It's a crisp Fall night along the sword coast. Somewhere along the Trade Way north of Daggerford your party is camped down for the night. In a small wooded area just off the road, under a cloudless and starry sky, the three of you sit around a warm, crackling fire in silence. In each of your possessions is note, each bearing a crest depicting the stylized head of a golden fox with a rose clenched in its teeth on a purple background, and each bearing the same message.
"Let it be known to whomever is in possession of this letter, that the Town of Nightstone is seeking the aid of a third party individual or group of individuals in a sensitive matter concerning the local Elven population. It is no secret that our town and the Elves of Ardeep Forest have been at odds since the towns founding ten years ago. Tensions between the citizens of Nightstone and the Elves of Ardeep are coming to a head, and so we are asking for a neutral party, ideally one who is diplomatically minded, to act as amediator. The town of Nightstone seeks a peaceful resolution to our on going disagreement with the elves and wishes to avoid bloodshed on either side. Anyone who is interested should report to the Nightstone town keep, and inquire with myself, Lady Velrosa Nandar. Elven applicants, and other non-human races, are especially encouraged to respond, to avoid any attempted accusation of racial bias. Anyone who can help bring about a peaceful resolution to this conflict shall be justly rewarded, and shall be considered a friend to house Nadar of Waterdeep.
Lady Velrosa Nandar, Noblewomen of the City of Waterdeep, Lady of Nightstone township."
The courier who handed you these letters seemed to be carrying a large stack of them, and appeared as though he would likely be giving them out to anyone he came across. When asked for more details, the man didn't seem to have anything, and barely understood what he was actually handing out. "Can't read." He said "Jus' be knowin' some guard at the keep paid me sum o' gold to give these here papers to folks I'd seen along the road. 'Twas headed south to Daggerford I was, and needed the money, so I says 'sure' and sure 'nough I'm here doin' it aren't I? You be the first folks I've met who didn't toss it aside right away, but it ain't for me carin'. Well I need to get movin' still a long road to Daggerford it is."
The man continued south along the road while your party continued north. This was about midday, and now, as the three of you prepare to turn in for the night, you have a choice to make. You've all been travelling together on the highroad with the intent of heading North, your final destinations and reasoning's being your own. Between the three of you you know that Nightstone is a modest township south of Waterdeep. While actually going there would take you off the main road for a short while, its not terribly out of the way and is only a few days travel from the city itself. You also know that you will need to find a place to winter in the coming months, though there is still plenty of time before that is a pressing issue, some gold would help, as would having the gratitude of a Waterdavian Noble. While you may discuss the pro's and cons among one another, you know you are a little less than a days walk from the town, so a decision to inquire about the job, or to simply ignore it and continue your trek north, will have to be made soon.
Zack was in the middle of eating one of his rations, pondering over the unique trinket and letter they had each received. He had met these people along the road, and they seemed decent so far. Chewing on a particularly tough piece of jerky as he looked to the others. He had never seen a Dragonborn in his life, and he thought they were both strange and fascinating beings. Though his eyes would slide towards Nadia a bit more often than he'd like to admit - He was having a Deja-Vu-like sensation, of when you think you see someone you know, but you're not sure, and don't want to embarrass yourself if you're wrong. Drinking from his waterskin to wash down the meat before moving onto the next part of his .. well dinner. He cleared his throat, after chewing down the last bits of grits and taking another swig. Then, looking to his two companions, looks them over one last time, taking in their features, and measures.
So uh.... I don't think I ever got your guys names, now that I think about it.... heh.. he would say, brushing a gloved hand through the back of his black hair, along his neck before proceeding Ah, right. Rude to ask someone else's name before... My name is Zack. I actually grew up not far from here, down that way pointing towards Daggerford On a farm near the Way Inn. Been almost 10 years since I was last there.... But right now... I guess we all have a decision to make huh? Personally, I think I'm gonna accept and head that way, I need the money, and Hey.. Elf girls are cute! Maybe I'll be able to convince one of them to join me ....he says, keeping his peripheral vision on the only female present to gauge her reaction.
After that little bit of conversation, he paused, to allow the others to respond as he began to dig into the last partition of his rations, his eyes darting to whomever was speaking at the time. Somehow, his talking made the other two feel a bit more... uplifted? Each of them gaining + 4 Temp HP (Inspiring Leader Feat - Variant Human)
As the others spoke, if they decided to look at him thoroughly, they would see a tall human, roughly six feet, two inches high. Jet black hair, that seemed spiked in a fashion similar to a Wolves Mane - Except that single bang over his eye. A crossed scar on his lower left cheek, that he had gotten from some event in his past. His eyes, almost seemed to glow a soft, sky-blue. His sword, an unusually shaped great-sword, an extra long handle, with a flat base, and a large, but thin 'razor' shaped blade, that was almost as large as he was. For the mostp part, the blade was black, except it's razors edge tinted, but not made of or with silver.
