"Aye, ye've the right of it there, goodman Kestrell. Though I can't speak to Vergil's whisky, or anything else that grimmy little shoreboil might try to flog. Nor am I overly interested in songs or flattery, though I'm sure that works a treat with young lasses all over.
But yes, ye would indeed most likely find the pirate scum limping into that very den of thieves. And I've had dealings with the Brandy and her good Captain Remeshar. What was her navigator's name again? I'd guess that it's been at least six months since I last saw them in port..."
[OOC] Kestrell make a insight check. If you get a score of 22 or more you may read the spoiler
'At the mention of Captain Remeshar, a sadness comes over Kestrell's face.'
"Oh, you haven't heard then? I reckon it's been longer than that. Charles was my boss's, the Navigators, name."
'Kestrell pauses, and then continues, speaking swiftly as if he doesn't want to dwell on the details':
"It's a sad tale, that one is. It's been about a year and a half I suppose. The good ship was taken over by pirates it was Captain Brand of the Crimsonchain...I think they killed most of the crew including Captain Remeshar and Charles. Twas a sad, dark, day, that."
'E'strue nods along sombrely as Kestrell provides the requested information and corrects the First Mate as to the timeline of the Brandy's demise,'
"Aye, I had heard and that was indeed a dark day, though no darker than the last fer many in these brigand cursed waters! Ye have me condolences, young Kestrell - Charles and Captain Remeshar were good men both, and the Brandy's crew were known to be a cut above board fer a merchant vessel's lot.
And as fer the dogs who murdered 'em - who's to say? Mightn't be that we run across that flesh-peddlin' scum Brand one day and take fer ourselves the title of Master Slayers! It'd be the only solace we can give them lost souls now and more bloody justice than any who calls 'emslf a Captain of the Accord deserves.
And my apologies fer the test and fer drudgin' up memories from the depths, but i'twas necessary to make sure that ye are what ye say ye are. While the Captain wisely chose meself and the Bosun here as his seniors, there's no crewman aboard ship more important than the navigator, as ye yerself must know. It's a prestige, to be sure, but one that comes with a weight that can't be foisted to another. We'll be sailin' into danger and rough seas often, have ye no doubts on that, and we'll need a level head and sharp mind to make sure we'll be returnin'... well, maybe not make sure so much as increase the chances... Ha!
Regardless, at the Captains pleasure, I'd like to welcome you aboard the Shore Shark... Navigator Kestrell."
'The First Mate looks to Captain Aundrey who is standing alongside the Bosun speaking to a tall disheveled woman who reeks of ale and rum. Catching his eye, E'strue gives her superior a firm nod to which the Captain smiles and nods in return. E'stru pushes the charter towards the bard, handing him the quil with which to sign.'

"I was indeed the that killed the man with my hands, Maybe i could show one of you how to do such things, you know incase you are ever caught without a weapon. as for being a sailor, I hope that i will prove my worth to you and i am not afraid of heights i enjoy then as much as i do the sea. As for the drinking, tonight is a special occasion and I rarely partake in over drinking, but i understand that actions are far more prevalent than words. now if we have both agreed with each other, I must find somewhere to vomit, a lady must at least act polite in public."She smiles and waits for anything else to be said before she stumbles about to find somewhere appropriate to vomit
'The Captain merely nods uncertainly at the dangerous woman's words, but the Bosun pipes in enthusiastically as he nabs another mug of rum from the passing Beril,'
'Oh, I've hit a few folk with these fists in me day, girl, never ye doubt. But since ye look agile enough and ain't 'fraid o'no heights, and say ye can keep sober, we'll post ye up top to see how good yer eyes are. If'n ye do that job well enough, we'll see about maybe trying ye out with the B'n'R crew. Must admit, it'd be worth the watchin' to see that one-handed Northman try and lay ye out. Bwahaha!
Just make sure that yer out front of the Pirate or out front of the town gates at dawn fer crossbow practice. 'Board ship, ye'll 'ave a good spot from on high to skewer pirates with, so best we make sure ye can hit the broadside of a galleon. Bwahaha!"
'Drannick quaffs his rum in one hit, apparently having caught his second wind after his brief nap earlier, and he waits for the First Mate and the handsome man with the viol to finish with the charter, before he slides it in front of Unawalyn,'
"That'a girl, Una. And as fer ye spewin' - so long as it aint in me mug, face or on me boots, heave to, lass, heave to! Bwahahaha!"

