Preah shudders as the noxious feeling washes over her and pauses in her walk. Staring at the birds, she drops her hand to the handle of her axe, but makes no sudden movements.
Preah comes to a stop and makes certain her mannerisms don't startle the ravens. Moments later, the sound of Ella's voice mixes with the strumming of her lyre. Her attempt to persuade one of the birds is unsuccessful, but it does, seemingly, have an effect on both ravens. The first springs from the branch and flaps its wings a few times before turning and flying toward the western end of the island. The second raven simply vanishes into thin air.
Elsewhere almost stops to curse, but decides to give it another go. She run-walks after after the raven that is still visible she continues playing and singing.
Sorry friend about the fright
To my hand alight alight
Don't be scared and do not fight
And stay with me alight alight
Action : Elsa casts suggestion again with the intent of getting one of the ravens to come to her so that she and her siblings can puzzle out what it is doing and what it might know. The raven must make a wisdom 13 saving throw assuming it can be charmed and understands Elsa.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

WIS saving throw for raven: 13
...to no avail. The birds' unusual resistance to magic, coupled with Preah's discovery of their evil, indicates to the group these are no normal ravens.
Watching the crows flee from Elsa and Preah, Gale will leave the house and begin walking towards the one remaining crow. (Let me know if I can get withing 60 feet).
Lifting his head up from the books Irthos finally registers that something is going on thanks to Elsa's singing. Putting the ancient Elven text into his pack he follows his brother Gale outside to see what on earth is happening.
Upon seeing his sisters looking warily at the crow that is departing westwards he says: "Is something the matter with that crow?"
Gale replies over his shoulder as he continues to walk, "Irthos, I know you've always been bookish, but do you ever remember seeing crows at these islands when we were growing up?"
Preah grits her teeth. “Those were no normal ravens. They were fiends of some sort. If I have to wager a bet, those were familiars. We were being watched, and their masters are probably near by. Follow that one!” She takes off after the fleeing raven.
(OOC:It seems the ravens magically became crows at some point, woops! Guess I will swap back to what they actually are!)
Shaking his head Irthos replies, his tone suddenly serious after his sister replies. "No brother, there are no ravens here. Go after it, I will conjure some familiars of my own and have them take to the skies after it."
With that he begins chanting in a strange language, slowly conjuring a group of three celestial hawks using his flock of familiars spell. After completing the slightly lengthy incantation he tasks the three hawks to take off after the raven as fast as they can manage and report to him what they can see.
(Reminder: One raven is flying westward; the other vanished)
The one raven still visible to the siblings is too distant for Gale to do anything, but it is still within sight, approximately 100' away. Where the second raven is, is anyone's guess.
Irthos spends the next minute casting his spell and three hawks suddenly appear nearby. The raptors take to the air immediately, streaking after the raven, and within a minute or so are within 50' of it. The telepathic link between the hawks and Irthos is firmly intact, for the birds are only a few hundred yards away. Irthos, seeing and hearing as if he were one of the hawks, watches in mild dismay at this raven, just as the other one did, suddenly turns invisible.
Elsewhere looks a little bit afraid and more than a little dejected after her failure.
"Spies, and we know not for whom. It's clear that we are not safe here, we should gather what we can and make haste to leave. Where should we hence? Should we sail for Neverwinter, or Waterdeep?"
She says, wrapping her lyre back up as she walks back toward the house. When her lyre is wrapped she sets it down near her pack and goes to see where Tib ran off to and to make sure that she and the other chickens are sufficiently supplied with feed and shelter, and if not will set them free to roam about the yard.
"Damn, it vanished. Looked like it turned invisible too." Irthos says to his siblings as if they can tell what he is seeing. Before he continues he telepathically commands the hawks to spread out and search the island as best they can and to report to him if they have any more sightings of the ravens or if they see anyone else present on the island. Turning back to the others he says in response to Elsa:
"More to the point Elsa, what are we going to sail on? Did any of you leave an exit off the island available? I assumed mother would be here and didn't give it much thought myself!"
Gale assures the others, "Worry not. I can flag down the next ship that passes within sight of the coast and get us all passage. As long as you're willing to earn your keep while on the ship."
Irthos continues to receive auditory and visual information from the hawks; there seems to be nothing else of concern on the island. After several minutes they soar into view, waiting for further instructions from the warlock.
As the hawks return to him Irthos shakes his head.
"Nothing, lost them completely and can't find any sign of anything else obvious around the island."
Looking to his siblings he tries to gauge their thoughts before his gaze finally turns to Gale.
"Good to know brother, though some how the way you say 'earn your keep' fills me with dread hah! You don't sound a stranger to the seas, and that really doesn't surprise me! If we want to depart quickly I can send my familiars to see if there are any ships nearby?"
"The vessel that I secured passage on may yet be moored," Elsa offers, "I thought I overheard the captain saying something about minor repairs needing to be made prior to departure. It's possible that we can get their attention from the shoreline. In the interest of complete candor I spent most of my earnings just getting here, so let's hope whatever ship we are able to board is willing to let us work or at least take our word that we'll pay them back."
Gale reassures Elsa, "Worry not. If the ship you secured has a reputable captain, I will get us all passage to the mainland. However, you will all have to help the crew during the voyage."
As Elsa had hoped, the ship that bore her to the island is still within sight. In fact, a few hundred yards down the shore is the ship's small boat with two crew members who are doing their best to catch crabs among the rocks and tide pools.
"Aye, returning to the mainland we are," explains the sailor named Mithro. "Straight on to Neverwinter. Then Luskan after that. We've space for ya aboard...at the cap'n's discretion, of course."
He then offers to ferry the five dragonborn to the ship so they might discuss passage to the mainland with the captain. If the terms cannot be agreed upon, Mithro explains that, for his troubles, he would ask for a few gold pieces as compensation for returning them to the island.
"I'm sure you'll agree, a workman is worth is labor," he philosophizes.
His shipmate, a portly leather-skinned fellow, utters his agreement. "Well said, Mith!"
Gale steps up, "I doubt the captain would deny passage for those willing to work. And on all the ships I've sailed, a cleric has always been welcome. My services alone should pay for their passage, yet they can all earn their board in their own way."
Preah nods. “I’m sure we can all come to an agreement.” On the ferry ride over, she gives a small prayer to her god. Bahamut, help me. Give me you way with people that I might further your purpose. She finishes as her foot hits the deck of the main ship, and her holy symbol flashes as she channels divinity (Emissary of Peace).
