As the party ponders to follow the trail or not Beetle turns to Gerald. "My little friend, if the swampy mud get to deep for you feel free to climb on up like we discussed earlier," he says laughing a bit. He then continues in a much more mellow tone, "I do have a strange feeling about this marsh though, can't put my finger on it but something just doesn't seem quite right."
Tarvis says "paths are often made by swsmp creatures to lure prey in... But the fact that there tracks comeing back gives me the feeling that this is relatively safe... Lets traverse the path but stsy on high alert..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OCC: I will shoot again and a 3rd shot if needed or possible as I had already declared that in an earlier post. If it gets away then I abide by Tarvis advice as stated in follow up post. Blast 1 17 to hit and 5 damage if successful, Blast 2 12 and 9 if successful Edited because I came home from work and could use the diceroller
Walking along and no longer entertaining himself with magic bolts or shadow hoping Gerald speaks up
'What exactly are we looking for out here? Personally I'm doing target practice and entertainment, what about the rest of you?'
OCC: I dot think anybody except Tarvis and Shadow know about the herb
'Friend Scales, can you teach me in your spare moments how you recognised those tracks. I'm thinking some fun could be had with that skill, wander out to the middle of nowhere, pick some random tracks and see who or what you find. Definitely stop you ever getting bored'
Shirin steps carefully in the mud to keep up with the others, as he tries to pass his card to each of them in turn. The mud covering his previously pure white clothing, but seemingly not minding it at all. 'Greeting, I am Shirin. I am mute and unable to speak, I may talk through minds. May I have your permission to do so?' He makes sure to smile and adjust his eye covering as he does so, trying to make a good impression to his potential friends or companions.
Gavin continues to make his way into the Mire, catching the trail of the party and quickly following it, hoping that they do not get themselves lost. Luckily it did not take long for him to find what looked to be a traveling party, a strange looking bunch. “Y-You all are going into the Mire as well? I would like to join you if you would be so kind as to help me with my mission to get rid of the rumored undead here in the Mire. I am Gavin Windflaw, it is nice to meet you all.“ he said as he caught up to them, introducing himself and being friendly. He hoped that they would help him with his quest, something that he would not be able to do on his own, especially in this sort of place.
OCC: Sorry to hear that Mik but have fun, so far I am enjoying it and am looking forward to see how it pans out, very different experience to sitting around a table :)
Ooc: Yeah it is fun and can be a bit awkward but I would rather that then no group at all. Especially since finding a decent group is like finding a pirate treasure in the desert.
OOC: Base human movement speed is 30 ft. Double that for the running action and you get 60 ft. I reckon a rabbit can move faster than the average human, so I believe the rabbit is out of range already.
As the party ventures deeper into the shallows the fog thickens. There's not much to heard beyond the groaning of trees and the whistling of the wind. Undergrowth thickens to the point where it's hard not to find yourself tripping over roots. The mud deepens a little further, maybe quarter-shin height for the average human at this point. Ambient light darkens a little, oddly. Something is definitely amiss about this swamp and you aren't even out of the shallows yet. The path is becoming harder and harder to keep track of and you reckon you'll end up bushwhacking soon enough.
All of you swear you can see figures darting around in the corners of your eyes.
Struggling as the mud deepens, Gerald speaks up "Beetlejuice I'm thinking that it may well be time to take you up on your offer, else I am going to significantly slow the party down. With your permission...' Suiting actions to his words Gerald scales Beetlejuice and tries to find a comfortable position for the pair of them settling finally on sitting on his backpack peering over his head. ''Wow tis high up here, things look different from this perspective.'
Tarvis tells every one to "get ready do not look for the foe directly.... Let them come but be ready when they do.... As far as why were here we are looking for shadow sap....
Dozaka inspects the path for footprints, trying to discern who (or what) has been through here recently.
Survival: 19
Dozaka: There's a small mess of footprints heading back into town. A good 5 or so people. Beyond that you discern a few animal tracks, mostly rabbit.

'Beetle I thank you for the offer .should it get past my knees in depth I will do so, else I would slow all down, gotta short legs'
Chuckling at his own self depreciating humour he continues.
'Travis as you seem to have some purposeful direction I propose to follow you, providing of course Beetle does, can't be leaving my metal wall behind'

OCC: I'm gonna drop out. This is a bit too chaotic for my liking. Good luck!
