"I think it's best if we continue on." Georges said. "I sketched an image of the serpent, just in case there is a similar statue out there somewhere." He began to walk, but then stopped. "But, I can't help but feel a bit wary. As if we're missing something important. Maybe I'm just being paranoid."
Navi would pull out the map and make sure she’s updated it from their journey here. She’d even add some notes about the statue and to refer to George’s sketches for further detail and history. She’d look up at the statue, “I feel the same. But if we aren’t camping here for the night, we may as well cover more ground.”
Corum looks over his shoulder at the statue I would prefer not to camp here. No telling what might sneak up on us in this obvious place of importance. Do we want to finish the circle and see where else we can go?
The statue to the south is similar to the statue in the north, but the creature is a bit smaller, more muscular and lacking the fin and its "gem" eyes are missing. From here, no road leads south, only back to the north and to the east and west.
Talking out loud Corum says, Thats odd, I wonder why this one is different...
Perception 20 to see if the eyes where ever there or if they were pried out like he did to two of the others. ((Wondering if it might be a different caste of these creatures maybe they wouldn't have used gems for eyes for a caste they think is too low??))
Ulrich attempts to try and figure out what is going on but can;t place his finger on it either. "Well I guess we continue on to the middle of this "structure" and find out what is inside?"
He will continue to make a point of staring into the forest line to see if he sees any other moment.

Ulrich turns to Corum, "Hey Corum, I just had a thought, might be a dumb one but you never know. Do you have any of those Gems you pried out of the eyes of the other snakes handy? If so why don;t you grab two of them and pale them in the eye sockets of this statue and see if anything happens? They might unlock some secret compartment or reveal something invisible around, to help explain this madness."
OOC: You can now tell you are at a crossroads (like a big traffic circle with the large statue in the middle). The main (wide) road leads east/west, and a small road leads north/south. The smaller snake statues lead away from the central statue on the east/west road and the reptiles face away from the central statue north/south.
Corum looks at Ulrich strangely for a second before understanding what he means shrugging he digs two eyes and climbs the statue and places one in each socket.

The gems sit loosely in the reptilian statue, but have no effect.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"One of these roads could lead to a temple." Georges said, looking at the smaller statues. "After all, we have enough reason to believe that this was in fact a town before. Maybe they worshipped these 'yuan-ti' things that Ulrich spoke of." He tried to remember a bit of mythological history from his classes to see if it could be possible for any of the roads to lead to a temple or church.

"Hmm. Well at least we have an idea now. Is there anything else for us teh check now? Or continue?" Navi would look to the others.

There are indentations for eyes, but no evidence remains as to their fate.

Navi would nod, "Aye. I'm ready to move on."
