Krwa, after hearing what his name is, you are reminded of a sign that happens to say something on it...

Leto will say glancing back at the group to emphasize that we should all be in agreement on this point. Continuing "now, North is it? I'm Leto. From where did you come? And when did you arrive? We only appeared about [insert time that has past] ago."

you all hear a loud shambling as, through the bushes, comes a large man covered in blood.... he looks familiar.. it’s the warforged!  He has no cuts or bruises, but that might be because if his magical cure-all’s. His book seems to be extended outwards now as he writes in it, the cover labeled Knife Dagger After spotting everyone, he puts it away and takes out his weapons. Watch out! It’s an elemental! They come from here. They are manipulative little tricksters who enjoy leading you away and then killing you when separated! Come here, I’ll take care of him! He whispers something under his breath, which you can’t hear. (If you’d like to try, make a perception check). Meanwhile, the elemental screams at the gate. Let me in! Mean men are here! Mean men! I don’t want to be here anymore!

"Excuse me, Dagger was it? Elementals don't come from here, not to mention you said something about running us through earlier did you not?"

The thing responds. Yes, my name is Knife... no... Dagger, yes! And I was talking about the elemental earlier, obviously! And of course, not that elemental! That one isn’t an elemental! It’s been disguised as one! Just grab it, you’ll see!

I take out the sign and examine the words: "Knife" on the front and "Was here. Go North." on the back. "North, you seem to have left something behind." I show the elemental the sign. I sigh, it seems everyone else just wants to talk. "You're not wrong that everyone lies, you just have to discern what they're lying about." As a sign of peace, I place down the sign and my shortbow on the floor. "Here, you see? I've laid down my weapon and you can have your sign back. Let's just talk." I try to calm this elemental down.

 Though it seems quite clear he's got alterior motives, Leto will look closer to see if he can learn anything

I gather up my things in disgust. "Let's leave this thing, it's barely coherent and we should find shelter. Who knows what roams at night." At the same time, I look upon the metal gates. 

@DM: What do I see in the area? Does it look like some kind of fortress or keep or place? Perception = 19

Krwa, a storm cloud appears over the elemental. The cloud rains, and, if water elementals could cry, this is how they would do it. (Please make an insight check on the elemental). You hear what the war forged is saying, and it sounds like it is saying knife..dagger....knife...dagger..., over and over. You look at the gate, and what lies behind it is... nothing. Litterally nothing. Nothing but a giant ball of darkness behind the gate.

Leto will turn to the warforged and ask "So what is it you want with this poor thing?" Leto also suddenly perks up, tightens his grip on his staff, and looks around

You hear what it was whispering (look at above post) earlier, as it stops to answer you. what do you mean? I’m trying to save you! Trying to save you from this horror, this monstrosity!

also, Leto, from your insightful knowledge you piece together that this creature is to be trusted and Is telling the truth! (The war forged, not the elemental.)

I roll my eyes at the Elemental and turn to speak with the Warforged. "I'm a little unfamiliar with what is going on here. Can you explain why this water elemental is a horror or monstrosity? All it seems to be is rather useless. Oh look, it's wetting itself."

North stops crying. I’ll... i’ll Remember you, mean lady, when I get bigger and stronger! You’ll see! I’ll show you, and no one will bully me again! The elemental bangs on the gate. LET! ME! IN! The gate topples with the force of a hurricane, and the elemental walks through into the darkness. The gate then somehow repairs itself, closing again. The warforged yells. It got away! Great! Now look at what you did! Those things are powerful beings, those creatures! wait.., you don’t know, do you? That’s a doppelganger. It’s a being that replicates other beings actions and powers in order to betray and devour others. That’s excellent. Come on, let’s go back to town. The Poisonous Ale barkeep is selling extra sugary beer!

I blanch at the Warforged's words. Should have killed the doppelganger when we had the chance. There didn't seem much else to do but to follow the Warforged. I ask him, or it: "What should we call you? I am Krwa and I don't particularly like doppelgangers."

((It likely wasn't a doppelganger~~))

Liet looks to Dagger and says ((still trusting him at the moment)) "doppelgangers are never to be trusted. Also. It's good we stopped along when we did. Those things took a pretty big bite out of you before I hit it. But a drink could be very nice about now."

Dresh looks around, confused. “None of you heard that noise? That voice? I confused.”
