"That is a good idea. Did you have a thought on who would take which path? I wondered if the Quartermaster or whomever is sent with our payment would be able to tell us what the queen has already done?"
Nemeia spins the small set of tools as she thinks and offers up the suggest, "There's a lot of coin in raw materials. I know a lot pass through home and they've got to come from somewhere. If I had go guess, I'd bet he's got several mines harvesting up the good stuff. You can make a lot of money if you know how bad certain people want some minerals. I mean, there's certain minerals that I'd be willing to give quite a bit for myself. Maybe if we do well enough at this little mission, he'd let us have a nice bonus of some ore...." Her train of thought seems to veer away from useful as she plans out the future she could have if afforded that sort of quantity of ore.
Sora had a deep scowl on her face as her mind went back and forth on the best options going forward, not particularly liking any of the choices she was considering at the moment. "I wanna see the queen face to face. Even if it's just to get a sense from her. Which means being at this gala. But I don't know if I'm gonna want to be there long." Suddenly her expression changes as an idea crosses her mind, "Hey that might be a good plan, maybe we can all show up at the party just long enough to make an appearance. Then half of us can sneak out and keep investigating outside of the party while the other half stays behind and covers for them. That way as far as anyone is concerns we were all at the gala." She bit her lip lightly as she thought about how to take advantage of the gala, tapping the leather wrap that hid her thieve's tools thoughtfully. "Yeah, I think I'll head in with everyone but I don't plan to stay there talking with people. This is a perfect opportunity to gain access to the castle and possibly find evidence we wouldn't be able to get anywhere else."
Nemeia nods along as Sora details her ideas. It all sounded like something out of a story. Of course, Nemeia would volunteer to stay at the gala. There was much to learn from high society and even offered some opportunities to rub elbows with people that had the funds and power to help her with her projects. "I like that idea quite a lot. I will gladly stay at the gala and make sure that plenty of people see me so to not draw attention that some of us may be missing."
“I’m would be better off leaving the gala, but I think we should have at least 3 of us inside, so if Moira or Witt would like to leave, I’m fine with staying. Just be aware that... I’m not the best person to have around at these kind of gatherings”, she pronounces the latter part of her sentence with some notes of hesitation, her voice unusually peaking a little for the slightest moment, before returning to the raspy, creaking voice she usually possesses.
"I think I would prefer to stay at the gala as well. It will be good to find out who is who here. I think having Nemeia, Witt, and me stay would be good. And maybe I can send Rusty with you as a means to keep tabs for a bit."
Sora nodded along thoughtfully as everyone described their preferences while she tried to come up with a plan. Honestly she was much better at doing this stuff on the spot rather then having to plan out everything ahead of time. "Alright so Moira and Nemeia can definitely work the party itself. Witt and 9 don't seem like they want to attend though. Question is where do you two want to go instead? I'm planning to get into the gala, but only as a way to try to sneak into the castle itself. Which might go badly now that I think about it, so anyone who wants to join me would be super helpful."
"We're all invited guests to the queen. I think we all need to at least make an appearance if our invitation extends to this event. Slighting the queen in this given situation may not be how we want to start this relationship."
Sora shook her head and decided to shift her thoughts to something else. "Well we have time to work out the details, which we can leave for tomorrow. How about we do something fun for tonight? I heard about a fun pub I'd love to visit. Anyone wanna join me?" With a quirked smile towards everyone, she stood up and started making her way out of the room.
Gus takes but a moment to verify his ledger before shaking his head towards Moira,"Alas my pretty rose garden, I'm afraid I don't have anything for you at the moment."
"Oooh, how exciting! Well depending on your budget dearie I can recommend several lovely shops in the Merchant and Noble sectors. I'll be sure to make a list for you so you can shop around. Although I'm afraid all of the nice shops that I know of would be closed by now."
Nemeia thinks for a moment on Sora's invitation. There were many intricacies that she wanted to work on now that they had an actual room to stay in and she felt like she hadn't practiced her craft in some time. Could she really delay her training for a night of drinking and fun with her companions. Not really, but it was the socially acceptable thing to do and Nemeia wanted to get to know this area better anyway and what better way than to meet locals in a tavern.
I'm happy to stay here, says Witt. Though I don't mind coming along for the shopping, tomorrow I suppose. I'd like to avoid the gala, but perhaps we can find something else to do. What do you think, 9? Who else in the city would know about the queen and the assassination and everything? The watch? The temples, maybe? I wonder...
Sora grins to the rest of the party eagerly as she starts making her way out of the inn, "Alright, everyone on the party train, let's go find a good time. We still have to celebrate the successful completion of our escort quest right?" Heading out with anyone who's willing to join her, she'll make her way to the tavern called "The Blood Pit", asking for directions as needed along the way.
For those who join along with Sora, you make your way past the inner wall of the city that separates the Merchant and Labor sectors. Soon you find yourself in a much seeder part of this town. Asking around, it's very easy to find The Blood Pit. And soon you stand before a large and unusual building. At first it looks almost like some monstrous mishmash of multiple buildings. It's as if two completely different people started building to very different structures on either side of the building, and then half way through they both gave up and a third, completely different person came in and built a giant building that connected the first two together. Even the sign above the doorway appears to have been built with random pieces put together.
The majority of the sign looks like it was originally for a different pub, half of it destroyed, possibly by fire given the scorch marks. Only a few of the blue colored letters seem to belong to the original sign which reads: The Bl- P- The rest of the sign is made up of what seems like randomly selected pieces of wood with the new letters carved into it and painted red making the whole sign read: The Bl00D PIT
Moving inside the structure you find the entire place has had huge sections of it rebuilt over the years, creating a massive space of patchwork tavern constructs. The tables and chairs all appear well made and sturdy, but there is no unifying pattern to any of them, as if made from a random collection of tables and chairs brought in over the years.
Already the tavern is quite busy from all of the locals looking to relax and enjoy the strange level of entertainment this place seems to provide. Looking around, this is clearly a favorite for the commoner locals, as workers of all kinds fill the seats and the bar. On the other end of the large building you can already see and hear cheering for whatever it is that people come here to see.
Nemeia looks to Sora and says, "Well this place is interesting. Where'd you hear about it again?" She looks over the area trying to take in the various people that seem to come to this place often. "I'll follow you,"Nemeia says with a bit of unease. "It'll be fun, right?"
Rejoining the others as they head out to The Blood Pit looking a bit sheepish. "I may have been a bit overexcited and forgot how late it is. I guess I will have to go shopping tomorrow." Entering the tavern I point toward the cheering. "Looks like fights are over there. Think you're ready Sora?"
"Gus told me about this place. This is so cool!" Sora grinned as she strolled inside, eager to find out more about this unusual tavern. First she would buy everyone a mug of ale at the bar, then go in search of what sort of bar brawl entertainment this place had that Gus mentioned.

"I think I would like to see what they have for clothes shops here for now. But I might join you later and see how well you do."
Once we are done discussing plans in the room I will go down and talk to Gus "Has any message or delivery from the castle come for us?"
Gus takes but a moment to verify his ledger before shaking his head towards Moira, "Alas my pretty rose garden, I'm afraid I don't have anything for you at the moment."
Moira
"No problem. It appears we will be attending a gala at the castle. Do you know where we might be able to find outfits for such an event?"
