As you start to head out, he catches Harpy's eye "Oh, did you manage to find any sweetmeats in the end?"
Harpy gives Pike a sad look, "yes, but got injured in the sewer so I don't think what was left for you is eatable after being exposed to sewer sludge and what not, so I threw them out. But I promise that after I take a short rest to get over the effects of the poison I will go out and buy a replacement bag for you. I am sorry." :(
Later after a nice bath and a change of clothes, Harpy will take a short rest to get over the effects of the poisoning then go back out to pick up the following items.
Items Purchased: Bag of a Dozen Sweetmeats (-1GP), Amulet of Boccob Holy Symbol (-5 GP), Healing Potion (-50 GP). With 155 GP in her purse that leaves her with an ending balance of99 GP.
Note that Harpy will forgo the 5d10 gold as she busy studying to have time for criminal activity, etc. to have been able to earn any additional coin.
@Rothnar
Upon Harpy's return, she will seek to locate Rothnar and give him the Potion of Healing she just purchased along with a heartfelt thank you.
"Thank you Rothnar for helping me, I owe you so please accept this to replace what you used on me!"
Later in evening Harpy will see that Pike gets his replacement bag of sweetmeats as promised.
Rothnar please be sure to add the Potion of Healing to your character sheet as it will be lost otherwise as it won't be listed on Harpy's sheet. Thanks! :)
When you tell him you weren't able to get him the sweetmeats, Pike looks a little disappointed. "No matter, I know you were busy."
When you return later with the new bag he takes them. "Thank you, I appreciate it." He pops one in his mouth and puts the rest in his desk for later.
He'll also spend a bit of time in the local pub, keeping mostly to himself, but generally just people watching. - 15 silver buying drinks. (edit...that's not a lot for drinks. he also has more gold than he's had before... so i'll double that number.)
Laza has a good time in the local tavern - a rowdy joint named the Dust Glow Inn. A few people there warm to him a little when he buys them a drink.
He drops the halfling's potions on the desk. "Should anyone else like to make use of these." He gives a tip of his new cap to Pike. "There are some things I would like to attend to as well. I believe some of these specimens are just about...ripe." He pokes and prods a couple of the green and yellow spongy knots on his staff.
Pike smiles. "Crafty. I think I'm going to like these guys. You can keep the potions. Who knows, they might prove useful?"
Over the next few weeks Ruhvon and Brayton spend time helping the Crimson Rebels get acquainted with their new life. After how you met, they're quite intimidated by you, but they warm a little over time. In your sparring sessions, it turns out that they're pretty bad at fighting. However, they are excellent at sneaking around and even managed to get the jump on you in a few exercises.
Ruhvon and Brayton also travel the shops of Dogtown and some of the lower-end shops in the Mage's Quarter. A lot of magical items are well out of your current price range, but you find a few items which might be of interest.
You also tell your teammates about what you've found so any of you can buy from this list, with Ruhvon and Brayton having first dibs. Given your knowledge of the economy of the town, you know that shops often rotate stock and you can't guarantee you'll find the same things again in the future...

Katar smiles. "I can keep it for a month for you, but I'll need a deposit of 20 gold. Non-refundable of course. Years ago I kept an enchanted dagger for a gnome once. Of course, it looked like more of a sword on them. But, anyway, they never came back! Turned down other buyers for it and all. So I hope you'll understand if I need a little deposit! Don't want that happening again!"
You'll need to acquire some ingredients (some may be bought and some you might have to forage for) and then roll a crafting check to produce some poison. You can using your poisoner's kit to help you do this. If you let me know which poison you want to concoct in the downtime between missions, we can quickly RP the actions you take to produce it (with a couple of rolls thrown in). Best places to look for poisons are PHB 153 and DMG 257-258. Bear in mind that, the more potent poisons will be more difficult to craft and you'll be less likely to succeed. Also, the more time you put into this, the more the 5d10 gold you receive will be reduced as you're spending time making poison instead of stealing from and robbing the folks of Dunn Farum.
Just maybe some simple Poison, Basic (vial) to begin with. Hoping I can make it cheaper than it can be bought.
OK, no problem. For this you require two ingredients. One is nightshade and one is viper venom. You can buy enough nightshade to make one portion for 20gp. The viper venom is a little more expensive - 50gp per portion. You find enough in the shops to make five full portions if you bought the ingredients. The poison is also on sale for 100gp per portion.
