Ludweg is an only child born to a group of scientists on the planet Duro. While Duro is his homeworld, he spent his childhood and adolescence traveling with his parents on research expeditions. At a young age Ludweg learned how to pilot spacecraft, and navigate the depths of space. It was just something that came naturally to him. Being introduced to science at a young age, Ludweg became very interested in every aspect of science. He started working with his parents and eventually made into the First Republic Medical Academy of Coruscant. It was here where he graduated at the top of his class with a degree in xenopathology, with a concentration in general medicine. He later got a doctorate in General Surgery, and this led to a position as a doctor on Coruscant. This career was short-lived, Ludweg received an S.O.S. from his parents. He flew to an unmarked location where his parents revealed that they are holding an ancient text that could cause the destruction of many planets. They told him that he needed to guard the text with his life and that they must go into hiding. Ludweg accepted the mission without hesitation, even though this meant his career as a professional doctor was over. Now Ludweg is traveling the galaxy, conducting experiments and learning as much as can to better prepare himself as the guardian of this text.