While it was clear he wore chainmail, he had worked some of his clothing over it, to where the only visible parts of it were the scarred black pauldrons. Over the short area, was a deep black vest, covered more by a rather large black belt, held aloft by black leather straps. over the leggings, were pants, loose fitting but held up by the belt. And finally his shoes were similar in appearance to black 'hiking boots.' On the backside of his armor, the leather straps formed a cross, that was shaped in such a way as to holster the large blade, without hindering it's unsheathing.
Nadaar can be humming to himself, lost in his own little world. A state the other two have seen him at least once or twice before since meeting him until reality inevitably forced a rain check. But unlike most times a set of parchment could be seen floating in the air beside him. Whenever he does bother to pause, he whispers into the space as if talking to someone. A few seconds later, the pen gets to inscribing something. To what end, the dragonborn has been coy about however, yet promised to show by journey's end. Beyond it, and perhaps his name given once at first greeting, he --
"Haven't gotten my name yet?" Nadaar parrots, eyeing the human with a measure amusement and renewed interest; listening with rapt attention, if only to keep hunger from his thoughts. A brow ridge goes up, and he too glances at their third companion before his grinning toothily at Zack. "All women have their appeals, but I see you are a man of culture. Hah! I would be wary though about getting too close, if such might be the intent. Only sorrow lies down that path... or so hear. And I have heard many a things -- Ah! But, do you forgive me, Master Zack. Nadaar the Golden, at your services." He said, and would get up if the two were not already close to offer a hand.
Even hunched over, if only just, the dragonborn easily loomed over both his compatriots at six foot eight. In the glow of the campfire, it made him all the more menacing. And yet, meeting him eye to eye, such feeling tended to pace quickly in the wake of catching the mischevious gleam to the emerald orbs. Gold ringlets can be seen among many of the dreadlocks-like scales running along the back of his head like hair. And strangely enough, at least to those that knew dragonborn, golden whisker like scales extending from his snout, giving him a makeshift man-shu. Other than this, he was fairly unextraordinare at a glance, and was in fact fairly scrawny. For a dragonborn.
If attentive enough up until now, one could swear he walked and talked like someone of a noble bearing, or closely associated with the cast. And yet, he often switch between that and casualness. His clothing doing even less favor, as the cloak he wore was ragged edges. Beneath it is a simple white blouse overlapped by leather chest-piece and tan breeches. He wears no shoes, but instead bears layered foot wrappings seeming more for emergencies than any casual discomfort. At his hip rests a run-of-the-mill longsword to one side, and a horn to the other.
"On the subject of the offer, I think I really /will/ be taking them up as well. Coin aside, it does represent a unique opportunity to learn about the people of the west. One I would have to be a fool to pass up... not that their plight does not also tug at this one's heartstrings." He chuckles, and with one last strong shake, breaks the hold to sit back down.
Nadia had been chewing at her thumb's fingernail as she looked over her map, the note in her other hand, focused on the route she was on with the compatriots she found herself travelling with. Since this was the first time she was on the road, she tried keeping herself within a few boundaries, but it looked as if she would need to stretch them out a tad if they wanted to do this kind of job. The men seemed capable of handling their own (her dark maple colored eyes flickering between the two before looking back at her map), though she had to question if she would be able to do the same. She knew her way around a bow and arrow, and although she wasn't particularly good at close combat, she could use an axe if it came down to it. Maybe the one with the comically large sword could help her in that area if they continued to work together.
Her attention was drawn from the two papers when Zack started the conversation, the wood elf eyeing him closely until he made the comment about elven girls. The reaction he got was a simple eye roll with Nadia going back to observing the map again. She mentally thanked the dragonborn for keeping the others attention off her, but retracted it once he spoke. Dios mio, out of all the men in the universe... They could be worse, I suppose.
The good thing about the two of them, she realized soon after they began travelling together, is that they looked to be fine meat shields, reason being that she was such a shrimp compared to both of them. Only a mere five foot two inches, she felt as if both of them towered over her and could easily block her out of view. She blamed her height on how bottom heavy she was. Damn her fine ass and thick thighs! In addition to those features, her face and body were speckled with freckles and moles in seemingly strategic locations that added to her beauty. She donned regular earthen colored leather armors intermingled with light leafy colors with a bow strewn across her frame and an axe at her hip, a gift from her sister before she departed on her own journey.
She began the process of folding her map, slipping it in the pockets of her armor before moving to pull her long curly blonde hair into a ponytail. After a moment, she finally spoke. "Guess our little rag tag team stays together then?" She questions with a slight smirk. "I'm in too, mainly for the coin. Name's Nadia, by the way. Sorry for being, uh, focused on other things instead of striking up a conversation with you two. Kinda weird we've been travelling together for a bit and haven't gotten each others names."

