"I prefer to bathe in the blood of those that cross me" Stone would say flatly... glaring to Ilvisar. "My dreams have only ever said I needed to protect the woman.... not once have I been instructed not to slaughter you in your sleep" He would reply with a cold gaze.
As they make their way into town, Stone would feel a mixture of emotions.. mostly anger... "Alright Hallie... where to now?"
”Who said anything about following it? I only asked if you had seen it. I see no reason to change course for now. And I will be happy to find you a lake to bathe in pirate.”
Ilvisar points to Xil, "Xil here suggested we follow it. I prefer to bathe in the sea, but if it has to be fresh water, I prefer it hot in a tub."

As they make their way into town, Stone would feel a mixture of emotions.. mostly anger... "Alright Hallie... where to now?"
Ilvisar makes a 'tsk tsk' motion with his finger, replying, "Now now. I do right by my friends. It would be a shame if you are struck down and all I can remember are your threats. I make a much better friend than enemy."
(No one else has been here except Stone. Stone - They all came here following your lead to help you get some revenge. You’ll probably have to show them around par at least tell them where to go)
"This place has gone to shit since I left... I assume the Blackburn family is to blame. They are like a cancer on this city" Stone would say as he spits on the road. "Follow me, we can head to my old place.. Get something to eat and figure out our next move." Stone would say shaking his head at his surroundings.
Walking along the West Side of the city you come to a small house with a low slant shingle roof. The windows have been shattered, looks like someone threw a rock... or a couple. What looked to be flower beds in the front of the house look to be overrun by weeds. A few red flowers still poke through the weeds and vines. The door is still locked. Using his key, Stone lets you in. It’s dusty and dark, humble but cozy. It might be a tight fit. You walk into a living area the leads straight into an open kitchen. A small table with two chairs resting is wait for a meal to be served. There are two rooms off to the back. Bedrooms, one is closed and locked.
So you figure out where everyone is sleeping for the night. Waking up refreshed after sleeping on something better than a bedroll for the first time in days. The morning is yours to do what you want.
So as Stone walks into the house, he pauses for a moment... as if expecting someone to greet him. After a few seconds pass he makes his way into the kitchen and lays his pack on the kitchen table and pulls out some rations and spreads them out before tossing his bag on the floor, covering up a large redish-brown stain covering a the wooden floorboards. "I imagine any food I had kept in here isn't any good anymore, but I got plenty of rations.. If your hungry." The large goliath would say moving through the house and grabbing blankets and laying them out in the living area before starting a small fire in the fireplace. "Get your sleep... tomorrow I want the entire Blackburn family crushed beneath my boot." He would say before heading into the unlocked bedroom and laying down for the night in the dusty unmade bed that appeared to have been left exactly how it was the morning Stone left this place...
In the morning, Stone would leave his bedroom with a small smile on his face, his arms stretching up and touching the ceiling. It is only after a few moments when he walks into the living area and looks into the kitchen that the smile fades and quickly turns to a frown. "You guys ready to go?" He would ask in the gruff cold voice you have grown accustom to.
Ilvisar replies to Stone, "How big is this Blackburn family? You helped save me from the noose, so I feel compelled to aid you, but if we're talking about snuffing out dozens and dozens of people, I think that would be a little more than any debt I owe you."
The next morning, Ilvisar will take inventory of his belongings and check for their serviceability before getting ready to leave.
"Oh, I am sorry... I didn't realize saving your life in return for help getting my vengance was such a bad deal.. I didn't realize that it was interfering with all those important things you had planned to do AFTER YOU WERE DEAD! Because silly me... I thought... the only plans you had before we came along were rotting in a shallow grave somewhere!" Stone shout at the top of his lungs, his face turning red. "You see that!" Stone would shout as he points to the brown and red stain on the floor of the kitchen. The stain looks to be old and though it had been scrubbed hard, the red and brown remained soaked into the wood. "That is the future of the Blackburn family! The only mark on this city they will leave behind is going to be a blood stain!" He would scream his rage filled eyes become glossy and a set of tears steam down his face.
Ilvisar whispers, "I was never going to hang. You all just happened to be one of two set of rescuers intent on releasing me. My captain is probably laughing at it all, waiting for me to show up to once again join his crew. But in the meantime, you did free me first, so a favor for a favor."
Looking at the blood stain, "Not everyone can be everywhere at once. Bad things happen to strong and powerful people too. The difference between the strong and the weak is the strong will do something about it. I'm all for getting revenge, for making those that would cross us pay for their insolence. But if you get unhinged just talking about vengeance, I worry you're going to really lose it when face to face with the Blackburns and I'm not going to commit suicide with you.
You can absolutely ask too for too much. I will not spend the rest of my life chasing your Blackburns because that is the price you demand for saving me without having ever agreed to said price. If you really want to think about something, I could walk away because I agreed to nothing. Don't abuse my generosity. I decided, on a whim, that I would return a favor. Choose your price wisely."
