All three of the people in the room turn collectively to look in the direction of the party, as something tips them off. Maybe the door creaked, maybe it was a change in the quality of the light, from Jorin's axe. Their eyes widen, and they reach for weapons!
Party vs Dwarf and Bandits
Round 1 DECLARATION phase
Map:
Sitrep: The bandits (and dwarf) are gathered across the room, but have turned and seen the party. They have weapons, including crossbows, nearby or in hand. Hildigrim is crouched in the doorway, Ilena looking over him, Drusk, Jorin, and Pascal are in the second room.
Start of round: no start of round happenings
Drusk - AC 18 - 14/17 hp Hildigrim - AC 14 - 15/15 hp Ilena - AC 16 - 11/11 hp Jorin - AC 17 - 21/21 hp Pascal - AC 14 - 18/18 hp ----- Dwarf - fine Head tattoo - fine Bandit - fine
Monsters declare! They are reaching for weapons, and looking concerned about strangers in their hideout.
Next: Everyone please declare. As a quick reminder, that means you tell me what your character intends to do in the next six seconds, you roll for those actions, and you also give me an initiative roll, just in case. Then I resolve it (cinematically!).
Important: Remember, you can declare Delay to see what they do, and still act this round (but after they do).
Declare Delay or as many of Action, Move, Bonus Action and/or Reaction as you want
Roll initiative
Roll for your declared actions (to hit, damage, etc.)
Ilena glowers, recognizing the head tattoo bandit frown the Yawning Portal. She takes a breath, presumably to speak, but then sees the bandits reaching for their weapons and speeds to action.
She dives over Hildigrim and rushes the nearest bandit, throwing an uppercut but misjudges the distance, leaving just enough time for the bandit to let out the start of a laugh, "ha!" before she spins into a backhand strike followed by a flying roundhouse.
initiative : 24
movement : Ilena will try to run over to the upper left corner of the room adjacent to the "Fine" Bandit ;)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jorin briefly considers shouting something suitably bandit-like but then Ilena springs to action. Rarely is Jorin of the Bodt beat to the charge, so he laughs and charges in right behind her, swinging his axes into her foe.
Drusk delays. (That doorway looks congested at the moment.)

OOC > For what it is worth, Pascal is likely to still be in the doorway after a Delay. But game wise, moving through the space of an ally is just difficult terrain. So even after Delay, Drusk will be able to get into the other room, past Pascal.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
(Well, technically, it would just be me there at the moment, as Jorin and Ilena both charged into melee)
(If by some miracle Drusk managed to get a higher Init than Jorin and Ilena, then no, they wouldn't have charged into melee yet. And Hildigrim is in front... Stepping on top of other members of the party is the difference between getting into melee range with the enemy, and needing another round to do that.)

OOC > Except that in concurrent initiative, everyone who is moving is moving at the same time, barring ridiculously different speeds. Pascal not moving is the problem. Hildi delaying in the middle of the doorway, too. Either way, Drusk and Hildi delaying is an excellent choice, especially for Drusk, as it is unlikely anyone will attack him while he delays in the other room.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Even before the split second where everyone is staring at each other, Ilena is in motion, she squeezes past Hildigrim in the doorway and races up to the fine looking bandit (handsome!) and throws an upper cut that he dodges with a smirk and a “Ha!” But she focuses and spins, striking him a backhand blow (22) that knocks him into the wall (5 dmg), followed by a flying roundhouse (16) that connects solidly (5 dmg) leaving him groggy. His weak attempt to stab at her (5) misses as he tries to find his footing.
The head tattoo bandit from the Yawning Portal draws his scimitar, shouting, “Get help!” and steps up to her, swinging as she finishes her flurry of attacks (21), slashing her badly (7 dmg).
Pascal pushes his way past Hildigrim in the doorway, shoving the door open all the way, revealing a second bandit in the corner, sitting on a chair. Pascal’s scales are already coruscating, and he lets a Chaos Bolt loose from his mouth, that transforms into crackling lightning as it slams into the dwarf (18), causing him to grunt in pain (13 dmg!). But the second bandit stands up from his chair, lifting a crossbow and shooting it at Pascal, the bolt slamming into the lizard man (20), and bedding deep (7 dmg).
Jorin pushes his own way past Hildigrim, racing north after Ilena, bringing one axe down on the hapless fine-looking bandit (19) and ending his reign of handsomeness (6 dmg). The bandit crumples to the ground, having only managed to let out one “Ha!” this entire encounter. Jorin swings his second axe in a backhand move at the head tattooed bandit (15) connecting a glancing blow (4 dmg).
The dwarf grunts from Pascal's strike, picks up his war pick from where it was leaning against the wall, and then squeezes his eyes shut and begins to grow! He quickly doubles in size!
Hildigrim has now been shoved and pushed by Ilena, Pascal, and then Jorin, as he surveys the situation from the doorway. Drusk, too, has been biding his time.
End of round: Not the end of the round, as Hildigrim and Drusk both Delayed.
Notes: Jorin's second swing came after his original target was dead, so I switched it to the other guy standing right next to him. Pascal had to take a step into the room, because while he could move past Hildigrim, he could not stop in the same space. Likewise, the Head Tattoo bandit has been shoved out of his space by the grown dwarf, who is now Large in size.
Round 1 DELAYED DECLARATION phase

Roll for your declared actions (to hit, damage, etc.) if any