Zack wasn't sure what to make of that reaction, other than she seemed put off or annoyed? Regardless, he listened to them both. The Dragonborn looked quite interesting, but even more interesting.. or perhaps odd, in Zack's opinion, was the mans behavior. Shifting his neck to crack it a bit, as the constant back and forth had made it quite stiff. Finally, finishing his Ration, he tosses the container into the fire so as to not leave trash behind, but also keep himself from needing to hold onto it. Then, using his sword to stand, like a cane, before strapping it to his back, would say Perhaps for them, but that's why you make sure they know you're not in it for the long haul, and you don't give em a reason to fall for you. I'm not cruel, but it's hard to pass up a cute girl, and, when it comes to looks.... Elvish ladies are the best around. In any case, it's Nice to meet you Nadaar.. offering his hand to shake.
Regardless of whether the Dragonkin does or not, And yeah, there's also that. It's part of why I like being out here.. doing what I'm doing. I get to see things, I never would have if I'd stayed a farmboy all my life. And if nothing else, it's fun. Soon after, Nadia began to speak in that odd, elvish dialect she seemed to have. But he brushed it off, it sounded annoyed, and he didn't want to push. And heh, it happens. I've traveled with plenty of faces I couldn't name, and ... at the time I'd say we were strangers. We've hung around each other long enough to not be strangers anymore or perhaps now was just the best time, sicne it seems like we'll be doing more than walking next to eachother eh? he flashed a smile (16)
that seemed to brighten the area with his sheer positivity. But it's getting late, And we'll need to be fresh for the morning. So I'll take first watch. You two get some rest. And unless someone protested, He'd pull out the torch from the side of his pack, and stick the tip into the fire to get the flame going, before heading to the peripheral of the camp to begin patrolling, keeping an eye out for danger. (Perc: 20) Keeping watch once the others took their rest.
If someone tried to take it instead, He'd try to argue that he would be fine, but could be won over with a strong enough argument.
Nadia finds no qualms with letting Zack take the first watch, getting up from her place from around the fire. "I'll take the second watch then, since I don't think Nadaar can see well in the dark?" The ending was more of a question since she didn't know much of the dragonborn race and she gives a slight apologetic look to the bard. "Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, mijito." If and when he answers, she gives him her attention for the time being, nodding and noting the information down for future reference before going about and laying down her bed roll.
If the conversations ceased: She would bid the two a, "Buenas noches." and lay her head down to sleep til woken up for her turn on the watch.
Nadaar gave Zack a dubious look at his counter point about elven relations, but he smiled all the same and refrained from challenging it further. As for the handshake, he did offer first, and may invariably have to switch up hands in case Zack favored one over the other.
"Sadly not, dear Nadia."Nadaar had been quick to say despite appearing to drift back into his own thoughts. "Despite their lack of wisdom, our creators were wise enough to not bless us with such, least me and mines be more capable of slitting there throats in the night." He said as casually as talking about the weather. Shuffling over to look over his invisible scribe's work in passing, and then readying as if to go back to his work, the black-scaled dragonborn pauses and blinks owlishly at the sky.
"Watch? Oh! It is that late already? MY, my, my how the time flies~ I shall take the last.You--"He points to Nadia."-remind me in the morning to ask we're you grew up, my dear. That accent of yours is rather lov-mn... Interesting! Ah-mn... Tomorrow, or some other time even, perhaps." With that, he makes some off-handed gesture to the side, causing the unseen servant to busily get to work setting up his bedding and thensome while the dragonborn watched with a look of mild amusement. "Nini all." He would say at its end before bedding down.
Zack, as your compatriots head off to bed you take up the first watch. Your watch is thankfully uneventful, the only sights being the starry night sky and the only sound the crackling of the fire, punctuated now and then by the sounds of trees blowing in the wind. While slightly chilly, the fire helps keep things very comfortable and it's hard not to feel content on such a peaceful night. Before you know it Nadia is tapping your shoulder, letting you know she is ready to relieve you so you may rest.
The rest of the night is equally silent. The peaceful continues through Nadias watch and eventually into Nadaar's watch and into early morning. As you all get up for the day you eat your morning rations and start packing up camp, once everything is packed up you start heading north on the road.
11th of Marpenoth
The road is not entierly empty, as has been the case earlier in your travels you've pass merchants traveling with their carts, some full of wares other with very few goods, all on their way to one of the major cities along the coast and a few heading to some small township or hamlet you've never heard of.
As evening approaches, you spot a wooden signpost next to a trail that heads North into the hills. Nailed to the post are three arrow shaped signs. The two labeled "Waterdeep" amd "Daggerford" follow the High Road but point in opposite directions, the latter being the direction you just came from. The third, marked "Nightstone" beckons you to follow the trail into the hills. On the bottom of the third sign it looks like someone carved into the wood "10 Miles", probably a late addition to the sign itself.
With the decision made the previous night, the party follows the path towards Nightstone. After following the trail for about 10 miles, you hear the ringing of a bell. The sound grows louder as Nightstone comes into view. A river flows around the settlement, forming a moat. The village itself is contained within a wooden palisade, beyond which you see a windmill, a tall steeple, and the high-pitched rooftops of several other buildings. Apart from the ringing of the bell, you detect no other activity in the village. The trail ends before a lowered drawbridge that spans the moat. Beyond the drawbridge, two stone watchtowers flank an open gap in the palisade.
South of the village and surrounded by the river moat is a cone-shaped, flat-topped hill on which stands a stone keep enclosed by a wooden wall. The keep, which overlooks the village, has partially collapsed. A wooden bridge that once connected the keep to the village has also partially collapsed.
Zack was busy making small-talk with his companions, when the clear ringing of bells began to make their way into the conversation. initially it was a am I hearing that? sort of sound, but after a little more, it was clear it was a bell. At first... Zack stayed at a casual pace - Perhaps theirs some sort of celebration going on? Maybe we made here for their thousandth anniversary, and someone discovered how to move items from one place to another? Perhaps that's your bell Nadia? the last part said mostly as a joke, but the bells continued, and Zack began to get worried. He started to jog, sword still sheathed as the group got closer, whether they were following his speed or still at a casual pace.
As he got closer and saw the clear destruction, initially he thought it might just be disrepair, until.. he saw.. the Keep... His eyes shoot wide, Though he didn't know exactly what was happening.. this sort of thing was what he did back in his days in the army... or rather.. tried to prevent. He waited till the others joined him, if they weren't already there, and drawing his sword, Readying an attack if something clearly hostile attempts to attack him or someone near him.
Yo, I realize I'm not your guys boss, but I think some shits going down.. and please don't be sarcastic and say 'well obviously' ..... his expression serious, but his head bobbing as he says the remark But I don't know what.... yet. But I feel we should head towards where the bell is... I don't see any people around.. which means.. if something very bad is happening... either they've all fled to the keep... or.... they're all kidnapped, or dead... This has all the signs of one of the above being true. Lets hope I'm wrong. And the bell is the most likely place for them to be...
A heavy sigh, escaping as, whether they followed or not, he would start to make his way to where he just said he would, sword ready for any hostiles. (Perception to see Hostiles if needed - 5)

