Laza listens close and nods at all this information. He then heads out with Rothnar saying "Let's check The Pantry first. Then we can head to their base if we have more information. Anyone else?"
"We will look for your lost locket "replies Rothnar he doesn't adds anything more, wich makes an akward silence after the sea of words of the old woman. He looks to the others to go out and search the other place they were told they could find the halflings.
Rothanr sees the The Pantry back on Hangman's Lane, next to s stationery shop. Aelid's Goods and Sundries is on Pudding Lane, which is where the bartender told you the Crimson rebels have their base. Where would you like to go?
Harpy listens closely to the old woman's story and at the conclusion of the story turns her gaze to their resident wizard Erik and smirks, "sounds like this job plays right into your wheelhouse, what's the plan boss, how do you think they got in and out? Is there a way for you to check out the veracity of the alarm spells or test them out?"
At this, Katar flicks her hand towards the door and it swings shut. She flicks it again and mutters an incantation. "There, I've set the alarm spell, please go ahead and test it if you like."
Looking at the old woman Harpy asks, "what sort of amulet and wand went missing as knowing what they are and do exactly... might provide additional insight?"
Curious about who the old woman had talked to other days she also asks,"and who was the lovely person from the Blades that you spoke to, did he give you his name, and what did he look like? Did he say exactly what led him to believe that this theft was in fact perpetrated by the Crimson Renegades?"
"Hmm, he was a half-orc. Looked mean, but he talked so nice to me. Black tuft of hair. Said his name was Todi if I recall?" You recognise the description of one of the lower level enforcers on Pike's payroll. "He didn't say why he thought it was the Crimson Rebels, but I guess there are only so many crews stupid enough to go after a shop under your protection!"
Lastly, Harpy then asks the old woman, "what is there to stop a good thief from just grabbing the amulet and wand while you were busy or distracted during the day when the shop was open, what measures do you have to prevent that, are there others employees helping you mind the store, were all items mentioned locked up in a case or secured in some way?"
"Well my dear, first of all, the theft couldn't have happened during the day because they were all there when I went to bed and gone the next morning. And, during the day, I keep a pretty close eye on my wares. Had someone try to pilfer something once and they ended up losing an ear and all the hair on one side of their head. Amazing what fire will do someone! Never had anyone try and pinch anything after that. No siree! As for employees, I work here alone. Nobody messes with me after the whole "fireball" incident and I only get a few customers a day most of the time. It's lovely for your fine gentlemen and flying demon-thingy to come around and visit in fact! Would you like a biscuit?" Katar produces a plate of biscuits from behind the counter and offers them to you.
At the next location, the half-drow finds a place out of the rain. He leans against the side of the building, near the front door and watches for any suspicious looking redhead halflings [Perception: 12, assuming that fact was passed on to the group]. He turns to the Brayton."So... Nice weather we're having,"he gravely tone would seem to indicate that he believes it to be a nice day.
You fail to notice any halflings, red-haired or otherwise. This side street is pretty quiet with just a cat quietly cleaning itself under an awning. The bustle of people passing by on Hangman's Lane is made up of mostly tall people and they all have their hoods up against the rain making picking out details tricky.
"Let's look around find any entry ways. Give me a minute and I'll join you." Erik will begin to ritual cast Detect Magic.
You cast the ritual and your vision swims a little before coming back into focus. The shop is full of many large glowing objects - a shield here, a sword there, a rack of potions by the window. Katar also seems to have multiple magical items about her person. Given the nature of the shop, this doesn't seem particularly out of place. Roll a perception check.

You notice a faint glow near the back of the store. On closer inspection, you find a bottle that has apparently rolled under a pile of towels in the bathroom of the shop. It's almost empty, but there's a small amount of liquid remaining in it. As you look closer, you see there's a second liquid inside the main bulk of liquid. It's red and repeatedly growing and shrinking in size. Give me an arcana check and another perception check.

With a sigh the human goes out and and enters the shop again to test the spell.
The moment you open the door there's a loud wailing sound - it sounds like a number of bells being rung at the same time as a flock of parrots start shouting and cawing. You clap your hands to your ears. Katar smiles and waves a hand. The noise stops. "Told you I can cast a good alarm spell! Learned from the best. Master Fallon Umberkirk of the Mage's Guild in Powell. Best alarm spells in the business! He was so handsome too! Great teeth. Fantastic hair! If I hadn't been married..." she tails off, looking into the mid-distance.

You fail to recognise what the potion is. From the blue tint provided to it by the Detect Magic spell, you know it's from the transmutation school, but that's about it.
You do noticed something else strange in the room. The latrine is a simple wooden affair that comprises of a shaft with a diameter of about a foot which appears to drop straight down. However, you notice in the corner of your eye that there are some deep gouges in the wood of the shaft. From the light colour of the revealed wood, they seem to be relatively recent.

Laza chuckles and using prestidigitation plays the first few notes of the wedding march ending on a flat note. While doing so he gives Katar a closer look, to see if it seems she's hiding anything. insight5 ((nope... she's being 100% honest :P ))
Erik will grab the bottle and give it to Katar "You have so many magical items that my detect magic spell has thrown me off. What liquid is in this bottle?" Get Katar attention "Also have you seen this?" Erik points to wood of the latrine.

Katar looks mildly disappointed you didn't take a biscuit and puts the tray back.
You can't make out what caused the marks, but they extend as far down the hole as you can see. There are four of them and they run in roughly vertical lines, although they're not entirely straight and wave in an irregular fashion as they disappear into the darkness.

Katar looks at you "That's very childish!" she says, smiling softly. Watching her throughout your time in her shop, you've not noticed anything to suggest she's hiding anything or is trying to mislead you.
"It seems like a point of entrance to me " says the human pointing at the marks "and exit. They probably used it to bypass your alarm spell and rob you, and they took the effort to make a good job trying to conceal it, so probably their are thinking in coming back sooner or later."
Harpy nods in agreement with Rothnar's assessment, "that is very likely so we might be able to turn this little discovery to our advantage. Also, it would be helpful if we knew where it leads to or where it comes out at?"
"Ruhvon, can you look at this potion? We can't seem to discern what potion this is. We also have markings in a latrine." Erik keeping the potion shows Ruhvon.

Ruhvon snaps his head toward the voice, breaking his concentration on his watching of the streets out front. He follows the wizard back to the water closet. Looking and the bottle in question, he leans in and gives it a smell. "I have no idea what that may be," he says gruffly. "Doesn't smell like a poison."
The half-drow pulls back his hood and kneels down. He begins to run a finger around the scratches. "Perhaps some sort of beast, maybe one that can shape change or under the control of another could have clawed its way up from the sewers. I am not far from being able to do something like that myself."

From your investigations, you're not sure what could have made those marks. It could be claws, it could be a weapon, it could basically be anything hard and vaguely pointy.
Whilst the drop from the latrine is too small for a person to fit down, from your time in the sewers, you know the sewers under these streets are often large enough to fit people comfortably.
