Able to dodge through the wreckage of the ship. With the aid of the one with the pretty hair, pulling the one who sang so nice out from under the fallen mast. And making it to the water it is only to late that Mati realizes that her doggy paddle style of swimming does not work so well in the crashing waves. Lucky for her the one with the hair helps pullher along and keep her afloat. As the orcs pull them out of the water she is at first shocked watching in awe as they go about their work. She seems frozen but locks eyes as the last one looks back at her and feels a pull to join them but to late as they disappear in the crowd of guards. Hearing the words of "Pretty Hair" she turns "I am ok. Thank you." Then watches as familiar magic flows into "Singer's" injuries. "You follow Luthic?" She draws near looking at the healed wound. Her clawed hands are surprisingly gentle as she examines the leg. "Singer all better. You do good."
A bit confused "Luthic is the Cave Mother." Seeing that this did not seem to mean anything to the half-elf "She shows us how to raise the young, protect the cave, and heal. If we follow well and pray enough she gives us her magic so we can be her claws." To emphasize her point Mati extends her arm to the side so that Lyslyyn has a good view of her claws, which seem to shimmer and sharpen she then rakes them across the ground at her feet.
"Oh. Yes, nature is good." It is clear that she does not understand but wants you to think she does. "Luthic likes nature. I practice magic on animals after my tribe get rid of me. On animals and goblins. I like animals and nature."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Syvar sits down and gasps from the exertion, spitting out seawater and watching the bruises and gashes disappear from his leg. "Oh, that feels... much better. Good as new, in fact."
(OOC: Syvar restored 8 hit points to his character sheet. He feels much better!)
He stares at the healed wound with some amazement. "A worker of miracles and an orc touched by Luthic's hand. Truly, I have been blessed to have such talented companions on this fateful day!"
He pulls out his notebook and scribbles down a few more words and smiles wanly up at them both. "As I said, a good day for stories." Then Syvar looks pensively out to sea. "I hope the captain made it out." He looks around at the former crew pulling themselves together and the city guards. "I don't suppose any of you understand why that horrid beast decided to attack us, and if there's any hope for the captain? What a brave dwarf."
(OOC: {Investigation: 14} check to question the nearby crew and guards about the nature of the attack and what might have triggered it. {Insight: 23} to assess if it's at all plausible that the captain survived and if so where they would have wound up.)
After that he squints into the sky. "In any case, now that we're here, I think we should find someplace to hole up, rest our feet, and sample the local cuisine. I don't have any plans to be on a boat for a while as long as that thing is out in the bay."
"I wouldn't consider it a miracle," Leslynn smiles, "just doing my best to help. Feeling better? I do think it's a good idea to look for somewhere to spend the night."
"I wouldn't consider it a miracle," Leslynn smiles, "just doing my best to help. Feeling better? I do think it's a good idea to look for somewhere to spend the night."
"What is a miracle but help that arrives at precisely the right moment? And yes, I'm glad you agree on this; I also can't wait to see if there's a library around here!"
Stealing glances at the half-elf Mati starts to comb her claws through her tangled hair. She gives up as she finds that she is more likely to pull the hair out than get the knots out. Looking rather forlorn she continues steal looks at Leslynn and imitating her every now and then.
"I wouldn't say cave, but there is defiantly going to be at least one inn here." Leslynn doesn't seem to notice what Mati's doing. "And I suppose you're right, water must have distorted what was happening. Shall we go?" She turns to her newfound companions.
Confused that her new friend didn’t want to stay in a cave but then said she wanted to go ‘in’ she stands in silence for a few moments with a confused look on her face. Snapping out of her thoughts at the mention of going. She grunts in agreement. She moves to follow behind Syvar

"Who's Luthic?" Lyslynn asks, letting go of Syvar's leg and turning to the orc.

”We go look for cave?” Joining Leslynn in looking over the water Mati gives a grunt “Water move around to much. Hard to see”
