not like the ones above us on this island. I wonder if she’s as friendly with the others we have with us now. I’m still unsure about them, best to keep my eye on them as we travel, especially the fish man, and angry dwarf they could be trouble. Folks who need to be pampered aren’t the best to be traveling dirt paths with, and those with a short temper can do more harm than good in a group like this...” Hanzo drifts off to sleep...
Briar not seeing anyone about makes her way to the inn's barkeeper and in a very respectful and polite manner speaks to him, "greetings kind sir, I am 'Briar'. Part of a group... 'Ducolis' traveling with two handsome but boisterous dwarves and a half-elf I believe wearing a lice-infested rat-skin cloak of some sort. Anyway, I wish to inquire if they happened to secure a private room for me as they had led me to believe? My apologies for taking up your valuable time, if there has been a miscommunication of some sort I can be on my way then and trouble you no more. Thank you?" She stands back patiently, smiling looking about the rather lavish, spacious and well-appointed interior of the place... very much impressed.

The bartender takes one look at your squalid appearance, "Ha! nice try beggar! I can assure you that nobody here has purchased a private room for one such as yourself. Now get out of here before people start to think we are running a charity."
"She can stay in my room!" Squeaks the familiar voice of Alvyn. "There's bunk beds and an extra pillow and blanket."
The Wolf offers Miri a brief smile. "I was just wondering, are there many... servants here? Like that young gnome?"
*Miri* @The White Wolf
"He is not a servant so to speak, though my brother sometimes treats him as such. He is paid for his work, his meals are free, and he even has his own room here at the inn.", She explains. "Why do you ask?"
The Wolf smiles grimly. "I am glad to hear he is not a slave. But why do you say he is not a servant?" Room and board with some meager pay, and treated like dirt? - sounded like a servant to him.