Nadia stopped mid sentence once she heard the bell, her lips thinning and eyebrows furrowing when it wouldn't cease to ring. She shoots Zack a look after his snarky little comment, but gets over it and gives him a nod as if to say 'Yeah, I'm hearing it too'. She follows behind the fighter with her bow drawn, also readying an arrow in the case of seeing anything she would consider an enemy. The elf keeps a stoic look about her visage, trying not to let her fear get to her, but she couldn't stop her heart from picking up pace. For a moment, she focuses on her breathing, but keeps an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.

((oop i meant perception not persuasion lol sorry!))
The dragonborn ahd been mostly watching the exchange between the duo with a look of curiosity when the bell's ringing reached them. Although Nadaar rarely let paranoia get the best of him, his casual demeanor subtly and slowly shifts to the more serious as the ringing reached the group, and a hand rested subconsciously on the pommel of a longsword. He would not jog quite as eagerly as Zack. But, his legs worked themselves into long and more natural strides now that restraint for his compatriots was no longer the issue.
In place of words, Nadaar just lofts a brow ridge instead in Zack's direction, but limited remarks to just that. "A impromptu trial for us all the same. And one we best be ready for." Nadaar eventually comments on as he too drew his longsword. However, registering Nadia's look and movements to be more akin to a hunter, the golden whiskered dragonborn bit his tongue and would to hear her findings before alluding with a gesture forward for Zack lead the crossing of the bridge. "Quietly, if we can? At least as much as we can be. The bell should mask our movements, but you can never be too careful."

