The Long Road of the Mage King (Game Thread)

Tock circles around the wagon and takes a shot over the back of a horse (stealth check: 18) at BBY2:

 Attack: 26 Damage: 16

Stones runs back to I11, drops his scimitars and pulls out his daggers. He twists his body at the waist and clangs his daggers together while making a flinging motion towards BBY3 and casting Shatter at 3rd level “This will break you!”

Damage 12

(No chance I'd have been flanking the bugbear with the wolves, would I?!)

Tock's bolt runs right through the bugbear, felling it instantly. (Changed the target to BBG3 since BBY2 is already downed by Bulwark.)

CON(14) save for BBY3:  3 (Hit! and the bugbear falls, lifeless.)

Stones, focused on winding up his spell, does not notice Bulwark standing too close to the bugbear target. The warforged gets caught in the deafening blast.

Bulwark CON(14) save (at disadvantage for being inorganic) : 9 (Hit!)

BBY1 (the last remaining bugbear) charges west and hurls a javelin across the marshy terrain at Stones in angry retaliation.

Javelin Attack: 24 Damage: 20

The javelin flies swiftly and true, striking the tabaxi in his side in a skillful attack.

(Keyrie and Bulwark are up!)

No, the wolves are not near that bugbear. Tock took it down, though. Er...I think. He fired at a bugbear that wasn't there any more so I had him kill BBG3.

Gash says to the lone Bugbear in goblin, "Give us your valuables. Give us your food. Give us your horses... and you may walk away."

“Oh! I’m so sorry about that Bulwark! That’s the first time I’ve used that trick. I need to be more careful!”

Keyrie will walk over to Genny and pick her up while motioning for all the wolves and Myon to surround her. "Are you okay little one? Were you hit in the cross fire at all?"

Less than 20 seconds has passed, so Gentoa is still surprised by everything that has happened. She is still clumsily pulling up her breeches. Seeing Keyrie's concern, she bursts into tears and clings to the firbolg's leg.

Meanwhile, the last remaining bugbear gestures rudely at Gash and pounds his own chest in defiance.

(Bulwark is up.)

(Is combat over?) (Scratch that just saw the above post, sorry)

One bugbear left, giving Gash the finger after stabbing Stones brutally in his side.

“Ow”

Bulwark will put the sword and shield away, and recklessly charge over to the last bugbear with his maul.

Attack: 13 Damage: 12

Should that kill him, Bulwark will release his rage and and sheathe his weapons, before slowly making his way back to the group, sloshing through the mud. "Rueful: It is alright, Stones. However that spell I believe was particular harmful to me. Perhaps do not use it where it may get me in the future?"

The bugbear sidesteps Bulwark's swing and it misses him by mere inches.

(Dog is up! Aaand also the farthest from the last enemy. After Dog, Stones, Gash, and Tock can all go.)

The goliath's tall frame watches the last bugbear around him fall, and he frowns at the senselessness of it all. His eyes dart first to the wall of force, which he dispells with a thought to see Genny protected by Keyrie and the animals and he breathes a big sigh of relief. But he still hears combat on the other side of the long road. He moves to the east a bit to get a bead on any remaining threats and see the last bugbear flipping off someone.

"Rude," he mutters as he concentrates on a stone in front of him, which levitates up and then flies up to 90 feet in a blur right at the bugbear (casting catapult for his remaining spell slot). If it failed a DEX 15 saving throw, it takes 15 bludgeoning damage. 

DEX(15) check: 9

The bugbear catches the rock out of the corner of his eye and rolls backward, dodging it.

(Stones, Gash, and Tock are up.)
