Ruhvon will continue to scurry around the warehouse, looking for a way inside. Once inside he will look/sniff around for anything that would indicate that Sammus may be up to any sort of illegal activities.
Keen smell: 18
As you scurry around, you notice an open window set high in one wall above a pile of crates. You attempt to quietly climb the crates to reach the windows: 8 As you jump from one crate to another you lose your grip for a moment and have scrabble madly to keep your footing. You hear a voice from around the corner "Oi, who goes there?!" and you hear running feet coming your way. In a second they'll be around the corner. You have an opportunity to run away from the warehouse, or you can dive through the open window and make it inside (but the guard might be on the lookout for intruders).
"Well I've returned recently to the city. My father used to come here and talk to me of your fine cuisine, so... I guess we will have to wait to next week then... put my name on the list if you are so kind..."
"Well I've returned recently to the city. My father used to come here and talk to me of your fine cuisine, so... I guess we will have to wait to next week then... put my name on the list if you are so kind..."
"Very well, sir. I can give you a reservation next... " he consults his book "Wednesday? 7pm? What name shall I make the reservation under, sir? How many of you will be joining us?"
[Yes, he would inform the others... He will roam around as a gray and brown house cat.]
((I think you're a cat rather than a rat, but your plan still makes sense)) You make the final jump into the open window and land on the floor on the other side. It's a fair drop, but your cat form can take it easily. You quickly look around and spot some crates of vegetables by the wall and make a dash for the gap behind them. You make it in the gap and pause a second to see if anyone saw or heard you: 7 Your landing on the floor didn't damage you, but your claws clattered noisily on the floor. One of the workers milling about looks up from what they're doing and yells to their colleague "There's a cat in here! Must have got in through the window!"
The other worker turns and sees you as you dash behind the vegetables. "Good for catching mice, but we can't let it get into the meat stores. We should get it out." You hear him approaching your hiding spot, making shooing noises loudly.

"Certanly. Reynolds... Burt Reynolds. It will be four of us if you please." nods Rothnar following suit.
"Very well Mr Reynolds, I'll make your reservation. We look forward to having you join us." The bouncer nods politely and scratches your reservation down in his book.
((You can carry on investigating as you wish for as long as you like and, whenever you're ready, we can move to the night of your booking))
“So we got to this dinner and try to scope out our guy? Do we kill him then? Escape through the trap door? You guys want to follow him, there’s a chance he won’t even be there. You think we should check him out in the meantime?” Brayton will brainstorm
More accustomed to sneaking through sewers has the druid a bit out of his element in the warehouse. The frustration of being able to shake the pesky guards causes the hackles to raise a on the back cat as one approaches from around the corner. The feline druid glances around for another place to hide...
[If a spider can squeeze between the slats of the crate and get inside, Ruhvon will change into a spider and hideout there for a few minutes. Otherwise, he will bug out with his tail between his legs unable to really find anything out and return to the inn waiting for the others.]
"We don't know if he will be at the dinner. I will take it as a scouting visit to the restaurant and see if that's a good place for doing it. Do we have more information on the target?"

Yes, there's large enough gaps for you to slide into the crate without difficulty. When the worker rounds the corner of the crate he looks puzzled and takes a lap or two of the crate, looking for a you. "I could have sworn I saw a cat. Must be going crazy." Eventually he goes back to work and leaves the immediate area around your hiding place. You're able to take a few minutes to observe the comings and goings of the warehouse. There are a number of carts being unloaded and other beings loaded with vegetables and meat supplies. You note that the meat is being kept in a distinct area marked by magical sigils. Workers going in and out of that area are wearing an extra layer of clothes and, as they cross the barrier, their breath begins to mist in front of them despite the generally warm weather.
After a couple of minutes, a shipment of cabbages arrives in a large cart drawn by two horses. Most of the workers ignore it, but a couple of workers who are dressed a bit better than the rest take charge of it and lead through a gateway into a separate area of the warehouse which is sealed off by an internal wall. The gate slides shut and the area is hidden from view. The gate and walls of the separate area are both solid and extend to the ceiling. A guard stands by the gate.
Laza has been hanging back for a while, but seeing his companions so busy says to himself "well... can't let them have all the fun..." and heads to Eloise to ask her a few questions.
Meeting up, he'll ask "Eloise ma'am... I'd like to know a bit more about this Sammus fellow and maybe those who he keeps close, or those he keeps away from. Can you tell me about any friends he might have that aren't connected with his work? Perhaps they would also have information about ways to get close to him."
Eloise leans back on her chair at her kitchen table, contemplating. "Well, he's close with his family. He has a wife and two children. He's also got two brothers. Oliver and Roman. Oliver is a small-time business owner here in Nyalean. I think he owns a manufactory on the outskirts of town. He's rich, but nowhere near Sammus' level. Roman, on the other hand, hasn't done as well for himself. He works down at the dock and spends too much time in a tavern from what I hear. I saw Sammus meet up with Oliver once or twice in the last few weeks, but haven't seen him meet Roman."
"He's got rich friends too. Auric Letani runs a magical emporium in the market. Only has one shop, but he makes a fortune as each item is so expensive. Loris Nekron is another person I've seen him hang out with. Some call him the Lord of War. Runs a series of blacksmiths in the region. They make all sorts of weapons and armour. Sell some to the Empire. Some to freelancers. I bet some of the Champions of Justice shop with him." She chuckles. "Then there's a whole raft of distributors and farmers he buys from and uses to move his produce. Sammus is top of the tree, so they're all much smaller time than he is. Not sure if they're friends as such. I could dig out some names in a day or two if you'd like?"
Laza nods asking "Which taven at the docks? And what does Oliver look like?" upon hearing the answers will say "That will be enough for now. Thank you." and heads that direction.
On route to the bar Laza will use his hat to change appearance to look more like a dock hand, though still a Tabaxi of course. Entering the bar, if he recognizes a person with Oliver's description he'll plop down at the same table (though not across from, or next to, kind of on the other angle), order a pint, and just stare into it for a minute.
The spider makes their way over to the area where the cabbage cart went. They rest on the false wall, waiting for the cart to return.
[Wanting to hop on the cart when it comes back out and get a closer look at the driver(s). If my wildshape would be running out soon though, I will just make my way back to the inn.]

You make it down to the lower level and rejoin Rothnar a street or two from the restaurant's front entrance.

(I'm still a rat, right? If so I'm going on through the window and trying to find a dark corner to hide in until the coast is clear.)

Brayton will tell everyone of the trap door once back together.
