"Sorry. I'm not the dancing type, at least not sober." Gregor seemed to be the most familiar with the area, or at least with the fort. He might not be an official guide but it was enough for Lyon. She follows along with the others not seeming to notice Tren's 'song'. "This is a capture mission, correct? We will have to be careful not to kill the kobold but that can be dangerous."
"It would be, yes, Miss Lyon. But we must also keep in mind that we may come across other things then our target in the woods. And fortunately or not, we may be forced to deal with those things instead." He expresses. "I took some time back there to make a mental list of some other possible targets, so today will not turn out to be a complete bust so long as we run into at least something."

(Sorry for delay. But there is an way to find targets, the War Boyz actually started it. You see, the first area of the forest is not as heavily dark as the name suggests. It is possible to track certain targets but with your limited knowledge you all might not know what monster you all are following. I will give a description of possible monster and let you all determine if that is or not the monster. But alas, it is not perfect as it will not always be your target and it will be the only track you have until you progress deeper or around the Dreadwood. But time for a first encounter, which was a good one for you all.)
As the group starts their venture into the forest, after a short while, they meet with a small group of knights. The knights are coming back from an extermination quest for an nesting Owlbear. They tell the group of the hoard of equipment they've found stashed there and offer some it. They'll take the rest back to the keep for supplies.
They offer a Shortsword, Mace, Longbow, Trident, or a Whip.
Tren bows to the knights "Well met, my good sirs" he looks at the offered weapons "Not that I wish to impose on you good fellows more but could you tell us about this forest and where you found these?"
"you want to sell the whip? Or just give it?" Trogon askes while stepping from behind trying to persuade the knights as best as he can to give the whip away. Ability scores: 11cha
"I'm only a little man and in need of some defence. I would like to see if a whip is something for me."
"Any of you know brave knights know where to find kobolds or have some knowledge of the area, where to go and what to avoid?"
Lyon was content with her current rapier and dagger so she wouldn't take any of the offered goods, people back at the fort would make better use of it anyway. "Well, at least we know this area is clear. Thank you for your help." She nods to the knights when start returning to the fort.
(Is there something we could roll to give us a clue to the tracks when we find them? Seems like a survival thing and if so Lyon is pretty worthless on that, sorry.)
(To Tumblebee: Not sure if the ability scores roller was intentional or not, but to try and persuade them you need to roll a d20 + charisma modifier(+proficiency bonus, if proficient in the skill). The short hand bonus to the d20 should be in the mid portion of your character sheet)
(To Trenet: To have them already pre-silvered WOULD be a bargain. Save you at least 100gp.)
(To Lyon: Same. But if we can use the help action to grant advantage, then there's that. As posted prior, I was hoping to maybe use prof. in nature as the excuse for Gregor helping with the check.
Gregor silently abstains from adding another two cents on the offering. The others had already asked the same question as he might have, so bother adding into the inquiries? He watches the knights movement carefully during out of similar, if but unspoken suspicion as Tren.
ooc: the Dice roller is on the second column of the commands in the reply area it looks like a six sided die select d20 and then add your modifier to the Add to result column
(Oh no, they're legit giving one of the weapons away.)
@Tren & Gregory
They are knights from the capital, bearing a dirtied motif of a lion on their shields. They are freshly wounded but nothing severe. Their total number are 4. Two have the look of the frontal fighters, while one has a bow and the other wields a mace. The weapons, although slightly smelly, are as what they say. The only one that seems odd is the mace, it seems to shine beneath the grime.
The knights shake their head, saying that they've followed a trail left by a ranger to lead them here. And the knights are happy to give Trogen the whip if he wants it.
Trogon runs towards the knight, happy with his new weapon. He thanks the knight and checks the whip. After he has checked it he starts practicing, rather clumsy.
"Let's go on" trogon said to his group, with a big smile.

Once everyone had their wishes fulfilled in one fashion or another, Gregor continues to follow along as quiet as a church mouse for a time.

If he procures the Mace he hands it to Kain "I think this will do you more good than I."
As they move on, he continues looking for traps for he thinks that is what Kobalds do
all the while wondering why the halfling who claims to be a druid chose a whip.
None of the windfinders whom were druids of the sea that were hired to fill the sails of their ship would touch such a device. They usually armed themselves with Scimitars slings an clubs. He even knew one that used a mace.
" Thanks Sir Tren..."Kain takes the mace and hang it on his belt at the side.
"Even though to be honest i allready have my trusted blade here..."He shows on his back a Large greatsword, the blade is blackend so that it doesn't reflect light in dark spaces and the Hilt is the form of a crow's head with horns that protrudes from the sides and wraps around the crossguard.
" But, you can never have enough weapons i guess."

Tren dose something that he thought he would never do he reaches for the Mace and holds it in his hand.
"This weapon would probably be good for subduing creatures. If I may"
hefting it "Aye, Maybe it would be a boon to Kain."
He says to the Knights seeing the halfling practicing like a excited child with the whip
"Are you parting with this one too? Or do you need some coin for it?"

"but you can't claim a bounty when you're dead" trogon countered.
" Nevertheless, let's hope Gregor has a better idea of time than I have." He smiled, again trying to give his whip a crack without much luck.
All of a sudden trogon realised he didn't have any pebbles for his sling. He scanned the surrounding area.