As you approach Nightstone the first thing come to is the Drawbridge. This 10ft long wooden bridge has two chains connecting to two stone towers at the gate. From here you notice there are 7 towers in total spread around the perimeter wall though as far as you can tell this bridge appears to be the only way in and out of Nightstone.
Nadia, as you approach the bridge to notice several tracks at the head of the bridge where it meets the dirt path. Stopping to examine you notice that most of the tracks, which appear to have been made by several humanoids, seem to head North. You also notice several smaller humanoid tracks heading from the North toward the draw bridge. Lastly you see two sets of prints that look like they were made by an unusually large wolf or other lupine creature. These tracks are also heading into the town.
Zack, your companions are behind you and you notice Nadia seems to be inspecting something on the ground before the drawbridge. Looking back to Nightstone you see no signs of life in the town square, what you do see however is troubling.
Several large rocks, you guess about 3ft in diameter each, are embedded the earth. There are obvious signs that these rocks have plummeted into near by buildings as well judging by the destruction. These rocks easily would weigh some several hundred pounds. Under a few rocks you can see what you are fairly certain are stains of blood.
The square itself is a muddy open area, besides the rocks there are the remains of destroyed carts and wooden stalls. In the center there appears to be a hole in the ground, north of the hole there is a well.
The ringing the bell drowns out most noise, not enough where you need to shout to talk however. The ringing of the bell seems to be coming from a temple which, judging from the loud ringing, is the building closest to the main gate in the square, to your left as you would enter. You can also see several other buildings along the square. One such building is next to the temple, a large two story building with a sign reading "Nightstone Inn" and another building opposite the square from the Inn bears markings that would identify it as a trading post. The other buildings around appear to be farms and houses in various states of destruction.

Zack takes in the sight, slowing his pace and jogging in place, his eyes constantly darting behind him, making sure his fellow travelers weren't ever too far behind. His eyes darting around every corner as soon as he passes it, expecting some sort of ambush - that so far, hadn't came. Zack would have flinched if he hadn't seen similar atrocities before.. though he mentally admitted to himself though I've never seen anyone crushed by boulders.... what the **** is going on here? When he spotted Nadia pausing to look, he held his position, his feet never stopping, maintaining his pacing.. keeping himself ready for the fight he kept expecting but, so far, was pleasantly disappointed.
Talking back to Nadaar I'm not exactly the stealthy type.. all speed and power man... Sneaking and hiding .. not so much. Just use me as a distraction... I've... done this before. Though it's my first time with such a small group... I'm used to being part of a larger group.... So you two can hide and follow, and I'll draw the attention of anything that want's to dance, ya feel me? Zacks expression had shifted from that snarky, sarcastic, and fairly carefree appearance it had before, and in the brief flashes either of them got a look at his face, he was focused, and serious, but most of all, alert.
Keeping his sword at the Ready, and spinning left and right periodically in a random pattern, he waited for Nadia to finish before saying But we should keep moving however we do it. Standing still just allows us to get surrounded..... by whatever is here.. He continued like that, patiently for a while longer, waiting for Nadia to be ready, not wanting to split from the group, more to protect them from whatever might be near, rather than fearing being by himself. Once Nadia and Nadaar were ready, Zack would turn-heel, and continue on, asking Nadia Didja notice anything that might help? His tone was serious, not mocking.
Assuming nothing happens before this - Once the 'hole' is seen, Zack would glance over, to determine if the hole was natural or not, and what might have caused it, without pausing in his tracks. Zack would still stick to the edges of buildings as he went, hiding his form from potential archers, or other forms of mundane ranged weapons or spells, as he still wasn't sure of exactly what was going on. Continuing to head towards the ringing.
Nadaar eyes narrows as he replied, "No, I don't 'feel you'. Stay ahead if you wish. As the most armored, such is wisdom. But make at least the effort to avoid attracting attention. Least you attract too much at once, and waste a perfectly good life."Then the dragonborn's posture grows lax as he says, "C'mon. There had to be at least one or two adventurers -- m-misions -- however you wish to put it, but that you had to rely on the Lady Tymora at the very least to act outside the norm. So, why not have faith one more time, my friend."Even if Zack had lingering doubts, there was something behind the words of encouragement harder to ignore. A sense of fleeting embolden, but a power that was his to call upon in the future.
Nadaar gave Zack Bardic Inspiration:
Once within the next 10 minutes, the creature can roll the die and add the number rolled to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw it makes. The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails. Once the Bardic Inspiration die is rolled, it is lost. A creature can have only one Bardic Inspiration die at a time.
He looks next to Nadia as well, longsword drawn at the ready. Once they are on the move he follows not too far behind the soldier. He mutely thanked Hlal, dragon goddess of laughter, for the jest, as it eventually becomes clear the bell tower wasn't far from the entryway at all. Even then he played it cautious by sticking under awnings, and ducking below any windows on the groups eventual approach to main entrance. Well, an entrance. The Dragonborn wasn't too picky at the time.

