OOC: I think our only other option is back up into the stream cave. We were talking about roping ourselves off to try and get to that staircase to the east.
"If you think so, Slate," Iroona says, though Slate didn't actually say anything, so she's basically just reading the large woman's mind, which is a good sign for their relationship. "I'm nervous about sliding down that waterfall though."

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. Here's my D&D stuff. I love it so.
So you all trek back through the tunnels and the fungal forest and back to the room with the slippery floor and the stream flowing through it.
You notice this time however if you hug the wall it appears to be not slippery like the rest of the floor - still ever cautious still you link each other together with rope and traverse along the northern wall towards the east, following the river. As you get farther from the tunnel you entered the sound of rushing water gets louder and louder almost to thunderous proportions. Then you notice the river disappear in to a large hole in the floor creating a large waterfall.
Just to the left of this massive sinkhole you notice a staircase carved in to the rock and you begin to descend the stairs, which start to spiral downwards. When you reach the base of the stairs you notice a loud waterfall spills down the northwest wall of this cavern into a deep pool. The rocky walls glisten with spray, and a weird array of colorful minerals and strange lichens lend an unearthly beauty to this spot. A fast-moving stream runs south from the pool at the base of the falls, and a nearby natural passage heads in the same direction. A set of narrow stairs cut into the rock wind up to the north, and two old wooden doors stand in a wall of dressed stone to the east.
Slate was amused that Iroona had guessed her intent, but now as they stood in this room that amusement was overtaken by the beauty of the rock formation. She strode over to where the waterfall splashed and tested the water temperature, take a large cup with her hand and drinking deep if it was cool. "Looks like we have some more doors here" she then took her wineskin from her pack and filled it with the water, if it tasted good.
Iroona will follow Slate's lead and take a brief respite to refresh herself, wrapping her hair back so it does not get wet as she leans down. Then, she sits and turns her back on the pool, taking in the beautiful room, sparkling in Vonman's torchlight and Slate's shield.
"So pretty." she says.
"Shall we bash those doors in?"

"Every time you open your mouth I like you a little bit more" Slate said, finishing what she was doing with a big smile. She finished with her wineskin and then walked over to the doors, looking them over for any obvious traps, locks, etc.
"Maybe instead of lighting the door on fire, we light a torch and use it to dry out the door" she puts a hand on the door and attempts to push, judging the swelling and how stuck it might be.

OOC > Nothing in that back area of 22? And should I just play dumb about knowing there's a 15a on the map?

Slate spots some blind cave fish darting about the pool as well as some white crustaceans, but otherwise the pool is cold, crisp and refreshing.

Both doors (north and south) are swollen shut with dampness but otherwise look normal.

Slate
Looking back over her shoulder Slate called to Vonman, "These doors are damp, maybe a bit of heat would dry them out?"
Iroona will stand to the side, so the cartoon jet of water that is surely going to stream out of the doors won't hit her.

I don't need an excuse to burn something. Vonman happily walks to the door and tries to light it with his Tinderbox.
(Welp, finally letting Von serve his purpose.)

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
Sadly the wood is too damp to burn

Slate pulls on the door and you think it might give way but it remains firmly stuck.

Slate, pulling on the door, scrunches up her face, "Hey, someone give me a hand with this, it might open without drying it out"
If someone else wants to give me a Strength check - I'll let you roll with advantage because of Slate's assistance
