[OOC] Vassa has trouble getting a read on Raener at first until he notices Raener tapping his foot seemingly in impatience. Probably in a hurry to go find his friend.
"Celebrating at the 3rd, second, or first finest establishment sounds great to me! And so does having help with this silver and paintings. One question though. How do we know where to start looking in the sewers? I imagine it will be unpleasant, and we should try to minimize the amount of time we spend down there."
Renaer thinks about it for a moment, "I know a guy who might be willing and able to help... if I can find him. Help me keep an eye out for a half drow fellow as we head north. He's not a entertaining as Vassa but he'll be good to have along." Looking around and seeing the guards have gathered all the loot, "Are we ready to head out?"

"Good question, Kes. I've never heard of a pleasant sewer, so I'm guessing that you're right. But as my dear old gran used to say, if you're going into a sewer, you might as well look like shit."
'Turning to follow Raenor, Vassa says the last looking down with a *sigh* at his dour and unfashionable Zhent uniform.'

I merely know what she had to say on these things. But from what little I can recall of her from my early youth, she's the most interesting kin I have... or had.
The paintings? Some of the great cities of Faerun, of course. I recognised all four from ballads and songs that I've heard about them; Waterdeep - the City of Splendours herself, Neverwinter - the City of Skilled Hands, Silverymoon - the Gem of the North and Luskan - the City of Sails. Decent work at first glance, though I'd like to take a closer look at some stage."

As the party passes Trollcrook Alley and nears a small unnamed alley you all hear a small explosion from the southwest. The explosion is followed by yelling, another explosion, and more yelling. You can tell the source of the yelling and explosions are very close by.
One of the people yelling is mostly hurling insults about someone's parentage and bloodline. The other is yelling questions such as "Who are you?" and "What do you want?" as well as insults.
Upon hearing the noise, Renaer runs the 20 feet or so ahead and then carefully peaks around the corner [#1 on map]. Then, seeming to throw caution into the wind, Renaer yells"Silver!"and rushes into the alley. As the rest of the party gets to the spot where Renaer paused you look around the corner to see Renaer standing next to a half Drow elf, both with their backs to the wall at the next cross alley [#2 on map]. The explosions and more yelling appear to be come from around the corner.
[OOC] I know we have a couple folks who haven't posted recently. I'm assuming they're all following along because surely none of them would want to split the party. So, right now all of you are near the #1 on the map.
Silver just nodded as Renaer yelled to him as he draws an arrow to release it at the elven man swearing at him, his sighting a little off as it missed. His face showed relief at the appearance of a friend “Renaer good to see ya. Excuse me for a second, there’s a racist prick trying to kill me.” He released the second arrow he had drawn and took a deep breath when it hit the man.
“My friends are here now you racist prick – leave with your life or die, the choice is yours.” He yelled from behind the corner, hoping his voice and words would intimidate the man enough to leave.

Silver stands at 5’6’’ though appearing shorter right now as he is crouched with his back to the wall. His obsidian skin blending nicely with the night and his silver hair clinging due to sweat against his brow and neck. He looks at the man, lilac eyes staring at him.
“Either that or he’s angry my mother is a prostitute – and since he has never met her or been a client of hers I don’t think it’s that one.” It at this moment he puts the bow away and draws his swords “If he doesn’t run – think you all can cover me enough to get me close.”

'Vassa is peering back into the ally, trying to catch sight of their antagonist, when he hears the strangely accented Elvish tongue using similar inflection to that employed by the half-duegar language tutor that he'd paid. And then that one distinctive word... iblith... steals his attention.'
'Noting the mans fighting style and thinking back to his favourite childhood tales of a certain paragon drow hero, before nodding his head in appreciation at this fellow's guile, Vassa replies,'
"What - no scimitars? And silver, gold or platinum... we've got you covered."
'Vassa pulls out and loads his crossbow, still trying to catch sight of this mysterious attacker... hoping that the person hasn't fled yet, but despondently noting the now empty and silent second allyway.'
D&D is a game, but it's not just a game. It's the ultimate storyboard, a campfire to share with friends, an imaginary call to imaginary arms and a ship to sail to horizons yet undreamt of...

"Replace you? Hell, we were looking for you. You're not going to believe the last two days I've had. Damned Zhentarim grabbed Floon and I. Then some Xanathar thugs broke in and killed the Zhents and were suppose to kidnap me only they grabbed Floon by mistake. These fine folks" waves hand over Vassa as if he weren't one man standing there but a whole group, "rescued me while they were looking for Floon. Anyway, it looks like we're heading into the sewers and could use a guide and probably another sword."

Silver just smirks as he pulls his hair back into a ponytail revealing the full sharpness of his ears - now that it is out of his face the charm of the man can be seen by those looking at him. He just picked up his bow and attached it to his belt.
"Glad to know I'm popular - well sounds like they hired horrible kidnappers then. This is why you pay good money for services, prevents cheap work." as Renaer waves his hand he just blinks "I'm going to assume there are more people around, versus Renaer just forgetting that one does not make plural." he holds his dark hand out to the fellow half-elf "Silver, always a pleasure to meet a fellow half-breed."

Kestrell steps out from behind Vassa:
"Hello, and well met. I am Kestrell Rangerson. That's a nice bow you have there."