Nadia's eyebrows knit together as kneels down to better examine the footprints, her visage going more serious. After taking a minute to inspect further, when Zack had approached her she answered quietly, just loud enough for him and Nadaar to hear, "Look at these footprints," She insisted, using her index finger to point them out to the other two. "Two kinds of humanoid footprints, both heading north." She first points to the average sized ones, then to the significantly smaller ones. "But then here..." Her hand moves to the large footprints. "Wolves perhaps?" She proposes as she brings herself back up on her feet, giving a quick brush to her pants then presses forward with Zack and Nadaar, trying to be as quiet as possible like the dragonborn had tried requesting (Stealth: 11).
Upon seeing the rocks however, she frowns. "Do wolves and whatever chucks rocks at things often work together? This is... weird, to say the least." She asks quietly, then looks up at the church. "Maybe some civilians took refuge in there? Should we check it out?"

Nadia, you catch up with Nadaar who is by the door to the temple. You both notice this modest wooden temple appears to have miraculously avoided the destruction that plaques the rest of the town, at least as far as you can tell from near the main door. You both see Zack approaching a hole in the ground, roughly in the center of the square. He leans down to examine it.
Zack, the hole in the ground is roughly five feet deep, the proportions of the hole would suggest that something once stood here and was likely removed recently. You think you may have some knowledge that may be relevant...Yes, you believe you remember hearing something once about this, possibly in a book or from someone in casual conversation. You don't quite remember where you heard it, but you do remember hearing that Nightstone was named after a large chunk of black rock that was in the center of town. Beyond that the rock exists and is, apparently, no longer here, you know nothing further about it.
As you are inspecting the hole in the ground you catch the tell tale signs of movement from up ahead. Looking up you see two large. wolf like creatures walk into the square from behind the inn. They have rough looking grey fur and a large mouth that shows several razor sharp teeth. In each of their mouths is what appears to be either half of the dog, likely their most recently kill and soon to be meal. As they enter the square they stop suddenly as they notice you by the hole. They each drop their kill and start to growl angrily at you, before coming in to attack. Both creatures are about 30ft ahead of you and to your left.
Nadaar and Nadia, you both notice the two creatures enter the square as they start to take aggressive actions towards Zack. Nadia, you feel reasonably certain that the two creatures that just revealed themselves have not yet noticed you.
Zack, one of the two creatures rushes towards you with murderous intent and blinding speed. It quickly closes the gap between you but you were ready for such a situation. As it comes within range of your attack you strike upwards with your blade 22 for a potential 11 of damage. Your blade hits its mark and the creature howl in pain as the blade cuts a large gash into its flesh. However the creature does not falter and it continues its attack against you, attempting to bite your arm 7 for a possible 7 damage. Unfortunately the creature hits its mark, ripping out a chunk of your flesh in the effort and (STR SAVE: 9) nearly pulling you off your feet, though you remain standing.
Nadia, you just saw the attack take place, both the creature and Zack landed solid hits on one another and both look severely injured as a result, however Zack looks in far worse condition by far. From your current position with Nadaar the injured creature is about 50ft in front of you, the other one is 80 ft away.
[Nadia is up followed by Nadaar then Zack ending with W2] [Also Zack as 1d6 of bardic inspiration]
Nadia whipped back around when she saw the two creatures trudging forward straight to Zack, her eyes widening in horror seeing how easily the creature took a bite out of the fighter. Truth be told, half of her wanted to scream and run, and the other half wanted her to sit in place and not move. If she doesn't move, they couldn't see her, was her mentality, until she actually started to use her brain and realized they didn't really see her at all. Using this to her advantage, she moves away quietly, as much as she could before pulling back and arrow and shooting it directly at the beast that attacked Zack.
Attack: 25 Damage: 9

