Arlo will hold his action, as he is unsure if it is a friend or foe. He does back away to place Agamemnon between him & the strange creature. "Acquaintance of yours?", he asks Agamemnon as he moves.
Agememnon does not revel in the glory of the kill as do his fellow barbarians. Rather, he kneels down and with a cold efficiency begins to inspect the thing.
You realize that this... was a crew mate. It was corrupted in some way but you knew this guy. not much on him other than a salt-soaked tunic and scales all over his body. there are some barnacles around his eyes and he has no pupils
"This is indeed odd, I don't know much of water creatures but bad things like this rarely are a one time ocurrence, we need to alert the rest of the crew and have someone inspect them, maybe someone else is...for a lack of a better word infected" Can I check the room? I'm trying to find a trail of barnacles, salt water.
"There are grim forces at work here." Agememnon growls. "There will be a reckoning, and I the judge and executioner." So saying, he hefts his seaweed-decorated greatsword and returns to the deck.
"It appears you are down a man." He says to the captain. "I suggest you double the watch."
Arlo summons Nico to his side. "Stay close my old friend. Something is not right here.", he confers telepathically. Arlo suggests that we speak further with the sailor who initially saw the infected crew mate & the captain.
Arkos, you don't see anything out of ordinary for a ship.
"What happened below deck? what 'Monster' was there." the captain asks the group in a mocking manner.
Arlo talks to the crew-mate but can't seem to get anymore out of him other then "The beast! please kill it! kill it now!" (you'd need a persuasion check to find out more.)
"Sure captain, the man is still there, covered in a salt-soaked tunic and scales all over his body. No pupils and barnacles around his eyes, I'm sure an experienced seafarer like yourself had heard tales of this before, maybe disease or a curse of some sort"
"well. I've not seen anything much like it. Looks like a work of some disease." he pauses for moment readjusting his shirt. "we'll port in a few minutes. wind picked up quite a bit." He saunters up to the deck.

((I'm working right now, so in the interest of time I'll post my action considering that I'm not the last one to act))
If the area is dark, I'll use dancing lights sending 1 light to the center of the room, 1 near me and the other two on the farthest corners.
If not, Arkos will extend one finger and attack with a Ray of Frost throwing a dart like frigid blast. Attack: 17 Damage: 8

Agememnon glares at the captain silently, towering over the man with all of his 6'4" height and bulging muscles.
" The 'monster' is the result of the transference of aquatic animal genes into a human. It is not a pleasant sight, I assure you. "

"there are more down there!?!?" Arlo has successfully frightened a man.
"may we see the body?" the captain responds.
"Sure captain, the man is still there, covered in a salt-soaked tunic and scales all over his body. No pupils and barnacles around his eyes, I'm sure an experienced seafarer like yourself had heard tales of this before, maybe disease or a curse of some sort"
"well... no. This is my first time sailing here. it might be something about the islands that did it. please show us the body."
"I can walk you there, I don''t think that touching the corpse is a good idea"
Arlo is crestfallen that he has further frightened the poor man. "Excuse me, friend.", he says as he follows the captain & Arkos.