'You notice that the Bosun, as he has done all night when taking another mug or tankard, pours the contents into his own silver mug before drinking. The mug itself is an odd looking thing, broad rimmed and half-spherical, rather than typically cylindrical or rectangular, though the attached handle looks regular and sturdy enough.'

A’ro looked at the man and nodded as food and drink were brought “Thank ya Beril, it’s much appreciated.” He smiled and lifted his mug to Eamon “An’ thank ya sir for your kindness and generosity. May fortune favor you – for the rest o' your days.” He just lifted the mug to his lips and enjoyed the rum that flowed.
He leaned into the table chuckling a little at what the man said “I guess it’s good some wisdom finally has seeped into me, used to be a dense young boy.” He took a sip from his cup and thought more about what the man had said in relation to wisdom“I would say the truly wise man cares about both wisdom and experience. He knows how to look at his experiences and extract the wisdom from them. He definitely takes into account the material and immediate needs, but lines them up for his long term needs and benefits. The way I see it - only focusing on material and immediate needs is like sailing without a final destination in mind, it may be fun for a while, but eventually you'll find yourself lost."
When the man switched conversation to where he was from A'ro took a quick bite of food. It was curious the line of questioning from this man but so far he didn't sense to much harm “I’m from Kinsale – it’s a small town roughly one day from here. Though I’ve lived and worked in Rumbottom since I was 8 in various positions on different ships of various types.”
'Eamon Sharthorpe looks at A'ro in surprise at the genasi's both intelligent and wise words, clearly not expecting such from the casually charming man. Seeing Vaken approaching from the bar, he raise an eyebrow, calls for more wine and rum, and turns back to the genasi,'
"Hmm, indeed, Master of Sail A'ro. What you say is true, perhaps moreso than you realise. I meant only to say that any life's voyage can be interesting and eventful, but that I'd rather enjoy one that was also comfortable and rewarding than one which was not.
And aren't you a font of surprises! However, one need not fear getting lost so much if one has the right pilot or navigator helping to steer the ship. This is as true in life as it is upon the seas. Perhaps I might be someone who could offer advice at the wheel or assist in righting a wayward course should you find yourselves in need of a little help. It is always good to have friends in the know - especially when those friends have resources...
Kinsale? I believe that I've heard of it, though not much of note, I must admit. And you've been in these parts for so long? And yet I've not made your personal acquaintance... though now that you mention it I may have seen you on my previous travels to and from the town, though only from afar. Alas, much of my work has me on the road, travelling to and from my native Fireshear. But here we are now, firm acquaintances, if not yet old friends."
'Kay looks A'ro and Sharthorpe over as they continue their conversation, and she carefully sits so as not to cause any kind of noise that might interrupt, smoothing her cloak underneath her as she sits so that it doesn't bunch up under her rear. Her cheeks redden as Sharthorpe tells her she needn't apologize, more so when he tells her that she was right to kill Gaut, and her whole face turn bright red (her bright orange eyes starting down at a knot in the wood of the table) as he compliments her looks.'
'She takes a breath to answer Sharthorpe's question when the food arrives and she gets uncomfortable again. While Kay is in much need of hot food and a drink, it's the young barmaid, Lorana, that her eyes linger on for just a bit too long. She thanks the young woman and nearly drops her wine as their fingers brush when Lorana hands the glass to her. It's Beril's words that bring her out of her reverie, staring at Lorana's rear as she walks away from the table.'
'She clears her throat' "Ahem... Y... Yes ma'am. Thank you ma'am. I'm certain I will enjoy the food, it looks and smells delicious..." 'She clumsily grasps for a fork and takes a bit too large of a bite, but chokes it down.'
"Mmmm!"'She exaggerates, giving a thumbs up, and hoping no one noticed her lingering gaze. She takes a sip of her wine and exhales, relieved that she didn't choke to death on the delicious food so soon after her life was spared by Rumbottom's wardens.'
'When Sharthorpe inquires again where they are from, she gives him a look of suspicion. She's takes another breath to answer, when A'ro speaks. She's thankful to him for the time to think about what she wants to say. She doesn't see any harm in telling Sharthorpe, and worried that a man of means such as he would have more knowledge than she of the ten-towns, or other places she might be able to lie about being from, she comes to the decision to tell him the truth, at least in part.'