"Just had to go near the hole, did'n ''e?"Nadaar chuckles mirthlessly under breathe. If he were to be honest with himself, there was some temptations to let the soldier take another bite for good measure and not heeding the words. The thought gets savagely casts aside as he tightened the grip on his longsword, and glared at the one that bit Zack.
Here they come, through the power of dumb! If they wanna live, they better run! Ya pooch, I'm talking to you! For soon there'll be, you in two!
He raps in goblin, knowing the tongue could agitate even a baby into pulling a knife on the cretins. The taunt given, he looks back to the temple, and if there's a window to climb through, he slips on inside next. Though more than that, the trace of magic behind would wheedle its way inside as echoes, acting as needles to the mind.
Action: Nadaar Casts Get Owned, Pup!, Wisdom Save(DC 13) or take 1 psychic damage and disadvantage on its next attack.

Nadia, you arrow strikes into the beasts Muscular neck, blood gushes from the wound. The beast stagger briefly but does not fall.
Nadaar, you do indeed find a window to the temple, however the windows you see appear to be mainly decorative. The one closest to you is a stained glass depiction of the dawning sun, the on the opposite side of there door there is a Stained glass image of a verdant forest. Though beautiful, they offer no way of actually opening them without breaking the glass. Before trying, you issue your taunt towards the beast. The already wounded creature seems to grimace, before shouting out in the harsh Goblin tongue. You alone understand it to be screaming "Get out of my head Demon!". As it turns out these are its last words as after a brief moment of trying to shake out the voice in its head it slumps over in a pool of its own blood.
[Nadaar still has his movement should he wish to try to go somewhere else or try entering another way, otherwise it's Zack's go. From Nadaar's position Zack is 50ft to the east, There is a boulder 10ft in front of you, also to the east, Nadia is 30ft south of you behind a boulder, The last creature is about 80ft to the east out in the open]
Zack, the creature in front of you seems to have perished from the combined attacks of you and your allies, leaving one more about 30ft from your current position. Behind you are your allies, there are two boulders behind you as well, one 10ft away another 20 ft away but slightly to the south of your position.
10th of Marpenoth
Time: Midnight
Tensions between the citizens of Nightstone and the Elves of Ardeep are coming to a head, and so we are asking for a neutral party, ideally one who is diplomatically minded, to act as a mediator.
Maybe I'll be able to convince one of them to join me .... he says, keeping his peripheral vision on the only female present to gauge her reaction.
Occassional Dungeon Master.

Occassional Dungeon Master.
(If they continued then we wait haha)
Nadaar gave Zack a dubious look at his counter point about elven relations, but he smiled all the same and refrained from challenging it further. As for the handshake, he did offer first, and may invariably have to switch up hands in case Zack favored one over the other.
"Sadly not, dear Nadia." Nadaar had been quick to say despite appearing to drift back into his own thoughts.
MY, my, my how the time flies~ I shall take the last.You--" He points to Nadia. "-remind me in the morning to ask we're you grew up, my dear.

Occassional Dungeon Master.

Least you attract too much at once, and waste a perfectly good life." Then the dragonborn's posture grows lax as he says, "C'mon. There had to be at least one or two adventurers -- m-misions -- however you wish to put it, but that you had to rely on the Lady Tymora at the very least to act outside the norm. So, why not have faith one more time, my friend." Even if Zack had lingering doubts, there was something behind the words of encouragement harder to ignore.

(OOC correction, I'll post after the other two do)
Occassional Dungeon Master.

Edit: Rai told me that if a creature can’t see me, then I get adv on the roll, so I’m gonna roll again just in case the roll is better! Sorry!

"Just had to go near the hole, did'n ''e?" Nadaar chuckles mirthlessly under breathe.
