Keegik lies curled up by the fire, soaking up the heat. The scrawny Kobold is wrapped in a shabby orange stitched-up robe that is much too big for him, and has a large ornate book tied to his back using a bit of string. The dancing fire reflects off of his orange-yellow scales and ivory horns, and he rolls over on his back, letting off a low growling sound that could be compared to a purr. He sits up as the biscuits are passed around, and yanks one off the platter with his tail and drops it into his mouth. A pitch black raven hops over to him and flaps itself up to his shoulder. He snaps his fingers, and a spectral raven's claw snatches another biscuit from the plate. He breaks it in half and hands one half to the raven, who quickly snaps it up. He places the other half in one of his many cloak pockets, and a pair of little pink claws snatches it, accompanied by a pair of white whiskers and a tiny pink nose. The little mouse nibbles at the biscuit as Keegik gently strokes it with his claw.
Some things everyone might know about Keegik:(keeping it short 'cause I'm late)
He's a coward
He loves animals
He's a bit of a hoarder
He's overly trusting.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
"Mechanus. Plane of the Modrons, Inevitables, and Fomoriians. Technical starting point of the march. Gravity disconcerting to the uninitiated. Everything moves in tune. Don't step out of line. Illusions do not properly function there, if I recall correctly. Still awaiting on word of material samples. One hundred more years to go until permission granted. Governers home." Yolov rambled off as he brought the performance to a close. He never once took his attention off the juggling after having narrowly mistimed or misjudged the angle of his throws.
Even when it came to putting an end to the performance, Yolov doesn't let his focus waver easily, or ends it without at least some flare to it. He bends and shifts so that coin and vial to fall into the appropriate pockets, and the dagger in a sheathe. Though for the footstool, he had to grab onto full on, nearly falling over in the process. After donning his backpack he says cheerfully, "Ready to go!"

Mordecai grumpily huffs, but nods all the same. He licks his lips, "I don't think we're going to be staying there long, unless something goes terribly wrong. In which case, I assume you'll be finding new candidates for the circle. Still, we're not going to be any more ready than we are. Let's get going."
Valentine stands up and looking at the strange apparatus of Machanus as she still chewing some biscuits, she listen carefully to everyone's information about the place, looking over at Keegik and Mordekai for a minute and then smiles. '' This will be great! i look forward to see this place! ''

Mordenkainen looks to Yolov, "It appears your studying has paid off. Yes, illusion magic is not a school that is welcome in Mechanus."The archwizard looks to Warx. "Your specialist training, however, should compensate for such issues." Mordenkainen then reaches into the sleeve of his robe and produces a medallion with an octagonal shape, apparently made of some sort of silver. "Once your mission is complete, activate this medallion and I shall recall you. Remember, this work is to be done discretely. We do not want to upset the balance moreso than these entropic creatures will have. Discovering their identities and learning how to deal with them will also be part of your training, so consider it part of your test."
Mordenkainen then raises his hands and weaves intricate arcane sigils. Beside him a portal rips through the cosmos, creating a pathway that connects The Octagonal Tower to another plane of existance. "Since you are ready, step forth. You should arrive within a mile of the last known location of your target. Remember to keep your wits, and that your training will assist you in all your trials."
Warx receives the news about Illusion magic with a grim look, and a slight nod. "Guess I'll just have to rely on my other talents." he grumbles. Making a final fire dragon erupt from the fireplace and fly around the room, Warx jumps through the portal to begin the adventure.
The party leaves the confines of The Octagonal Tower, the first time that they have since first being recruited by Mordenkainen, and find themselves stepping into a mystical tunnel. Walking through the group finds there is light at the end of this strange ethereal tube as they step out onto what appears to be a huge metallic floor. Ahead of them they can see over an enormous drop there are enormous teethed wheels, each of them a vast city as they interlink with countless more beside them.
The tunnel disappears behind the party as they see that they are not too far away from what appears to be a town entirely made out of steel. Flying overhead are several circular constructs with long gangly arms and legs, kept aloft by almost angel-like wings. They seem to completely ignore the party's sudden appearance, obviously busy doing something else.
Valentine chuckles light-hearted as she follows right behind Warx, arcane magic flickers in her fingers as she point them at the others. '' So this is it!~ Look how beautiful it looks like! Ahhh, So much metal everywhere..were too!? were to!? ~ '' As she bump into Yolov and look around with eagerness and excitement.

Coseris looks wide eyed in amazement at the vast city of mechanical cogs and gears, the only other thing hes seen like this is the watches, clocks and other tinker toys a member of the local guild would build. Nothing of this magnitude. He pulls from one pocket a small notebook and pencil and starts to feverishly sketch his surroundings.
"Its beautiful...the stories I've read do not do justice of being here in person." He finishes his sketch puts his items away and follows the group,
"yes we should first find out what these beings are we need to seek out. But also need to keep distance from interfering with the locals"

Mordenkainen did inform the group that they would be placed within 1 mile of the last known location. If anyone would like to give some searching a go (such as a survival check, or using some Divination), then feel free to!
Mordecai approaches one of the nearby metallic walls. "Fascinating work. They've kept the temper even, with not even the slightest hint of artificial shaping or forging. It looks like machines, but these things were not made in the way we normally think of it." He steps back, surveying the area for signs of permissible egress from the area, or for signs of decay, misplaced or malfunctioning machines, or less used byways through which non-metallics might creep unnoticed.
As soona as the group had made it to the other side, Yolov had taken to staring above the group, and muttering to himself again. Mostly numbers to what sounded like coordinates. In time he even closed his eyes as if attempting to focus in on something. If he heard the adulation or excitement of his peers, he doesn't react to it. Same for the bump from Valentine. "Not inconceivable." He says just as othes seem ready to move on.
"Only avoid the metal ones. Metal locals. Especially the one-eyed, spherical ones. Very focused, as we should be."Yolov flashes an goofy grin as he pulls on his suspenders. As he lets it snap into place, a shell of force shimmers into being materialize, perfectly conforming to his form more than usual before vanishing from sight. "Valentine. If you wish, I shall insist upon assisting with any divination you wish to perform to narrow things down. Like a focusing lens, of a sorts. Hopefully if extra planar there will be enough lingering energy emissions from said creatures for us to hone in on between our two focus, yes?"
(Nut shell, Yolov is offering to use the Help action to grant valentine advantage if need be.)
Valentine is always amazed by her fellow wizards as well, brightly smiles at Yolov and almost jumping in excitement, she sees this as a opportunity for things. ''EEEEE!~ Yes yes yes! Indeed! That's really amazing, Yolov! Oh... what kind of spell!? ~ ''
She unchain her tome from her hip as she flips it open and look inside searching for a spell that could come useful, begin mumbling to herself. '' ...True Strike, Guidance... Identify...hmm.. ''

Warx exits the portal and moves a few feet away so he doesn’t get knocked over by the others as they come through. Mulling over the news that Illusion magic does not work properly here, he attempts to case a small Minor Illusion of an apple in his hand. It fades into existence, shimmers for a moment, then fades out again. ‘Hmmm, will have to practice more in this place to make them work ‘ he thinks to himself. Then he turns back to see the last of the group come through the portal, and the portal itself close.