'I was born and raised in Fireshear, scraped by there m'whole life. Honest, I think I'll be making more of myself on the Shore Shark, half-wages an all!'
[ooc: A'ro and Vaken > DC24 to read the spoiler]
'She takes a daintier bite of her food and picks up a chunk of meat and bread between her finger and thumb and opens a large, hefty looking belt pouch, tucking the morsels of food inside.'
'She whispers,'There y'go Rudd, y'old miserly bastard. Didn't think I would forget about you did'ya?'
'She smiles gently down at the huge elderly rat.'
'She wipes her hands on a napkin and puts the napkin on her lap, then resumes taking dainty bites of her meal and sips of wine.'
'Mr Sharthorpe smiles as he turns towards Kay, seeming to find her words, movements and... gazes, amusing. Seeing the young woman start to choke, Eamon reaches across with a ring-bedecked hand and pats her back, saying,'
"Now, now, lovely Kay, it wouldn't do for you to choke to death on some shepherds pie after so narrowly escaping the noose now, would it? Our poor cook, or should I say former cook, at least according to Beril, would be mortified, I'm sure.
'Kay is mindful that despite her having recovered from her second near-death experience tonight, Mr Sharthorpe's hand has remained upon her back. The man moves to the empty chair directly beside the embarrased woman, pouring her another glass of the undeniably rich and fruity wine, saying,'
"And you're a Fireshear girl, a local of the City of Sparks? Fantastic! I knew there was something about you that spoke of some culture, or at least a familiarity with it. Now that we're acquained, I'm sure that we would have so much to talk about... but alas, of course, you must soon depart with the Shark, never to return. All on account of that lummox Golm and his pretentious sense of 'legality'. A shame, a wretched shame it is...
But at least we have this night to speak, one Sheran to another. So do tell me, dearest Kay, where were you born? Who are your parents? Forced to scrape by you say, so I'm now assuming that you're not of noble or upper-class stock, though by your poise and grace, you might well have been."
Vaken finishes cleaning up the common room and as he's walking back through he tries to make eye contact and nod a 'hi' to all his new crew-mates. He then walks up to the table where A’ro and Kay are sitting with Mr Sharthorpe. Vaken gently lays one of his massive hands on A'ro's shoulder sending a 'chill' through him that was somehow warming at the same time, but makes eye contact with Mr. Sharthorpe. "Sorry for interrupting your conversations. Sir, I'm not sure if Vergil told you, but I've been accepted as crew on the Shore Shark so tonight will be my last night here. I just wanted to thank you for all that you've done for me."
After saying his piece, Vaken pats A'ro and Kay on the shoulders and says,"I look forward to working with you both."and then turns to head back into the kitchen.
[OOC] A'ro add 1d8+2 to your hp.
'As he awaits Kays response, Mr Sharthorpe smiles and nods at Vaken as the goliath approaches the table, perhaps assuming that the cook came to retrieve the dishes or enquire after customer satisfaction, but as the businessman's sharp gaze catches Vaken laying a hand on one of Eamon's table mates, he turns to listen to the larger man's words, before responding with what could be genuine dissapointment in his tone,'
"Worry not at the interruption, good... cook. Beril has already informed me, though I'm sure that Vergil would have tonight upon providing me with a tally of the day's business and such. Our loss is the the Shore Shark's gain, clearly. And I've done nothing more than provide a venue from which you might practice your undeniable talents.
Come to think of it, let me personally compensate you for your notable efforts in our kitchen and elsewhere in the establishment. Lorana, gossip that she is, is often remarking about how much of a help you are about the place. Here - for your troubles."
'With that, the tavern's manager reaches down and pulls out 10 gold pieces, which he places on the table in front of Vaken and in clear sight of Kay and A'ro.'
[OOC] A'ro, Kay and Vaken can make perception checks and read the below spoilers IF the meet the requisite score of each:
DC 10:
'Mr Sharthorpe clearly does not know the cook's name, but noting the goliath's comments to his soon-to-be shipmates, the man seems to be intrigued by some thought that he has... which seems to prompt him towards his subsequent act of generosity.'
DC 15:
'As Eamon Sharthorpe reaches down to his belt, you catch a glimpse of a button-up, hardened leather pouch at his waist, from which he draws the coins. As his hand reaches to place them on the table, you see that one ring he wears in particular, a silver or electrum band, set with a finely cut small emerald, glitters as it catches the nearby lantern light.'