I start laughing. "You actually think there was some other rescue coming for you? Your captain had ample time to scoop you up once we got you off that gallows. Why do you think you are still with us? Did you see your ship at the docks? Did you notice any of your crew in that crowd of folks calling for your death? Do you think you are not being hunted at this moment? That word is not being spread of all of us? We are the only reason you did not end up at the end of a noose and working together will be the only reason any of us avoid ending up there still." Turning to Stone "We have already said we would help you. But information will help us as well. Please tell us what happened to your family and what your goal is to get the justice they deserve?"
Ilvisar shakes his head 'no' as he retorts, "Once the escape started, my captain or whoever he arranged to free me would have had no reason to become exposed. They just had to watch and laugh at the city guard. Now he just has to wait for me to show up at one of his common ports of call. No, the ship would not have been in port... that doesn't make sense. Why would a pirate ship return to a port it just escaped from? And lastly, I am a pirate. A pirate with a known face now. So yeah, I'm sure I'm being hunted to some degree and will be for some time. Another thing to keep in mind as we trounce around this city killing an entire family of Blackburns."
The goliath would chuckle and wipe his nose "Fine... you wanna know what happened. Grab a seat and stay a while" Stone would say as he grabs one of the two chairs in the kitchen and plops down hard in the chair with a loud creak. "A couple years ago I caught a young punk kid trying to shake down the general store just down the road. I slap some manacles on him and haul his ass to the watch and toss him in a jail cell. The whole time I am hauling this guy in.. he keeps telling me that I am going to regret this... and asking me if I know who he is and that I will regret this... " The goliath leans forward and rubs the bridge of his nose. "Well guess what.. I didn't care who he was, he broke the law in my city and he was going to serve his time. Anyway, I toss him in the cell and fill out my paperwork and leave for the day. When I came home, Ruby... my younger sister... She had already prepared dinner for me and was excited to tell me all about her day. She.. she was smart... real smart. I worked my ass off and put every coin I earned towards helping her to achieve her dreams." Stone would run his large hands over the top of his head and close his eyes as he continued to talk. "I had to use my reputation in town to make up for my lack of coin and notability.. but I got her into college... She was doing great too. We laughed and talked about our day, the day was actually pretty uneventful and ended just like any other. I can still remember how good the stew was that she made that night. it wasn't until the next day when I reported for duty that I noticed the guy I had brought in the day before wasn't in his cell. When I asked the captain about it, he pulled me to the side and began laying into me..chewing ME out and asking ME what I was doing arresting Drake Blackburn.." Stone would say standing up tall and pointing to his own chest. "He told me the Blackburn's were untouchable and to let it go before kicking me out of his office. When I returned home, pissed but looking forward to seeing Ruby.. I found the door open. Instead of being greeted by her smiling face and the smell of a warm meal... I was greeted with her laying face down in a pool of blood and the smell of Drake's stinking breath as he repeatedly stabbed me in the back with a dagger.. As I laid on the floor before everything went dark.. he whispered into my ear..... I told you you....
"Hours later after being left for dead...I awoke and crawled over to Ruby. She was gone. I.... I buried her. I buried her and I buried my dreams that day." Stone would turn away from the group and look out a small dust covered window. "Of course the LAW didn't do anything against the Blackburn's... said I didn't have enough evidence for a case... That was when I realized Laws are for the weak and believing laws will protect you is foolish. Only your own strength can protect you.. And I am going to use my strength to crush Drake's Skull!.
Stone would turn and look back at the others. "I got transferred shortly after her funeral... .there was nothing left for me in this town and I wasn't dumb enough to try to take on the Blackburn's while being watched so closely by the watch... so there... now you know the story of Stone."
Ilvisar smiles, "Then lets go pay Drake a visit. There's nothing I like more than seeing an idiot... I mean he left you alive with nothing to live for... realize how stupid they are.
Xil says, “Ilvisar owes us nothing. We all intervened separately because deities told us to in dreams. We owe each other nothing. But we are where we are. We have now chosen a similar path. I am willing to help you seek revenge. But we do need to know what we’re up against. Obviously you had no problem arresting him but who is his family? How powerful are they? How far does their power reach? All things we need to know before you kill this guy.”

Hallie scoffs at the stories the pirate keeps telling himself but leaves it alone. As Stone begins telling his tale her hands reflexively wrap around the hilt of her swords, knuckles turning white as he continues. "You're right Stone. The law failed you. And it has no meaning in this city. We shall get you the justice you seek and show those in power here how the law is supposed to work. We need a plan. And we need more information." I stop and think for a few moments. "This Drake, what do you know about him and his position in the family. The pirate is right we need to know how many we are after and what we are likely to face. What do you know about the Blackburns?"
Ilvisar looks annoyed as he says, "Don't get used to calling me 'pirate'. You call me that at the wrong place or the wrong time, and I won't think twice about leaving you behind when you bring trouble down on our heads."
