The cleric looks past Elon to Breez, "Welcome to Trollskull Manor Breez, the soon to be shining tavern of the area. I am Phaedra Starcaller, humble servant of Mystra, Mother of Magic. So you have come inquiring about the job. Which job? Is it the windows as Elon refers? Are you also a member of the Zhentarim or even the Xanathar's Guild? Or did I forget someone?"
Breez, slightly confused at the list of names and guilds, shakes his head slightly in amazement before responding.
"Well, I can assure you I do not know much about any of those. I am here because I am currently renting a shack in Waterdeep, and I need a more steady source of income. I heard around town from some locals that there was a new tavern opening up and I was hoping, that maybe, you were in need of a bouncer? I haven't known many taverns to go without one."
Elon smiles and nods. He slowly raises his hands to show he is not a threat, then makes his way to the nearest chair to sit. “I understand the confusion. Some other ‘Black Network’ tried to take control of the Xanathar Guild and failed but it started a street war. We would like to put an end to it and bring peace to the city”
Elon gestures to the dwarf, “I have had many fine drinks from your group, pity you did not bring any elven wine” he says forcing a smile to the dwarf.
Elven Wine! Bah, that stuff is much to delicate. Bason forces a smile back. "Thank you for the complement. I will pass it along to the guild. I mostly focus on Dwarven Ale's, Meads, and Whiskies, myself. But, I can arrange for some wine to be brought here."
As Breez enters, Bason will turn to him and say with a small bow, "Hullo Breez, a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am Bason CrimsonBrow."
Bason will follow the group if they go with Elon. If they have some time before they go, he will look around to see if there are any serviceable cups in the area. investigation1

You are unable to find any cups. However Lif sees you looking and motions for you to look at the far end of the bar where you find a dozen, rather dusty, mugs.
Simply sitting back on the rickety stool until now enjoying the non-threatening chaos of the moment, as Phaedra directs a few questions his way the bard looks over with a smile and says,'
"To be honest, Phaedra, I was hoping that Silver would be able to shed more light on my attacker's motives, since it would seem likely that he was the same drow antagonist that was trying to kill Silver when we first met him. I am entirely unsure if he's Zhent, Xanathar... or something else, or he's after me now specifically now for some reason, if he mistook me for Silver or if he just wants to wipe out half-elves generally.
To answer your question, Phaedra... I don't know a lot about the Zhents at all, apart from the fact that they're a rival organisation also called the Black Network who are currently at war with Xanathar's Guild. The Zhents have both criminal and legitimate interests from what little I've heard. I know a lot more about Xanathar's Guild... but might leave off having that discussion until we're all a bit clearer on who is with whom... and exactly what they want with us.
But if I may take a step back for a moment. Elon... you're a Zhent... and so is Yagra? So when we intervened in the Portal, we weren't saving an innocent from a beating, but rather unknowingly getting involved in the gang war that we have since come to witness raging throughout the city? Well... I guess that explains a few things. Ha!
Firstly, Elon, Phaedra's absolutely right - you certainly are bold strolling in here and annoucing such. I usually like bold, but am undecided in this case. Secondly, Kes is also right - I don't think any of us should be wandering off with you to meet said Zhent agent.... regardless of how pretty a last name he may have."
Shaking his head in genuine bewilderment, Vassa thinks to himself Why'd you take off, Silver. I may dabble in criminal hijinks, but about now we could use an expert.

Kestrell sips the ale, decides he likes it and then takes several big chugs.

We don’t really operate that way anymore. We are hired swords more then anything now. My parents were killed when apartment building was struck by lightening, or so I’m told. Breez, acknowledging Vassa, nods, completely understanding of the situation.
"I agree, there really isn't a need for a bouncer for a place that doesn't really exist yet. We can treat this as a tryout."
He then proceeds to listen to the group, doing his best to take in all the information.
"Bason - I know that we've just met, but I already feel like you're the dwarven brother that I never had. And this is a fine drop of ale, though I'm more partial to wine myself.

