"You have asked about the... package that your captain ordered and you have asked for some knowledge of this place. Fortunately, in speaking of the first, I shall elaborate... albeit briefly... on the second.
As your employer no doubt told you prior to sending you to me, we agreed on a price in gold for the item he desired. However, as this thing proved harder to acquire than either of us anticipated, I have requested additional recompense for my efforts, to which the good captain has wisely agreed. A’ro just smiled and listened to his companions talk to the woman as she walked them through her house – taking in the inner workings of the place and particularly what the woman was doing with that black stone. He began to try and recall anything that he might know about what the woman had just done, wondering if any of his companions had noticed the woman’s magical workings. When it hit him a small smirk crossed his face as he just stared at the woman 'Oh you cheeky woman'. This was definitely an interesting place for A’ro, with so much ancient artifacts gathered around his mind began to wonder a little ‘I wonder if she might know anything about the staff’
It was when the woman began to spout things off at the companions, he looked at them more than her ‘Had Vaken mentioned his tribe to her? What does she mean Mr. Brook when referring to Kestrell.’ This woman was becoming more and more intriguing to A’ro as his eyes drifted back around the room and his now small smirk was full on grin.
“So we just go into the woods to find a book and bring it back – what dangers might we encounter going after this book?”A’ro asked looking at the woman, he wanted to make sure they knew what they were walking into.
Caught off guard by the woman's words Vaken knew his face totally betrayed the question in his mind, but he was just barely able to stop it from coming from his lips. This Naskeen was not one to underestimate. Now uncomfortable, Vaken was ready to go. He slowly started to edge toward the door while appearing to just be observing the decor of the cottage.

'Naskeen's shreded half-melted face turns to regard Vaken as he edges along one of the book cases towards the door. The apothecary utters no words, though the dry and broken whispering sound of the woman's chuckle carries through the room like crackling twigs in a campfire.'

"Yes, wind-born. A simple task, I'm sure you would agree.
As for what you might expect... well, I've made clear the peculiar nature of this place. You will find creatures here that you would find elsewhere, except here such will be warped by a lingering and miscontrued connection to the Feywild. Though I have never entered the tunnels themselves, beyond the cave entrance I believe that you will find twisted creatures that feed on the conjured fears of their intended prey... as well as their flesh and fluids. I can tell you no more of the caves except this - its denizens will likely strike with venom in addition to fang or claw. Such is the way of this wonderful yet fell forest fragment. Its very nature inevitably causes the lurking darkness within its resident creatures to manifest as a caustic and vile venom.
And... well, such is all I know of the caves and its native creatures. More of the Wood and the surrounding lands I know, but now is not the time for casual discourse. Time is... pressing, after all."
[OOC] Everyone except for Vaken should make an insight check and read the below spoiler if your score is 15 or higher:
'It seems that Naskeen means to say something different after speaking of the Wispwood's venomous creatures, but then changes her mind or thinks better of it. Her blank stare flicks ever so briefly towards Kay's face, then returns to sightlessly perusing your entire party.'

But I am not in the habit of giving without receiving, for such is not the way I have been taught. You are here at the behest of your employer, your captain, to act on his behalf for a boon already settled upon. What then could you then offer me for my aid in your duty?
Though there is perahps, something... My calling requires that I stock and use a great range of things, materials and ingredients taken from plant and beast, as well as other rarer substances of even less certain origins. Should you pledge to return some of these items to me, items likely to be found around or within the cave, then I would willingly grant you the contents of the tin. In particular, I require intact venom sacks from any small or larger denizens of the cave, as well as no less than five amberspeckle mushrooms which are known to grow in the area you must enter.
What say you... adventurers?"

'Kay's mind races anxiously through every horrid tale she knows about the woods and fey creatures. It doesn't take long because she doesn't know many, but she shivers involuntarily for a moment before grabbing one hand with the other to steady herself. You're a privateer now, Kaitlyn, and you've faced death more'n once. Don't just put on a brave face, time to BE brave.' She nods, "The deal is struck then. Shall we on Masters? Gents? 'Naskeen takes Kays hand lightly in one her own, less a clasp and more a gentle touching of fingers. The apothecary's hand feels damp and ice-cold, almost as it must have felt last night upon the wharf amidst the howling wind-driven sea spray. Despite the lightness of their touching, the woodswoman's nails leave minor scratches and the impression of cold iron upon Kays soft flesh.'
"This all sounds good, Ms. Naskeen, but who is this old friend of yours that will guide us? "
'As he is talking, Kestrell reaches out to touch the tiny cage with the translucent butterfly.'
'In answer to Kestrell's question, Naskeen cocks her head ever-so-slightly to the side... and a moment later the flapping of black feathered wings and a defeaning *CAWWWW* fills the small room as the raven from outside swoops through the doorway to land upon the unexpecting navigator's right shoulder, its settling wings smelling of Summer winds and long wet grass, its piercing yellow eyes cocked and staring, scant inches from Kestrell's own. The large birds talons dig somewhat uncomfortably into the bard's shoulder, as the apothecary mutters with apparent wry humour,'
"A friend who is as reliable as he is cantankerous. Mind your tongue, hair and eyes around this one, Mr. Brook. Worms here cares little for bubbling waters and honeyed words."
'Naskeen reaches out to replace the tiny cage in the bard's hands with the small tin full of glass vials, placing the fluttering though almost invisible butterfly back upon the shelf.'

