Viaya, Theo, andZakon: With no further delays, you make it as far as Cherkobe. It's a bit larger than Kolovoro. Traders and merchants pass through here all the time, so it's not as rural as the border cities. After several days on the road, you're eager to have somewhere other than the ground to sleep. Thankfully, there are a couple of inns in the town. You've chosen the Winding Vine, the smaller of the taverns. It offered the best price for rooms and meals.
At present, you've enjoyed a night's sleep in actual beds and have rejoined for breakfast down in the tavern part of the building. The matter still remains on what to do next. Telling local authorities here about the attack on Kolovoro could work, but what reason do they have to trust three strangers? It's not like you brought actual proof with you. Many of the elves still hold the belief that their neutrality will see them through the war, and are unlikely to accept the idea that war has come to their own doorstep. On the other hand, there is the possibility of heading towards the capital city of Golorere. Perhaps you could convince the Council of the Nine or some of the noble families of the danger present. The council is made up of several people, meaning you have several chances to find at least one of the nine who might hear your cause. The noble families are also probably better equipped to face an enemy or at least muster an army to take on the threat. However, they could turn you away as well, and Viaya does not seem particularly keen on this idea for reasons of her own.
Waysayra and Saryn: For various reasons of your own, you've also arrived in Cherkobe. In need of a warm meal, the Winding Vine appears to have decent food at a fair enough price. It's a bit smaller and more discreet than other inns, giving you the privacy you require to sort out your own situations. However, small inns mean overhearing more conversations. One, in particular, has drawn your interest...
Welcome back! I think I have things sorted out for the next adventure. I feel like this one is a bit shorter than the last, but I'll see where I can lengthen things out if I need to. The good news is that it has a very open-ended beginning, so it can be woven perfectly into the Imela adventure!

Zakon looks at Viaya and Theo over his bowl, eating with gusto. "So what now? We can't just leave more towns to end up ablaze like the last. We have to tell someone," he says, washing down his meal with a pull from his mug.
Looking up from stirring her own bowl of mostly uneaten porridge as Zakon speaks, Viaya tilts her head at the gnome'squestion. What now? It's a fair query but one she still isn't sure how to answer. They should be warning people about the impending threat of Valcemonian attack, that at least is certain, but how to go about it? Especially without attracting the exact sort of attention she's been trying so hard to avoid? Cherkobe isn't Golorere but it's not nearly as remote as Kolovoro was either. Meaning local government will have direct lines of communication open with the capital and there's probably at least some kind of noble presence in the area as well. She's not eager to interact with either and who's to say they'll be taken seriously even if they take the risk? But again, they have to do something. The people of Kolovoro deserve that much. Nudging her porridge with her spoon once again, the elf sighs, dropping Zakon's gaze and glancing to the side. Eyes skimming over the other occupants of the common room. "We sent word ahead with Bree, Talos, and Axis." She points out. "It's possible they managed to get through to someone with the letter I gave them. Even if they didn't...a good place to start would probably be Townhall. That's likely where we'll find anyone important enough to make decisions regarding this kind of news. The mayor or whoever's in charge of running things here in town."
Wysayra having escaped the sacking of Kolovoro and believing she is the only survivor is startled to overhear the gnome and elf at the table behind her. turning in her seat "Exc..cough excuse me are you talking about Kolovoro? her voice is slightly horse, she looks in dire need of a bath, a good nights sleep and a change of clothes, there's dried blood on her hands and clothes altho less noticeable on her clothes due to them being torn and cut to almost shreds, but the most striking thing about the elf is the haunted look in her eyes.
I'm excited to finally be playing with all of you I have been looking forward to the chance for almost 2 months now. as a heads up I've told the dm but I guess I should let everyone know because you will notice, I have Dysgraphia (it is a learning disability that affects writing abilities. It can manifest itself as difficulties with spelling, poor handwriting, and trouble putting thoughts on paper.) if something I write does not make sense or you think "wtf why did he say that" ask me to clarify or rephrase or something, chances are my triple checks and the software I use missed something. I won't get upset if you point it out.
"im Wysayra, were... are..." her eyes lose focus for a second then she shakes her head and takes a deep breath "sorry I haven't slept since..." she shakes her head again "I've just been running and running..."she takes another deep breath "you mentioned three others, did anyone else make it out?" then in a soft broken tone "are we the only ones left? those Monsters were cutting down everyone who fled." in a slightly stronger voice"we owe it to the dead that we left behind to tell others of the horror committed there and hopefully prevent it from happening again"
Zakon looks over at Wysayra with concern, nothing the exhaustion in her eyes. "Aye, we do. And we have - our friends who also escaped were taking the information to those who need it. Did you make your way here alone?" he asks gently.