'Kay, very clearly uncomfortable with the older man's hand on her back, but not wanting to cause further trouble, shrugs her shoulders slightly and tries to slide away ever so slightly toward A'ro. She hunches a little close and seems to be paying a lot more attention to her plate.'
"N... not of noble birth, to be sure. And it's news to me that I'm one t... t'have poise and grace. Fear and wracked nerves I call it."'Her voice steadies,'"As to where I was born, I can't rightly be sure, and I would apologize if there were any way for me to know, seeing as I was just coming from the womb at the time and have no recollection. I never met m'father as is true of many of the young ladies born from the women who work the Brazen Gentleman, probably some drunk sailor the likes o'that un," 'She gestures loosely with her fork toward Unawalyn' "and though m'own mother, Mirabelle Iceriver, were a courtesan plying that trade she threw me to the streets as near as I could walk. Sure we'd had exchanges o'er the years, but honest I had t'learn manners from that scoundrel and cheat Anglemuck down at the Bone Barrell. It's a wonder I've any manners at all."
"Y'said y'have the fortune to serve the Ducess of House Daska? Tell me more about that? I've had occasion to scamper by the Pick and Pony as a young rascal. Even had a run in or two with the dwarf woman what runs it er... Boil was the name was it?"
'Kay remembers very well the name Mindran Bole, who threw her and her mother to the streets those many years ago. She weaves together lies and the truth doing her best to obscure her identiy, thinking that if she can just make it through the night, to the Shore Shark she'll not have to deal with any consequences until if and when she decides it's time to return to Fireshear.'
'Her speech gets a bit faster and more assured as she goes, and she scoots herself just a little farther away trying to escape Sharthorpe's grasp without causing a scene.'
Vaken is shocked at the Mr. Sharthorpe's gesture. I carefully sweeps the pile of coins from the table into his hand where they quickly disappear into a pouch."Thank you for that opportunity sir."Vaken bows to Mr. Sharthorpe and then turns to head back to the kitchen.
'Mr Sharthorpe nods his head enthusiastically, as though enraptured by the younger woman's words, while leaning further and further forward. However, adroitly using words and activity from her other tablemates and the room in general to mask the deliberacy of her movements, Kay actually manages to rise and shift to a chair on the other side of A'ro, whilst distracting the Prancing Pirate's manager with her responses. Eamon seems not to notice, busy as he is deciphering and responding to Kay's remarks,'
"Ahh, your mother was a Brazen Women - I see... though, ahem, I'm not one to frequent such places, of course.
And yours is a sad tale and hard life indeed, if you had to learn anything from the disgusting creature, Anglemuck. Worse than Vergil... and that is a feat so mindboggling that it's almost admirable!
Mindran Bole though, now there's a dwarf that I can respect. All business is Mindran, no trim, no fat. An able Innkeep of the Pick and Pony - which, just like this dump, is one of those establishments that I manage on behalf of the Ducess, though the Pony has only recently fallen within my purview.
Ducess Zalaron Daska? Well, she's one of the five premier nobles of the city and the head of House Daska, the second longest established noble family in Fireshear. But everyone knows these things. I'm really not sure what more you want me to say. House Daska traces its origins back to Waterdeep and, indeed, still has substantial holdings and interests in the City of Splendours, as well as all along the Sword Coast North and the Bitter Shore itself. Again, this is fairly common knowledge. It would, of course, be improper of me to discuss detailed business matters or anything personally relating to the Ducess herself."

