"Yes, we have 3 rooms available at the moment," the night clerk says to Gash with a suspicious look. "It is 2 gold per room plus 2 and a half gold for the included meals per guest. For two rooms and 5 guests, it will be 16 gold and 5 silver." She cringes ever so slightly in anticipation of the shock Gash will express at the price.
Neventi clomps down the stairs with her pack, saying absently, "I have the strangest feeling I have packed and repacked this thing a dozen times..."
She looks up and stops dead in her tracks. "You...are checking me and Gentoa out of the inn right now...right?"
Dog nods to Gash after the night clerk offers gives the prices.
When she comes down the stairs, he steps up between Gash and Neventi in a gracious, friendly manner.
"Nev, we are leaving tomorrow morning, I promise. Three reasons. One, it's late at night and you and Genny should be resting, as should we all be. Two, the horses we've located will be ready tomorrow morning, not tonight. Three, we've had a very, very, very long day that I cannot wait to tell you all about when we're all of sound mind and have plenty of time to chat while on the Long Road. I know you are eager to get a move on. I am too. Do we have a time limit to get to our destination? And I thought you might want to get to know Martin and Althus a bit before we head out, as they'll be taking the places of Stones and Keyrie. We lost the other horses and cart along the way to Masa. Another long story, but Keyrie and Stones decided to go a long ways back to protect the horses and cart instead of you and Genny. Speaking of which, is Genny asleep upstairs?"
He looks pleadingly at his smoother, more personable companions for help.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Neventi grits her teeth, her nostrils flaring. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. "I wish you had told me before I packed that we still do not have horses."
She closes ere eyes, placing fingertips on her temple as she takes calming breaths. At last she opens them and looks at the night clerk. "Ma'am," she says.
The night clerk smiles and nods before Neventi can finish. "I will keep your room another night, Ms. Drahm."
"Thank you," she says flatly. "I will see you all in the morning, then."
Neventi hauls her pack back up the stairs to her room to go to bed.
The night clerk shows the party to their two rooms, which are across the hall from each other on the third floor, one floor above Neventi and Gentoa.
Martin finds a dark corner to lean against a building. It gives him a good sight line on almost every window of Axonia's suite and it is away from the streetlights. Even so, After only 2 hours of keeping his watch, a pair of officers on patrol spot him as they walk by, almost close enough to touch him.
"Oi!" says one of them, putting a hand on his short sword. "You can't stay here. Go to the Shacks or find a room for the night, mate."
(I am assuming we got rooms for the night and Martin doesn't have to sleep on the streets if he doesn't want to?)
Seeing the apparent urgency hasn't left Nev, and that these details still require his attention, Dog will sleep immediately upon getting access to a room, wake up as soon as he's had a long rest, and ask Gash for some party funds to buy horses and a cart. (He'll also ask Gash if he can cast that cursebreaking spell, suggesting they try it once Nev is asleep when they're on the road that night.) He'll ask for help of someone else in the party to get plenty of good provisions with more party funds. He will ask the clerk if there is somewhere nearby where he can buy a cart as well as one draft or riding horse, if the inn does not have any for sale. He will buy the cart and draft or riding horse the party needs where the clerk suggests. He will then rush out to ol' Whistle to see if he's awake, adopting his disguise, and knocking loudly to wake him up and handing him the 160 gold and leading the horses back to the Wheat and Mane.
[I am hoping that completes my horse-buying and Nev-wrangling for the day! Others please feel free to jump in to help or offer solutions! Dog/his player would both very much like to bash something with a hammer.]
message to Dog: "Don't take a it personally. We'll fix her up soon."
"Ms. Drahm was it? My name is Gregory. I'm sorry for my appearance. I understand the hesitation. But the price is no problem." Gash pulls out 18 gold from his personal pouch."The extra bit is for you, for a favor. As you can see, Neventi is quite anxious to get going. Could you please have someone pick up our horses early in the morning. We could use the extra winks and to leave as soon as possible would be just a treat for us all. Oh and that one doesn't eat. So, keep that bit of extra coin as well. My friends are very important to me. I just want to see them all well taken care of."

If this is a course of action, we will do this before any horse buying, since it will happen first.

This we will do second, since it won't be until the morning. Also, he quoted 170, unless you intend to short change him.

(Oh I meant when they're on the road, ostensibly camped somewhere, not the same night at the inn. Didn't want Gash sneaking into her room and dealing with another miscommunication like before. Just an old-fashioned cursebreaking 'round the campfire.)(And no I meant 170, didn't mean to shortchange.)(I promise not to leave horses behind anymore!! Damn you, teleports and timetables!)

Can Martin sleep outside the inn? or sit in the common room etc?
Paladin - warforged - orange
There is a chance outside. No way on the common areas.
Then Martin will be outside.

I was going off the assumption Gash had already gotten rooms, ha... yes let's get a room or two for convenience
At the Wheat and Mane or somewhere else?
Wheat and Mane, yes...
Ah, yes, I think I stopped reading at Gash talking to Nev, since Nev wasn't there!
