Barnibus allows Phae to escort him to the door, motioning for Saeth to follow along. Once outside Saeth blows a few notes on a whistle. Immediately the City Watch and the City Guard fall into groups and start to march out of the alley. In less than a minute everyone is gone, the only evidence of something having happened is some blackening of the stones near where the explosion occurred.
After the alley clears Renaer looks back to the group, "Did you all happen to get any other details on the man in the cloak? I have many contacts across town, I may be able to help identify him."

"I believe he was also injured as he had a limp...the halfling lad. There was a halfling lad crying, it must have been his parents...."
Phaedra darts outside, slowing up a little if the guard are still present, giving Barnibus a wave. Walking back to the top of the ally, she starts looking around to see if she can see the halfling boy who was crying.

Silver just stands up as the men leaves finishing off his drink, as his companions begin to mention their next moves he just looks around "Maybe we should go over the evidence we have right now. Why would we even head to this temple?" he asks just staring at them as he touches his weapons adjusting them in case they needed to be drawn during this encounter "Not against it just want to make sure we know everything before heading into a situation that requires our lives on the line."
"I agree with Silver. We need a coarse of action and if we go to this temple then we need a plan in case things go side ways." Elon scratches his head and looks around at everyone. "We didn't think much of the bakers guild and yet things got hairy"

"Wait." Renaer says, "The incident at the bakers guild was you guys? Volo told me but I thought he was joking." shaking his head Renaer continues, "But Silver has the right idea I think. Let's review what we know. I hope you all don't mind me staying and participating. Here's what I know so far." Ranaer starts ticking points off on his fingers:
there was an explosion that killed several people
it appears the objective was to stop Dalakhar from reaching you all and hiring you
A man with a burn-scarred face wearing a cloak took something from Dalakhar, we believe it to have been the Stone of Golorr, and escaped
There was a "puppet" of some sort on a roof. It left behind a scrap of cloth with a symbol of Gond."
Selinae gave Bason a kiss on the cheek as they emerged back into the ground floor.
Bason blushes, and looks away "Aww shucks!"
As the others talk, Bason will listen to the others talk for a bit. He will pipe up "There was also that bit about the sewers. Didn't one of the victims have some muck on them, made us think they were in the sewers recently? Isn't that why we were about to jump down there?"
Bason will fiddle with his beard as he thinks. "Also, according to Mrs Hornraven, the puppet thing was what caused the explosion. It threw something from the roof. My thought is this Temple to Gond is the only lead that we can follow up on, the rest is just waiting until we find out more about this scar faced man."
"Oh, right. The sewers. Some of htem had sewer gunk on their pants. But Vassa says the sewer access hadn't been opened recently by the looks of it. Is there another point of entry around here?"
"Sewers eh? Interesting. There's entrances all over the place, and it was rumored that Xanathar had the stone. If that's where Dalakhar had to go to get it, that would explain why they had been in the sewer. I think I'm going to leave you all to run with what you have. I'm going to start poking around and see if I can figure out who the scared man is and where he went. I'll be back as soon as I learn something." And with that Renaer stood and headed for the door.
Not seeing the boy anywhere, Phaedra wanders back inside and listens to the conversation before interjecting.
"You know Silver and Elon are rather correct Kestrell. How about we make a decision to talk through this one rather than have you lead us all into another bakers oven. I'm not opposed to going to the temple of Gond, but I also think that Mrs Hornraven may have more to do with this than she is letting on."
OCC:
Would it be unusal to see someone of Mrs Hornraven's status around Trollskull Ally? It does not strike me as an area that many nobles would visit.

Selinae looked at Kestrell and then carefully ran her eyes over him with a perplexed look then turned towards Phaedra, " I'm not really seeing any sort of stallion resemblance at all.....I think your more like a wild goat, Kestrell. Especially with the beard thing....well, sort of beard anyway."
" Goats are very useful, and strong....hard headed but they have very sure footing."
Would it be unusal to see someone of Mrs Hornraven's status around Trollskull Ally? It does not strike me as an area that many nobles would visit.
OOC: Trollskull Ally isn't noble in and of itself but it is upscale. And it is located in the North Ward where there are some noble estates. Also, she was coming out a private detective's office so she was there for a purpose. tl;dr Not an everyday occurrence but not unusual either.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"So we have two apparent options - 1. go investigate the Temple of Gond to see if anyone knows anything about this puppet character that was skulking on rooftops and left their god's holy symbol behind at the scene of the explosion and/or 2. try to find Mrs. Hornraven for further questioning... on the off chance that she wasn't disclosing everything initially. Since the first option seems more promising to me and I wouldn't recommend splitting up the party after the bakery incident, I'm with Kes and Silver - let's sally forth to Gondor!"
Vassa, who prior to speaking up had been sitting quietly while handling a small package and a couple of metal balls, gets up and strides to the door. Gesturing outside, it is clear that the bard is happy to lead the way to the temple.
[OOC] history check to see if Vassa knows anything more specific about Gond or his temple: 17
*Sigh* Does Vassa at least know where the temple is, or does he lead them on a scenic tour?