'Kay waves her fork apologetically' "Oh no... not at all, I didn't mean to inquire so much toward the affairs of the Ducess herself, it was more about you yourself Mr Sharthorpe. Specifically wondering as to how one might obtain such status with the Ducess as to be employed to run such fine establishments as the Pick and Pony, and perhaps. Not that I'm after your job mind you, seabound as I am."
'Kay sloshes the wine in her glass gently, then takes another sip.'
[OOC] Woot! Vaken is finally able to notice things again!!! lol
'As Vaken walks around the bar towards the kitchen, he notices that Vergil himself is serving drinks at the bar, with no sign in the common room of either Beril or Lorana. As Vaken passes the nuggety barkeep, the dwarf just spits on the ground nearby and mutters in whatever broken hybrid language it is that the horrid little man 'communicates' with,'
'The tempo of the drinking, laughing and shouting within the room seems to be slowing somewhat, which in the observant tavern cook's experience, it usually tends to do around this time, as the hour between the night that was and the day to come blurs. Sometimes the Pirate's generally rowdy atmosphere might be reignited by something at this late hour, which would then see the revelry last into the wee hours of the morning, but more often than not, the usual die hards would continue to hug the bar, while the rest would drift off to their homes, berths or where ever else they planned to rest their heads.
Entering the Pirate's rather spacious kitchen (one of the few things that the goliath liked about the building), Vaken hears a somewhat muffled *sob* and what sounds like someone whispering. The sounds appear to be coming from the rear box'n'barrel room.'

"My dear, you have no idea at just how magnificent the City of Splendours really is. I myself am a proud and loyal son of Fireshear, the greatest city of the Shore, better than that rat warren Luskan and the rival of fair Neverwinter itself... but Waterdeep!"
'The older man, twinkling eyes watching Kay's every excited response to his description, continues,'
"Of course, I have been there more than once, to see to personal matters and also as an emissary of the Ducess herself. "Ah, I see. Thank you E'strue, that does sound like a fine title. One day I hope we get the chance to deliver justice for the officers and crew of the Brandy. I accept your apologies, I understand."

A’ro nodded as the man spoke, enjoying the title “Well if you’re being literal – I think the Navigator position is still open. If that’s just a metaphor though you may indeed be a very good man to know - unfortunately I don’t see how I could help ya out sir. I’m a pretty simple man in life with not much want.” A smirk came across his face as he lifted the mug to his face drinking a little “Really only two things on the seas that I’ve been interested in. One can’t be given by man and the other is just a legend of the sea.”
As the man described Kinsale he couldn’t help but shrug at the man’s description, it was pretty accurate “Yeah Kinsale might not look like much on the outside, but she’s a town with good people who will take care of ya. As for not seeing me here – I went hard at work as a young man learning everything I could about the boats and seas. I spent more time out there then here so I wouldn’t be surprised if we never ran into each other.” He just chuckled as the man mentioned them being old friends “Ain’t nothing old about us friend – but new things are the spice of life aren’t they.”
A’ro just chuckled as Kay ate – she held a familiar air about here. One that matched him when he first started working in some ways. When the man puts his hand on his back he just gave a careful glance as the coin hit the table.
A’ro began to inspect his wounds again after the chill– not realizing how well the man actually healed him. ‘Well shit where did that man go – man made me brand new’ He took a quick look around and began to notice the Bosun and his unique ritual that he was doing ‘Well that certainly is an interesting ritual there’
It was now that he noticed that Kay seemed a little closer than before and the signs her body gave of being uncomfortable, the conversation had faded into the background as the Bosun’s ritual caught his attention. 'Well doesn't take a wizard to know she's uncomfortable - here goes nothing' He just stood up and his hands came down on the table with a large “WELL SHIT! WOULD YA LOOK AT THAT THERE! LOOKS LIKE WE NOT ONLY GOT A PHENOMENAL COOK MATES, BUT A PHENOMENAL HEALER AS WELL NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A ****IN’ DEAL!!!!”
He slides back into his seat as his smile seemed to be a little bigger, whether from the mischief or just the enjoyment of the night would be hard to tell “Sorry, the excitement got the best of me. I owed some dances tonight and now, thanks to that fine bloak I’ll be able to keep good on m’ promises.”

