Asariel joins Vassa at the bar and orders a drink she mutters to herself "dirty tavern... gross" and other things along those lines
'Seeing Asariel approach and hoping that maybe the charming tiefling might have better luck with getting any remaining information from the barkeep and the two drinkers, Vassa steps back from the bar, saying to tiefling as he does so,'
"Hey Asa, how rude of me. Considering how close you and dear Floon were, of course you should be the one to ask these questions!"
'Under his breath, Vassa whispers mischieviously as she walks by,'
"Hey hotstuff - you've got this. Hit'em with that devilish charm of yours!"
'Vassa then goes and sits down next to Kari and Gamin, pulling out his deck of cards, saying,'

Kari's eyes brighten up at the cards. "We're always in the mood for some Three-Dragon Ante. Come on Gamin." he says as he pats the other man on the shoulder and they get up from the bar and walk over to a table in the corner while motioning for Vassa to follow.
[OCC]: Vassa, going to need you to state how much you're wagering and roll three checks: Wisdom (Insight), Charisma (Deception), and Charisma (Intimidation). If the character has proficiency with an appropriate gaming set, that tool proficiency can replace the relevant skill in any of the checks.
Standing there alone at the bar Lockbox starts to wonder if they were ever going to find answers. He couldn’t tell if they even got answers, maybe they did and he missed it? He walks over to a stool and slowly sits down, steam releasing from the small valves in his legs making a small ‘whooshing’ sound.
“A lad like me, so lost at sea, grinnging hard an’ don’ mean to gloat...you’re swimming for shore and I have a boat. Yes, I have a boat. Yes, I have a boat. You’re swimming with the sharks and I have a boat.” He starts singing one of the songs he learned at sea 🌊, one of the ones the sea dogs he travelled with would sing as they swabbed the decks or cut meats for stew. Staring blankly at the floor, he continues his song. Starting to become oblivious to the boredom of his surroundings.

'Sizing up the two men at the table, Vassa (not surprisingly and not for the first/last time) decides to throw caution to the wind, calling out to Lockbox at the next table,'
"Hey Locky. How much coin do you have on you? Would you like to double it... minus a small dealers fee, a relatively insignificant bardic surcharge and the obligatory drow involvement tariff? Fortunately, you get half-off on that last one!"
[OOC] Should Lockbox be so kind as to stake Vassa the coin, the half-drow bets it ALL! So, seeing as Vassa plans to cheat the hell out of this game, am I rolling a Deception check?
Also, Vassa has been burned once already recently, and is looking for any advantage he can gain. So he's going to ask Lockbox to sit at the table with the three players, and as he deals the cards he'll tell them all about the (made up, he's assuming) horribly violent, blood curdling, viscera rending deeds that the dreaded Warbot'o'death has committed in its time - trying to gain advantage - happy to make an intimidate check or have Locky make one if he'll play along.

As you all join Kari and Gamin at the table your discussion has a visible impact on Kari. He keeps stealing nervous glances at Lockbox. Gamin on the other hand is just looking around with the half open eyes of a clearly drunk individual. At the mention of playing something other than 3 Dragon Ante both men are taken aback? "What ye talking 'bout. This is a 3 Dragon Ante bar, not one of your fancy folk bars. We always play 3 Dragon Ante here!" exclaims Gamin. "My friend has the right of it, but I might be willing to learn a new game ifing yous teach us all the rules before we put money on the table." adds Kari. Gamin won't hear of it, he stands to walk away. "I play 3 Dragon Ante. If yous ain't playing that I'm no interested."
[OOC] Vassa, you definitely win the deception for the crossbow, we'll get to that once we know who's playing and what y'all are playing.
Once that's decided, we'll let Vassa state how much the wager is and then everyone at the table will need to roll three checks: Wisdom (Insight), Charisma (Deception), and Charisma (Intimidation). Who knows, you may like it. And we can always try a round of Three Dragon Ante afterwards, you'll need a chance to win your money back after all, haha!"

After all the fussing Gamin sits back down, "Fine, but I be watching. I no gamble on a game I no know."
Kari pats Gamin on the back and nods reassuringly at him while Vassa goes over the rules of this Pohkhar game. The group plays a sample hand, no bet. Everyone's comfortable with the game. Kestrell is up 2 gold and Vassa has won 8 gold. Kari and Gamin and very unhappy and are doing a bit of grumbling.

"Now, now, lads. I'm sure it'll all level out in the end. The trick is in riding out the bad luck until the good comes back around again! Now how about that game of Wyvern's?"
'Looking around for the halfling waitress, Vassa (now in noticeably better spirits) calls out,'

The waitress blushes as she listens to the bard. ""Adelaide, sir. Adelaide Wheatflow."
As Vassa continues to flirt with the waitress she manages to walk backwards to the bar and then return with the drinks everyone.
Kari comes back to the table and tosses Gamin 3 gold, "Here's what I owed ya. Now I'm only under to Eddie, but I already owed him for some drink, ha!" As Kari sits he starts to go over the rules of the game with everyone and then throws out a gold coin for the first round.
Gamin looks to Vassa, "If your dun flirtin let's play some cards."

"Well, would you look at that? Doubled my money. Not to shabby! I'll have to remember how this is played so I can share it with a couple of the guys back home."
Perception: 21
"Are you boys ready to try a little Three Dragon Ante? See if you can win some of this back?"
"Well ain't that a stroke of luck, Kes! And agreed, le'ts try this Four Wyvern's Aunty game now, shall we? 'Fair is fair' after all, like my pipe smokin' grandma always used to say."

She's the Dragon's one true queen, though she gently plays her parts
Her smile mens' spirits gladen, her tray their thirst tethers
She's comes lightly on her feet, but leaves heavy on their hearts..."
[OOC] I rolled my perception check (14) as an edit at the end of my last post. Charisma check (+ prof with advantage for the verse, reduce as needed or desired) to win 'Goldie's' affections - 11

[OOC] This time around, rather than having the NPCs just roll a single DC, I'm going to try having NPCs make the same roles and the PCs. Let's see how that works out.