Briar takes his words in stride not the least bit fazed... and merely bows humbly and respectfully before him responding in a much lower voice, "thank you m'lord, my mistake entirely. I shan't trouble you further."
"She can stay in my room!" Squeaks the familiar voice of Alvyn. "There's bunk beds and an extra pillow and blanket."
The Hedge Witch turns hearing a familiar voice and smiles at young Alvyn, "oh my dear sweet one, that is extremely kind of you to offer... but this noble gentleman is totally correct, an establishment of this caliber cannot be seen offering refuge even in its servants quarters to street-trash such as myself. I do much appreciate your offer, thank you though."Briar moves up to the child and kisses him on the cheek and slips a single silver coin into the palm of his hand and whispers, "for your trouble, spend it on something nice for yourself or keep it to remember me by, good luck to you little lordling, may the gods favor you with wisdom."
Turning back to barkeeper Briar politely offers him a final respectful bow, turns and makes her way out the front door the way she came in.
Hanzo drifts off to sleep...
Once outside in the fresh air the raggedy Hedge Witch once again catches sight of Hanzo still in the same spot as before but now appears to be sleeping and heads quickly towards him projecting her thoughts with her awakened mind to silently rouse him. 'Wake up my handsome sapphire savior, they've all gone and toddled off to their soft luxurious beds if you are in agreement and still don't trust them, we could take this opportunity to slip off into the night and continue on our journey just the two of us?'
If Hanzo is in agreement the pair of them can leave immediately, right at that moment as quickly as he can gather up his things. If Hanzo prefers not to do this Briar will smile at him and climb inside his bedroll next to him. Just as friends and to keep each other warm in the chill of the night! Leaving all three decisions to him, if the last does not appeal then she will shrug and go back to the stable and nice pile of hay...
The Wolf smiles grimly. "I am glad to hear he is not a slave. But why do you say he is not a servant?" Room and board with some meager pay, and treated like dirt? - sounded like a servant to him.
She ponders, "Hmm, well then I suppose one could call him a servant, but he chooses to work here on those terms. Free to go at any time. My brother may be tough on him, but then again my brother is tough on most people who are not of pure elven decent... Even I am treated like a lesser being simply because I am only half elf."
Hanzo quickly wakens to the sound of Briars voice in his mind, he smiles at his friend. “What happened? What’s made you change your mind? I thought you were sharing a room with one of them? I still do not trust them, but regardless we must rest or we will be no good to each other in the morning. What if bandits attack while we walk along the road and we're exhausted? Best to rest now and leave in the morning with or without the rest of them.”
(if Briar is asking to sleep with him in his bedroll he will go along with it opening it for her, if she isn’t asking he just waits for her reply lol)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The White Wolf stands silent for several moments. Eventually, he bows his head and murmurs, "I shouldn't keep you from your duties for my own curiosity. Thank you for your time."
He turns to follow Ducolis into the room, then hesitates. "If there should be a need..." He offers up his hand and red-thread-bound wrist to Miri. "I would offer what services I can provide. Good evening."
After which,
"Thank you, have a lovely evening." Ducolis says to the woman. After which he gently pushes the white wolf along into the room with him. "Hey, I have seen that you are willing to help and I appreciate that. You are also the only one who so far hasnt insulted me or judged me by my scales. So I want to ask you to help me. I would like to know about what is beyond the barrier if there is even anything. For this we need to find the man who burned the guards you healed at the market. This man could be dangerous and hurt more people and you seem to be able to restore wounds, an abilty very useful in this situation and you also seem to be lost. So would you like to help me? I'll give you some time to think about it for now you can just to it easy in this room. I still need to give the dwarves their key." and with that Ducolis will head downstairs and see if he can find the dwarfs.
The White Wolf stands silent as Ducolis makes his request. He bows his head in acknowledgement and thanks as the triton leaves.
After listening to the silence for a few moments, the Wolf raises his head and takes a look around the room.
Briar projects her thoughts, 'I am willing to risk it, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but let's say I have had a change of heart and less inclined to trust them. Why would I share a room with several total male strangers, the barkeep at the inn already thinks I am a beggar and sent me on my way. So if I had spent the night with more than one man in one of their rooms... they all would be calling me a whore?'
'We have been honest and upfront with each other and we know where we both stand in regard to the old man but what are their motives, did they tell us? No! Do you think if we waited till morning that they would be willing to wave goodbye to us and let us be on our merry way? In the daylight, they will just follow us and use us to lead them straight to the old man. What if they mean to harm or kill him! What then, how will find my sister then?'
Briar lays her head down against Hanzo, 'you know best if you want to wait till morning, alright I trust you. If we leave now we could be well ahead of them, we handled the snake, we could handle a few bandits don't you think?'
Hanzo’s heart quickens as Briar lays her head against him “I’m sorry they think you’re a beggar, and if anyone calls you a whore you point me in their direction and I’ll straighten them out. We have been honest with eachother, and that’s why I can’t trust them yet, we know nothing about them. Even if we leave now they’ll still be following us, at least this way we can keep an eye on them in case they try something funny. Well rested we could handle anything together I’m sure *smiles*, but exhausted I’m not sure, if you stay awake too long the mind can play tricks on you. And if they happened to catch up to us while exhausted that could be very bad. If they try and attack once we reach the old man it will be three against four and I like those odds better. We rest now and see what the morning brings, don’t let them upset you, you must find your center or be easily toppled.” Hanzo puts an arm over Briar and gives her a good squeeze to help her feel a bit safer and more at ease.
Briar nods and silently climbs inside the bedroll with Hanzo to spend the night there together... to get some sleep and wait until morning comforted by his strong arms around her.

The room is illuminated by the single window between two beds, which shows a magical image of the all too familiar Light Giver. It gleamed a soft silvery essence, and the Sky Ocean behind it glimmered with the sparkle of waves cresting farther than the eye could see, reflecting the Light Giver's gleam back at such a distance they were but tiny specks of silver dust scattered on the black backdrop. The beds made of oak, but atop them lay soft cotton stuffed mattresses covered by large colorful fleece blankets decorated in evlish symbolic artwork, and cotton stuffed pillows with silk pillowcases. Above each bed, is a bookshelf, home to assorted books of elven fairy tales, instructional guides, and holy books. Beneath the window is a chest made of the same oak as the beds, and you notice the lock glows the same color as your key did before.