Bason's freeze for a moment at the "Dwarven brother" comment, but regain's his composure quickly. "Aye, Dwarven Brother's are nice. Anyways. A discount? You'd have to talk to the individual sellers to ask for discounts, I'm afraid. I can help to introduce you to the fine folk of the VDBG and be able to get you the best drinks around. Otherwise, you would probably end up getting that swill that them nobles make, thinking it's quality product. Not to mention, if I'm making an exclusive Ale here, then you can monopolize on it and charge a fair amount for it. I can also make other Ale's, Mead's, and whiskey's that can be sold to other establishments, which should cover the guild fees. You all could buy them at cost, as well! If I'm to stay here, that is."
Breez, after entering, glances over at Bason and greets him back, raising a hand as he sees him bow.
"Hello Bason, it is nice to meet you as well, but please, don't bow. I am not of that status."
Bason will respond to Breez "Nonsense. 'You must greet everyone with respect and courtesy', that's what my mum always says. Hanseath help me if she ever saw me being disrespectful on a first meeting!"
Bason will go up to Elon, shove a mug in his hand. "Stop being so sad, little elf. Drink some ale and be happy! A trip to the portal is never a bad idea. But for now, a toast! To the reopening of Trollskull Manor, or whatever it is you want to call this place! Huzzah!" With that, Bason will drain his dirty mug in one gulp and slams his cup down on the... pretty sure that was table once. "There should be enough for another round, or would you lot prefer to save it for later?"
"I think I will be fine for now Bason. It is still early morning and we have much to do today, maybe even pay the Yawning Portal a visit after Silver returns. Though I do not know why everyone seems to be excited about the prosecute of rummaging through that dark dank dungeon, especially when we have this place to set up."
The cleric looks down at her still half full mug and swishes the ale around "So you are saying Elon that you have no idea what Davil wishes to talk to us about? Interesting"
"So if you do not know much about the wishes of your guild, what do you know about the Xanathar then and why they wish to war with...well...yourself?"

Elon turns his attention to Phaedra “we don’t normally ‘war’ with anyone, just some minor squabbles. The Xanathars are an unofficial thieves guild. We believe they were infiltrated by another group and tried to take it over. At this point, we just want to restore peace before the Watch runs everyone off. "If Davil wants to meet with us in the Yawning Portal, I feel better about that. Let's get our shopping done and then go to the tavern. I think we've had enough guild business come for one day. This place will be in tip-top shape in no time."

"Do not forget Breez Vassa" Phaedra adds, looking into the depths of her mug to triple check that it is clean. She pulls her head back at the strength of the ale before gingerly taking a sip, letting out a cough.
"Very...flavorsome Bason, yes flavorsome."
Phaedra blinks "Where did Silver run off to anyway?" she says as she looks around for the other half-drow.
Fixing her pale blue eyes back on Elon, she offers the elf a smile once more. "I am always interested in hearing about the Zhentarims plans, especially when they involve me. I may have been...a little...ahh what's the word... protective of my friends. But I assure you I do not mean offense to those that have good intentions, and I know that this war on the streets is causing issues for Waterdeep and her citizens. Do continue and have some ale."

Vassa merely smiles at Phaedra, thinking to himself Nah, Breez seems an easy enough one - just another fellow looking for a job and a roof, but doesn't say anything as he waits to hear Elon and Bason's responses.

Kestrell hands Bason his travel mug and motions for him to fill it up. "I've got my own mug, here. Ah, thank you very much."
Kestrell sips the ale, decides he likes it and then takes several big chugs.
Hearing Phaedra mention coffee, Kestrell replies: "Yes, I could brew up another pot of Range Coffee if anyone wants some. I'm pretty content with this Redbow ale though."
"I don't know what all these groups and guilds that you all are talking about are. I'm just a simple man from a small village, far, far away. It sounds like there is a lot going on though, war in the streets?!? To be honest, I'm having trouble following all of it."
Elon looks around the room see everything went wrong with this encounter “I can only tell you what I know for myself. The Zhentarim have a shadowy past. All the guilds do. We don’t really operate that way anymore. We are hired swords more then anything now. My parents were killed when apartment building was struck by lightening, or so I’m told. A retired veteran of Zhentarim took me in as a babe and trained me. Once I was old enough to join the guild I did cause it was all I knew. I was hoping that coming here would lead to something more then just being a messenger boy. I want to see the world and learn more about ny family and my magic abilities. I never ment any hostility. As for Davil, he will not come here but if you plan to go to the portal, that’s were he wants to meet” he says feeling long winded, hoping to ease the tension.

Breez, after entering, glances over at Bason and greets him back, raising a hand as he sees him bow.
"Hello Bason, it is nice to meet you as well, but please, don't bow. I am not of that status."
Breez, acknowledging Vassa, nods, completely understanding of the situation.
"I agree, there really isn't a need for a bouncer for a place that doesn't really exist yet. We can treat this as a tryout."
He then proceeds to listen to the group, doing his best to take in all the information.

Bason will fill Kestrell's mug with the mug he offered him. When Kestrell starts chugging it, Bason will laugh "Ha ha! Now that's how you drink it!"

Besides, it’s bad for business.” He drinks down his ale, “ahhh good stuff”

"As Phaedra mentions, it is still morning, so you better top me off. No sense letting the air get to that ale before we do!" Kestrell holds out his empty mug for a refill.
"If Davil wants to meet with us in the Yawning Portal, I feel better about that. Let's get our shopping done and then go to the tavern. I think we've had enough guild business come for one day. This place will be in tip-top shape in no time."
"And Phaedra, we want to rummage around through that dark, dank dungeon because it is there!" Kestrell adds under his breath: "And hopefully we won't have to hear about all this guild talk and warring factions while we are down there."
