As the party gathers on the shore, Phae starts praying, Vassa just flops on the ground next to Phae, Silver checks himself for injuries, Elon sits and focuses on the stone, and Sel starts interrogating the gnome, " So...whats your story?"

The gnome, obviously shaken by the whole experience of nearly drowning and then being grabbed by his attackers, looks up in a bit of wide eyed shock at Sel before looking into the bay at the sight of the smoking rising from the water where the turtle had been. He has a gash on his face and on his left arm, both of which are bleeding. Taking a deep, shaky breath the gnome speaks, "I am Ciddnick. I was part of the repair crew for Big Belchy which you all just sank only minutes after we finally got it working." By the end of Ciddnick's sentence there was some heat in his voice. He was clearly unhappy but was attempting to control his emotions when he continued. "What do you want? Am I to be killed or is there something I can do to be allowed to return to my family?"

Phae, will you be healing Ciddnick the gnome as well?

Elon, sent ya a private message.

" Why were you working with those drow?", she said indicating the bodies.

"A drow hired us to fix Big Belchy. I assume they worked for the same drow."

 " Ah.  Makes sense. Wait! Are there still gnomes aboard or just drow?", Selinae said suddenly panicked.

"Just gnomes. We have spent weeks down there working on that turtle to make it work again. We got word to pick up the other drow on our way to turn the turtle over to the drow that hired us. Now they gotta repair all the damage you caused before they can turn the turtle over."

As Pheadra kneels and prays to Mystra to heal her friends, her angelic wings slowly fold and disappear, her eyes fading from bright golden orbs to her normal pale blue.

OCC: Healing for 11

Pheadra will also heal the gnome. Poor little guy.

(Yeah that's right, get the good rolls for Healing but damage I was rolling 1s the entire time!)

Selinae looked aghast, " Ah.....that turtle is on its way to the bottom last I saw it. Do the other gnomes have means of getting out and to the surface safely?"

" I don't feel bad about stopping you from aiding known murderers and other nefarious sorts but I don't want any of you to die either."

Feeling the healing power flow through him, Ciddnick looks to Phaedra, "Thank you for healing me." Looking back to Selinae, "I know it's on it's way to the bottom. That's why I said they would have to fix it again. If you could have waited to break it until after we turned it over we would have been able to make a profit on this job but now they'll have to fix it again and then turn it over. As for the others being murderers, I don't know. But the only violence I saw was yourself, ma'am. And you still haven't said if you're going to kill me or let me go."

Phaedra give the gnome her best motherly concerned face.

"We mean you no harm good sir. We are on the hunt for those that are hear to harm the city and its citizens, not innocents. You are not involved in the murders,  those drow had been." 

OCC: Does Phaedra think he's telling the truth about just being here to fix the contraption and not being involved in the murders and what the drow had been up to? Insight  20

Selinae shrugged, " I just want to know if your people are still aboard the turtle and need saving from drowning. I don't overly care what your opinion is of me."

" How was I to know the turtle wasn't full of more drow off to murder some more innocent citizens?"

"Let this fool go.  And then while we can still breathe underwater, let's rescue the mechanical turtle."

Kestrell dives back into the water.

Phaedra does feel like the gnome is being truthful.

"No, my kin won't drown. They have enough supplies and equipment down there to work for at least another week before they'll need anything. And I'll see that they're restocked when I get a charter boat to take me back out there." Looking around at everyone and then back to Sel, "I guess I can understand your haste, but can you understand my point of view as well? You literally beat your way into the turtle while others were attacking folks we were asked to pick up. It seemed more than a mite bit odd to say the least. But I do appreciate your concern for my kin. Umm... am I free to go now?"

"How asked you to pick them up? If you don't mind me asking?"

Sel looks pleased and relieved and fishes Kestrell out of the water, " So? Back to shark hunting?"

Kestrell sputters and coughs.  "Hey there, Serinade."

Silver just walks over and listens as the gnome explains everything.
