After gently rifling through the desk drawers and boxes (holding her nose while looking through the latter), Ilena will go look around the room under the stairs to see if there's anything notable there (like a sleeping Daniel Radcliffe.)
Ilena finds, while thumbing through the drawers, an unusual box. It is old, and a corner has been chewed. It is rectangular, about the size of a book. When she opens it, she finds inside a single piece of parchment. What is unusual is that amidst the dust and mold, this single piece of paper is clean, dry, and uncreased. Maybe it is magical? The box has some writing on it, but it has long been illegible.
Let me know if she does something with it, or if she just takes it and goes to find Harry Potter.
OOC > I imagine Hildi would try to stop Pascal to check for traps, but...
Pascal pulls the hand axe out of the wall and sticks it in the crack, prying the door with it. He grunts a moment, then there is a crunch, and the flimsy locking mechanism breaks, and the door is loose.
Ilena, the bell in the room you are in rings wildly.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Ilena jumps to grab the bell and quell it. The other bells in the other rooms were also jingling, and they all come to a jangly halt, eventually. Then they ring again! But stop immediately in the fully pulled position, as if someone were pulling as hard as they might on the wire wherever it ends up.
Pascal (and Hildi) you pull the door wide and Hildi immediately notices that there is a wire stretched taut from the top of the door to a hole in the side of the wall of the passage you have revealed. Hildi brings his torch over and you see the small hall ends in a little storeroom stacked with crates and boxes and bags. Is it treasure?

With the bells silent, Ilena runs to her companions, bounding down the steps. Seeing Jorin and Drusk first, she runs and whispers to them so that the Kenku don't hear. "Some sort of alarm went off, did either of you do anything?"
"Jorin threw his axe all the way across the room. Maybe he won top prize or something."

Ilena, looking quite worried, runs over to find the handaxe and enters the secret door behind Pascal and Hildigrim. "What's going on? Someone set off some kind of alarm."
Pascal and Hildi move ahead into the room. Hildi's Passive Perception tells him all is well.
There are two large crates among the dross. One has four paintings in it, wrapped in leather. They seem like nice depictions of famous cities. Waterdeep is one of them. (Someone with History or an artist background could discern more.)
The other has 15 bars of silver, corroded but still worth money when cleaned off. (Someone with, uh, a relevant background could evaluate their worth.)
That is all there is in this little hidey hole.

Ilena relaxes, seeing that everyone is well. She helps carefully unwrap the paintings and looks over the works of art, trying to see if she recognizes anything from descriptions or crude drawings from her history books.
The cities depicted are easily recognized by Ilena from her studies, iconic views all. Luskan, Silverymoon, Neverwinter, and Waterdeep. They seem good quality, and the leather seems to have protected them from damage. Certainly worth something.

Ilena's not particularly interested in the money but, "I wonder if the Temple of Oghma might be interested in these?" she says, enchanted by them. "There are so many places to go, and to think I've been cooped up in that monastery all this time..."
After marveling at the paintings for a while she goes to check the room under the stairs.
Drusk: "Remind me what this warehouse is... I have no problems taking coin from robbers, but we didn't come here to pillage someone else's possessions. If we don't have a lawful claim to the stuff here, then we should leave a(n anonymous) note for the local officials to take care of it."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hildigrim turns to look at Drusk, who must have followed Ilena into the secret room. "I agree. We don't know that these are ill-gotten. We'd best report this to the Watch and allow them to sort it all out. Was anything of interest found on the bodies?" When Ilena tells him that some had the winged snake and some had the eye, the halfling furrows his brow. "Both Zhentarim and Xanathar dead?" He places a finger to his temple. "I think I'd like to ask those kenku some questions while you two continue searching," he says to Pascal and Ilena. He looks at Drusk. "I may need you and Jorin to add a little punch to my interrogation." Hildigrim marches back south to stand before the conscious kenku. "I'd like to ask you a few questions, and I'd appreciate your cooperation. It is unfortunate your friends had to die. We'd like to spare you and your unconscious friend. Cooperate, and we'll simply hand you over to the Watch. Did you kill these men?" He indicates the dozen corpses.
OoC - I totally misread your first post. I read it as a few steps closer to normal range. I amend my previous post thusly:
Jorin, have great faith in his throwing arm, takes a few steps before hucking the blade across the room. 25
vs. 16 from the first roll
OOC > No worries.
The hand axe lands with a satisfying thunk in the wall next to the secret door, if a bit low to the ground. It sticks there, quivering.
Pascal or Hildi can pull it out if they choose to do so.