'Not getting the answers she seeks, and needing a bath and rest besides, Kay pushes out her seat and stands to stretch and yawn, her cloak opening up to reveal her too large clothes and tight belt, hefty pouch, daggers, short blades and all. Finishing her stretch, she quickly closes and cinches her cloak, then tucks a stray hair behind her ear looking around.'
"Master Sharthorpe,"'She extends a hand by way of parting'"m'sincere gratitude for the meal, wine, bath and room. I hate to end our conversation, but it is getting a bit er... early I s'pose, and m'feelin' awful knackered. Might uh... might y'know where the barmaids ran off to? I wonder if they might show me to my quarters for the evening. M'happy to help with drawing a bath and the like, if only someone might show me where."
'Kay gives A'ro look as though she thinks he may have gone soft in the head, but shrugs and goes back to looking for the missing barmaids.'

'While anyone entering the kitchen might have thought the sight of the large cook pretending to sweep while trying to walk on tip toes comical, Vaken manages to get get very close to the slightly ajar door that leads into the backroom without making a sound. Cocking his large bald head to one side, the curious goliath hears Beril and Lorana in the backroom, with the former apparently trying to console the latter, who it seems is near inconsolable,'
"But don't you get how terrible it will be around here without Vaken, Berrie? Not only will we have to do all the extra tavern work, like we used to before the lovely big loaf came. And Vergil will be even fouler to us on account of the lazy dwarf having to do all the cooking, 'lest till he finds someone else he can con into putting up with him. And... and then theres... him!"
*a momentary pause*
"Oh come on, girl. Get yourself together! You don't know it'll be worse, Laurie. We can't know that, though it's surely to be no better, I'll concede that much. I'll miss the great lump just as much as you will, but we've had'em come and go before, and we've managed, just like we will this time as well."
*another longer pause*
"And if that one comes to your room uninvited again... actually, no, scratch that. There ain't much room, granted, but I'll tell you what - get yer stuff after we close up and bring it into my room. We'll share, eh? It'll be just like when we was young girls, sharing rooms with our siblings. That will fix'im, I reckon! And save you a few coins as well, heh?"

Ecstatic to hear that she will be aboard a vessel to sail the seas and no less with her new friend that she made before killing a man "This Isn't such a bad day after all"Una walks as well as she can to the table that A'ro is situated tat, she notices the girl on the cloak stand up to leave the table, Una's pace quickens from a walk to a mixture of a stumble and a saunter."Hi. sorry i noticed you were about to leave." Una stops for a moment, trying to construct her words"The table you were about to leave the table. Shit i'm sorry i'm usually better at this. I'm una." una extends her hand towards kay then remembers why she came to the table and pulls her hand back, spins to look at A'ro with a smile that looks like it almost hurts "HEY SAIL MASTER I GOT A JOB!!" she bounces about like a feverish child that has received a new toy, completely disregarding Sharthorpe and kay now. She stops as quickly as she started, spins around and vomits on the floor. "well shit" she drops to a squat and continues to barf
'Kestrell thinks to himself: Here it is, Navigator! My first official Navigator position, no longer Assistant Navigator! I can do this! The Shark will be a welcome change from merchant vessels as well.'
'He takes the quil and picks up the charter.'
"Ah, I see. Thank you E'strue, that does sound like a fine title. One day I hope we get the chance to deliver justice for the officers and crew of the Brandy. I accept your apologies, I understand."
"May I ask what the pay is for the position of Navigator on the Shore Shark? Do you already have a Navigator's Assistant, or will I be able to select my own Assistant?"
"I share that hope, Mr Navigator, I honestly do, though we could both rue the day we made such a wish. Slaver scum, Brand may be, but he ain't lasted this long on luck alone... Still, we'll do what we're set to do, and leave the rest up to Umberlee and Kelemvor to decide, eh?
Dang, I knew I should of had the Captain proclaim this at the outset! Officer pay's four gold a day, that's one-hundred and twenty a month for those who struggle doin' the sums... which seein' as yer going going to be readin' our maps and charts, I honestly hope doesn't inclue you, Kestrell."

