The west hall is thankfully free of awful beasties. The hallway has two doors, one on each side. Something seems off, however, like you're being watched. You swear you catch a glimpse of someone going upstairs in the main room.
Kathleen first checks both doors but doesn't open them to see if they're locked. If one is locked she'll choose the other. If neither is unlocked she takes position near the North door. (At least I think that's where a door is supposed to be) She waits for Clodius to get readies a shot on her bow and waits for Clodius to ready his attack and take position.
(Yep. Doors are north and south. I have no idea how to post images so all I can really do is describe stuff)
Neither are locked, but both are extremely swollen and rotted. With a bit of force, the north door opens, revealing a decrepit old kitchen. The humid hangs heavy in the air, as does the smell of decay. On the floor, a single skeleton lay, a massive gouge in the skull.
If the door doesn't open after Clodius pushes it, Kathleen will quickly hand the sorcerer her bow and draw her long sword. She will then attack the door. Swollen and rotted wood is supposed to be a lot weaker than normal wood so Kathleen thinks trying to break the door down might be easier than trying to open it. Especially if there's some unseen force holding the door shut.
Kathleen begins coughing from the smoke. Seeing that are strategy seems to be working, she pulls the sword out and goes in for another hack on the door.
Seeing that the automaton is not the chatting type Kargram finishes his ale and the bird (picking every bit of meat off the bones) He asks the armor "Which room is mine?" Leaves the gold owed, and goes to leave his travel gear in his room. And heads back down looking to see if he can find anyone with gossip of the area.
Kargram gives up on the inn and heads back out. After looking around the town a bit and considering his options he makes for the General Store greeting the shopkeep as he enters.
Kathleen decides to backtrack and approach quietly through the west hall. She keeps an eye out for anything and everything out of the ordinary.

"I don't like the looks of this... You want to try one of these doors?"
"Sure. Want to do this military style where we take position on two sides of the door and open fire on hostiles after opening it?"
"Sounds good, chose a door!"

Clodius follows suit next to Kathleen and readies magic missile to cast if there's a threat inside the door.

Kathleen slowly wanders into the kitchen, ready to fire at anything dangerous
(Do you have an imgur account? I link images here. )
(Nope.)
Suddenly, a bloodcurdling scream shatters the silence, and the door behind you slams shut!
The ancient, rusted oven flares to life and begins pouring out thick, black, choking smoke.

Realising this is probably a trap of some sort Clodius tries to open the door: "Here goes nothing!"

Tavern: of the three folks you find, noneseem too eager to talk. The automaton tells you which room you are staying in ("ROOM 2"), as well.
Mansion: the mighty force of the blade cleaves the door in twain, allowing the smoke to vent.

"Hello friend."
Kathleen steps out of the room through the now obliterated door and asks Clodius for her bow back.
"That was quite thrilling. So you think we should explore the kitchen a bit more or try the other door?"
As Clodius hands back her bow: "Hhhmmmm, myes, we should give a quick look inside since this smoke looks to have cleared a bit."
Clodius steps back inside and looks around to see if there's something interesting.