Nodding her head slightly "there were others running with me, they..." shaking her head "didn't make the tree line, I was.. they were hunting me, but I know those woods better than them" pats the pommel of the scimitar on her hip "its how I got this. I managed to take one of them down, then I just ran towards Cherkobe avoiding roads and people. I just made it here early this morning and was trying to figure out what to do next." as she talks you can see her relax little by little as she realizes shes amongst friends "I'm going to get a room" she reaches down and picks up a small pack that has 4 or 5 broken arrows embedded in it "this pack saved my life" she stands and then pauses "when are you going to inform the Mayor?"
A small figure enters the inn. A gnome with wild greyish brown hair that reminds you of a briar patch. Wearing a simple sheep skin clothing and carrying a stone battleaxe. Though compared to her it seemed more a great axe. She looked around quickly, giving off the air of an cornered animal. When her eyes fell on Zakon you could swear you saw a ripple of green run through her hair. She made her way over to your table and approached the other gnome. "Thank the wild one I found you brother! Where am I? Is this Sobamilos?" The last question coming out with cautious hope.
Zakon looks at the gnome curiously. "You were looking for me?"he says with surprise. "Why?" he asks, immediately suspicious. He begins to run through his contacts in head, trying to remember if he's met this gnome before. Or has she been sent by his enemies to try and bring him back?
A confused look comes over her face. “I was looking for you? Why would I be doing that? Lucky that I found you then.” She looks rather pleased with herself and you can see now her hair has certainly changed looking more like wild grass now with small flowers scattered through out. “Now, who are you?” Looking closer Zakon you see that her clothes while roughly made, obviously by an unskilled hand, is vaguely similar to an older style of Gnomish fashion. And is even trimmed in sheep skin, an addition used by many to aid in making simple illusions.
Viaya'sinitial shock and unease at being heard and interrupted eases slightly as Theocontinues to speak to the newcomer, Wysayra. Her suspicion lessening little by little, slowly losing its edge to the relief that she wasn't the only one of her kind that managed to get away. That their little group weren't the only survivors in general. Eyebrows arching as the other woman pats the scimitar she apparently took off one of the Valcemonian soldiers single-handedly. "You got one of their swords?" She questions, pushing aside her bowl of porridge. "May I see it? Please?" If there were identifying marks, symbols, rank, regiment colors, anything, it could be just the proof they needed to make their case to whoever was in charge without her needing to leverage anything from her past. The raucous voice of a second stranger interrupting their breakfast startles her a bit, gaze sliding towards Zakonquestioningly as the rough looking gnomish woman hurries over to them. The day is just beginning and already it seems to be full of unexpected surprises.

looking toward Viaya a little confused as to why she wants her hard-won weapon "I don't think its anything special" she looks a little defensive. the gnomes interruptions have totally confused her and now she's wishing she would have left just a bit sooner her sleep-deprived brain just can't handle this.
Reaching forward suddenly she pokes Zakon on the shoulder, hard. An amazed look on her face“Are you real? Really real? What about the rest of them?” She circles toward Theo making to poke him as well. “Where am I? How did I get here?......Is this Sobamilos?!?”She seems to ok around a little more and noticed the two elves. A quickly drops to her knee in a bow. “Forgive me Elandrin, I did not realize these were your servants. Please spare me.” You watch as her wild green hair seems to wilt.
Zakon raises his eyebrows at Saryn's strange behavior, looking over at Viaya questioningly. Saryn makes him uneasy, though he can't put his finger on why. "You are in Cherkobe. How is that you don't know how you got here? Have you been injured recently?"A recent head injury would certainly explain her behavior. How can she not know where she is or how she got there? And why would she think they weren't real?
Theo smiles a bit in admiration of Saryn. "No, no Zakon. We are fortunate. She has been touched by the spirits or the gods. Not all are so lucky." He finishes quickly.
"Come, finish eating we all should go to the townhall and speak with the Mayor of Cherkobe." He rises to his feet, gathers his belongings and makes to the street.
Taking Theo's words as praise Saryn beams with pride. "I will be happy to help you finish eating." The little gnome moves up to the table taking bits of food from your plates.