"No, Mam, I can do quite a bit of math. But, as you yourself mentioned, there is no crewman aboard ship more important than the navigator, and it does come with a great deal of responsibility. Not only that, but I do have some other skills that can come in handy when we've been at sea for many a week, the crew is rowdy, and god-forbid, we are out of rum rations. Knowing all that, I think five gold per day is a reasonable fee for my talents."
'Eamon nods in the direction of the Captain's table where the tall handsome viol player has just finished signing the charter and is now engaged in conversation with the First Mate. He also smiles at your comment about being a simple man and the things that may be beyond his ability to give you,'
"As to your position, I thought that I heard you welcomed as the Shore Shark's new Master of Sails, which if I was paying attention, and I assure you that I always am, is what eventually led to that scuffle with that lout Gaut and his friends. If you'd wanted another position to begin with, mayhap the big dullard and his friend hand't needed to die afterall. Regardless, from what the First Mate announced earlier, it sounded like there were few officer positions left... and that impressive man there doesn't strike me as a surgeon or a carpenter, nor a common sailor either.
Regarding what can and can't be had if one has the correct sorts of friends, I don't dabble in legends myself, though I've heard of plenty who do, sailors typically being superstitious folk and all, but I am intrigued by this other thing you ever-so-vaguely refer to, something that 'can't be given by man'? The mere elaboration on something so mysterious must surely be worth, should we say, a nice meal, a warm bed and a couple of glasses of very nice wine... hmm?"
'Waiting patiently for the blue genasi's response, Eamon is somewhat startled when A'ro leaps to his feat, slams his hand on the table and begins shouting about his miraculous healing, though the tavern's manager does raise both eyebrows in surprpise when you imply that the goliath cook is the source of that healing.'
[OOC] Eamon seems either oblivious or indifferent to A'ro's actions to distract him from his earlier fixation on Kay.

Ha!

But since ye look agile enough and ain't 'fraid o'no heights, and say ye can keep sober, we'll post ye up top to see how good yer eyes are.

Fear and wracked nerves I call it." 'Her voice steadies,' "As to where I was born, I can't rightly be sure, and I would apologize if there were any way for me to know, seeing as I was just coming from the womb at the time and have no recollection.

'The sounds of the older woman embracing and patting the back of the younger woman reach Vaken's ears, likely indicating that the two women are soon about to leave the storeroom.'

Ecstatic to hear that she will be aboard a vessel to sail the seas and no less with her new friend that she made before killing a man "This Isn't such a bad day after all" Una walks as well as she can to the table that A'ro is situated tat, she notices the girl on the cloak stand up to leave the table, Una's pace quickens from a walk to a mixture of a stumble and a saunter. "Hi. sorry i noticed you were about to leave."
Una stops for a moment, trying to construct her words "The table you were about to leave the table. Shit i'm sorry i'm usually better at this. I'm una."
una extends her hand towards kay then remembers why she came to the table and pulls her hand back, spins to look at A'ro with a smile that looks like it almost hurts
"HEY SAIL MASTER I GOT A JOB!!"
she bounces about like a feverish child that has received a new toy, completely disregarding Sharthorpe and kay now. She stops as quickly as she started, spins around and vomits on the floor.
"well shit"
she drops to a squat and continues to barf

Hearing that their conversation is ending, Vaken starts to actually sweep the floor and prepares to act surprised when they exit the storeroom.
