Ringo gets up and stands behind Kalmar as he gestures towards Volo with a handshake to seal the deal. He then says "I guess we better get moving then to this bar the Skewered Dragon."Ringo then heads over to the bartender and tells him to "keep two of your cheapest rooms, one with two cots, ready for us and available for the month" and then he lays out 2 dragons and eight silver coins to cover the rent ((going based on dm guide for poor rent which is 2 sp per night... if more tell me and will make adjustments.))
Once all is said and done Ringo steps outside the bar to wait for Kalmar and Fluttercloak to venture out and investigate. While waiting he takes a deep breath and through his pursed lips lets out a sigh, "I mean, it was a good day today. We fought a troll and won. What's the worse that can happen to us now?" he says to himself oblivious to the future.

"Yeah, we should stay there for now, but I figure we can use this as a HQ until we find a more suitable place, or hell, maybe even our own! And then we can open a place for the people to find safety and sanctuary...." Ringo says with a gleam in his eye.
((if that is the case Ringo will try to negotiate a long-term stay with Durnan before leaving to see if they can get a cheaper rate, and even mentions he'll play some shows some nights to help offset the cost. Going to use Performance check if that is ok, with the idea that Ringo plays a little tune for Durnan to convince him))

I meeeaaan Kalmar’s only got what he carries on his back, so he doesn’t need a long term residence at the moment, I think we’re better off going to the Skewered Dragon and doing the Performance check for the reduced rate there. We’re a little light on funds to be paying two rents... Fluttercloak and Kalmar could even back you up, FC magic or mimicking or something and Kalmar could do some sword tricks or juggling or some such, we could have a little act...
As they make their way to the Skewered Dragon Kalmar floats an idea. Listen, boys, we’re looking for a bard, right? We’ve got Ringo here, Flutt, you can do magic and tricksy stuff, I could... juggle or do feats of strength or something. We could pose as a traveling act, if him being a bard had something to do with his disappearance it could help us find out where our man Floon went.
Ringo, trying to keep up with Kalmar's long strides, nods in agreement, "it'll be like the old days when we were with the Phantom Players. Except for this time you get to show off some of your hand juggling skills and not your beat-the-shit-out of unruly customer skill."
Kalmar lets out a hearty laugh, then, with a wry smile says I’m sure we’ll all have an opportunity to administer a beating or two before this is all over. he claps his companions on the shoulders in a comradely fashion, still riding the high of defeating the troll and takes a deep breath I smell an adventure here, boys! Fortune and glory await us, a trio bold enough to seize them! Let’s go get to the bottom of this! And a mug or two of ale!

((Just fyi, Floon is not a bard, there was another bard in the Yawning Portal that Ringo spoke to. Let me also get a history check [knowledge local]))
Fluttercloak: 4
Fluttercloak emits a dwarven-sounding "Aye!" from his beak, and the three of you head out. It is a lovely early autumn afternoon, all manner of folk are out and about of their errands. You travel south out out the Castle Ward, heading down the High Road, across Waterdeep Way, and into the Dock Ward.
As you turn a corner, you find yourselves on a street that has been cordoned off by the city watch. Lying on the cobblestones are a half-dozen corpses, seemingly the victims of some terrible skirmish. Watch officers have disarmed and arrested three blood-drenched human and are in the midst of questioning witnesses. One of the officers sees you. "Go on," she says. "Nothing to see here."
Kalmar takes in the scene in front of him, trying to discern what happened investigation17 he addresses the watchman taking note of his rank and falling back into the posture and attitude he used among the Purple Dragons when he was a cadet.
Seven Hell’s! What happened here? (Insert watch officer’s rank here.) Did those three do all this?
"Xanathar's and Zhenterim, more of the same I'm afraid," the watchwoman says, her eyes making a scan of your gear in search of any mark of ranking or faction, seeing none ((correct?)). "These three are the only surviving culpable, they're likely to be charged with murder."
Ringo, the guard seems more keen on keeping people away from the three thugs being arrested than anything else, and you make your way a fair bit through the crowd, emerging at the very edge of the thong before being turned away. The three thugs eye you coldly, their hands on their heads, and you discern from their gear that they are Zhenterim. An oddly raven-like guardsman approaches the witnesses, passing you with a wink. "Alright what do we have here?" he says in a gruff tone that somehow seems contextually out of place in its timbre. "More gang violence..."

Kalmar, the guardswoman looks troubled by this. "The Black Network does indeed spread far..." she ruminates. "It was a couple weeks ago, to be certain, the Zhentarim have always payed due mind to the Xanathar's control here." She spits on the ground at having to acknowledge this. "Something changed. Some play, some gambit, something gone wrong. I've never seen blood spilled like this in the open. I've heard of the Purple Knights, an honorable sort. I can trust you to stay on the right side of the law?"

Kalmar nods in commiseration with the guard. Of course. And as long as we’re trusting each other, can you keep my affiliations to yourself? He leans in again Im here looking into the Zhentarim influence and how far it’s spread. We’ve had some infiltration in the watch in Cormyr, it can be hard to know who they’ve gotten to.He puts his hands on his hips and looks over Atn the bodies again in exasperation There’s been no indication as to what this inciting incident could’ve been?

Durnan nods to you and takes your coin. The three of you step out into the afternoon air, the city of Waterdeep open wide and full of adventure.