However, you can choose to go and forage for either of these instead if you wish. Vipers are known to live in the Great Plains and there's lots of nightshade in Brackwood forest. If you would like to go foraging for either/both of these, you can go a number of expeditions, rolling a nature check for each. Each expedition will cost you 1d10 gold in lost income from committing crime in Dun Farum and you can go on up to five expeditions. Each expedition will get you 0, 1 or 2 of the item you're looking for, depending on the nature roll you make. In addition, you'll need to make an intelligence check (+ your proficiency bonus due to your poisoner's kit) to see if the brewing process goes to plan. You can decide to visit the shops after you roll for the foraging if you like.

Okay, you find enough venom and nightshade for one servings of poison. You spend some time setting up the the poison brewing in your hiding place. It's difficult and dangerous but you have the right kit and have done it before. The smell is pretty bad, but it doesn't bother you too much. After a week of simmering you extract the mixture and test it for purity.
Intelligence + proficiency: 16
The brewing process goes without a hitch and you acquire one fine sample of Poison, Basic (vial).
It's been a restful few weeks. Then, you get a message to come and meet Pike in his office one morning. You arrive and are ushered upstairs by the guards. When you enter the room you see Pike stood at his desk and an awkward-looking half-elf male stood next to him. The half-elf is dressed in deep blue gowns that appear to shimmer and move in the light. They have blond hair and sharp features. When you're all in the room Pike begins to speak.
"Welcome! Welcome! I'm so glad you could all make it! I have a job for you. This, my dear friends, is Eirril Frilstaer." The half-elf gives an awkward bow. "I think it's best if he explains what he wants you to do."
"Um, yes, ah - hello. My name is Eirril Frilstaer, master enchanter and researcher at the Dun Farum Arcaneum." You've all heard of the Arcaneum - it's the largest and most prestigious academic institution for the study of magic in Dun Farum and, by extension, one of the best in the Empire. "And I have a problem I hope you can help me solve. My - ah - colleague has just been promoted to Professor of Enchantment at the Arcanuem. A most unworthy woman named Tolith Crana. We have a long rivalry - she has stolen my research repeatedly and claimed it as her own. And now she hold the Professorial seat I rightfully deserve, I fear I may never get the recognition I deserve." He swings his head back arrogantly. "For, you see, Tolith is an elf and I am likely to be dead before she reaches middle age. To this end, I would like her to be - ahem - taken out of the picture."
Eirril sees the expressions spreading across your faces and quickly holds his hands out "No, no, no! Not killed! I just want her to be run out of the university. And I'll tell you how I want you to do it! There is a book in the Controlled Section of the Arcaneum library named The Well of Souls. It's a powerful tome that would very much help with my research, but the idiots in the Council have deemed it 'dangerous'", he uses air quotes whilst rolling his eyes "and won't release it. What I would like you to do is to steal it and deliver it to me and frame Tolith for the crime. That should get Tolith kicked out and hand me the seat that rightfully belongs to me!" his chest puffs out with pride.
Pike has been watching the speech with a smile on his face. "So, a tricky challenge for you. The Controlled Section is heavily guarded with traps and guards and things I don't want to think about. You'll need to do reconnaissance and come up with a plan on how to enter and get out alive." He turns to Eirril, "But these are some of my best men. If anyone can do it, they can." He turns back to you. "As payment, Eirril has offered the Blades a considerable sum, and your cut will be 200gp each or, if you prefer, Eirril will enchant one item of your choice with a modest enchantment. In addition, if your reconnaissance leads you into Tolith's house and you need to disguise your break-in as a robbery, you're welcome to anything you can carry out of there."
Eirril jumps in at this point. "However, while you're on this job, you are not to approach me. I must be free from any suspicion in this matter and anyone seeing me talking to a bunch of criminals would point fingers at me! Your discretion is very much valued. That's why I came to the Blades - you're the best at -ahem- this kind of thing."
Pike smiles at this and begins talking again "You have a long time to complete this project - one month. So take your time. Learn the area, learn your mark. Come up with a plan. Precision and secrecy matter much more than speed here." He leans back in his chair. "Any questions?"
Harpy sits back away from the others and listens as Eirril Frilstaer lays out the hows and whys of what he needs to be done. For her part, Harpy finds the mage a bit skeevy, not trusting him as far as she could throw him but a job is a job, is a job. She looks at the others silently waiting, figuring it best to keep her mouth shut and her questions to herself unobtrusively staying in the background.
"I think this will be great!" Erik can't help but be excited "I've just learned some transmutation magic Perhaps I can pose as a student. Can you tell me more about her personality? Her likes her dislikes? Does she stay within the university or her own private residence?"