'The startling volume of the belligerant raven's *CAWWW* directly into his face almost sends Kestrell reeling, as Worms lifts off with a *whoosh* of its black wings, swooping the room to exit in a flurry of feathers. The yellow-eyed creature alights upon Vaken's broad shoulder as the goliath stands upon the cottage's wind-swept porch at the top of its few stairs. Naskeen shakes her head at something only she apparently sees or hears, but says to you all as she gestures towards the door,'

“So we just go into the woods to find a book and bring it back – what dangers might we encounter going after this book?” A’ro asked looking at the woman, he wanted to make sure they knew what they were walking into.

[OOC] deception or stealth check for Vaken.

A'ro nodded as the woman spoke "You're right, we shouldn't waste our time then. Last question before we head out then - do you have anything that could help us fight the venom of these creatures or prevent it from hurting us and help increase our odds in retrieving this book for you."

'The chuckling woodswoman turns back to A'ro, as one hand reaches out almost absent-mindedly to trace several of the obscure objects on the shelf next to her,'
"I have given you knowledge, A'ro, which is valuable indeed, and half my trade. As for the other half..."
'Naskeen's delicate white hand clasps a small rusted tin, a faded flower motif of yellow and pink roses upon its dented lid. Taking the tin from the shelf to place it upon the small table before your group, the scarred apothecary flicks back the lid with one long black-nailed finger, revealing a collection of five tiny corked glass vials within, each containing a light blue liquid. Leaving the tin on the table enticingly before you, Naskeen continues,'
"I have many things that might aid you, wind-born, though there is no reliable antivenom or antidote to the fey venom that I or my forebears have yet managed to concoct. Only ones natural resiliance or the passing of time will aid you should that vile stuff mix with your blood. However, it is within my skill to create potion of healing as I have done for many years in these parts. Potions such as these...

Gents? We've more'n this task t'ccomplish ere long."
'She offers her hand to Naskeen to seal the accord.'

"This all sounds good, Ms. Naskeen, but who is this old friend of yours that will guide us? "
'As he is talking, Kestrell reaches out to touch the tiny cage with the translucent butterfly.'

'Kestrell jumps and his eyes grow wide as the Raven lands on his shoulder. But then he relaxes a bit when the smell of Summer winds and long wet grass it him. He looks as far as he can to the right without moving his head, eyes straining to meet the yellew-eyed stare of the Raven.'
"Hello there, Worms. I'm Kestrell, and I like my ears, hair and eyes just the way they are. Do keep that in mind!"
'Kestrell moves his eyes back to Naskeen, still not moving his head.'
"And how is this friendly fellow going to help us?'
'Kestrell still doesn't move as Naskeen replaces the butterfly cage with the tin of healing potions, then he slowly raises his other hand up to Worms as if to let the jet-black bird sniff the back of his hand like a dog and murmors:'
"Easy now, Worms. These are my fingers. I have five on this hand and five on the other. Let's keep it that way, shall we?"
[OOC]: Animal handling check if needed: 15
'The startling volume of the belligerant raven's *CAWWW* directly into his face almost sends Kestrell reeling, as Worms lifts off with a *whoosh* of its black wings, swooping the room to exit in a flurry of feathers. The yellow-eyed creature alights upon Vaken's broad shoulder as the goliath stands upon the cottage's wind-swept porch at the top of its few stairs. Naskeen shakes her head at something only she apparently sees or hears, but says to you all as she gestures towards the door,'
"Worms knows the Wispwood better than I and will lead you to the cave I spoke of. It would not do to have you get lost in this place. You seem a formidable group, but there are worse things than thorn vines and deathkiss flowers within this wood. Much worse... But it appears that your guide is in a hurry to get on with things, so I will bid you farewell for now and good fortune."
[OOC] Kestrell is holding a decorative though dented tin containing x5 common potion of healing.
