"If anyone's bored the nightguard is recruiting watchers. Bad news for me. 'Suppose I could use some help checking it out." Bowark speaks up, still waiting by Kordak.
Kordak grunts and then smiles. "Nightguard you say? Doe that mean we get paid to rough people up if they get to close to us? Sounds like good gold to me." he says with a smile and motions for Bowark to lead the way.
"You folks are quite the paranoid lot. If we get food, do you need me to taste it for you to make sure you're not poisoned. I'll leave you enough not to starve."
"Guard duty sounds alright even though we'll need torches."

Perplexed by Ozrick’s strange attempt to secretly flavor our beer and his lack of any response to my gesture of goodwill, but apparently unable to recall another acceptable establishment nearby, Dagobert attempts to repair relations with the bartender by enquiring about Exler Milk. “Ozrick, my dear friend,” he says, “seeing as we’re regulars here, I hope you’ll overlook my reptilian colleague being a little jumpy. I suppose it was my fault for having made a joke, in rather poor taste I might add, about poisoned beer just before this unfortunate misunderstanding occurred. Now, in all honesty, a 5 gp beer is quite out of my league at the moment, but I’m intrigued to learn more about this rare spice of which I’ve never before heard. Tell me, where do you source a spice so rare?”
Actually, it's a tortle spice. Your friend may have heard about it. It's milk from rare cows living on the great wanderer (a giant turtle island). It's so rare that it costs this much. I offer it to regulars.
“With it being such a high value commodity,” Dagobert replies, “there must be security concerns with its transport. As a conciliatory gesture for my friend’s faux pas, I would like to offer you the services of myself and my companions to ensure the safe delivery of your next shipment of Exler Milk.”
“Ah yes,” Dagobert nods in agreement, “the criminal element must be dealt with.”
Dagobert climbs onto a barstool so he can be at eye-level with the bartender. “Now this may seem like an odd question, but tell me, friend, have you heard any rumors of something called ‘the Labyrinth’?”
Insight: 10 Did Trevor think the barkeep was lying?

Bowark chuckles darkly, "Heh, could be. Anyone else in? We can get grub on the way."

To the knowledge of the people in the tavern, the nightguard were just gards working at night, but more payed than guards. It's also more dangerous.

There's no shipments. Tortle merchants regularly come.

“I see. Well, perhaps there’s some other service we could render to you to show appreciation for your kind gift? I assure you, I can be quite useful.”
Dagobert casts mage hand and uses it to pick up a rag from behind the bar and mop up the spilled beer.
Thanks. NO you can't do anything for me. But I'll be glad if you protect this city. He sympathicily smiles.

“I wasn’t aware that the city was under attack. Protecting its people is of utmost concern to me. What threats do you know of?”

Nothing except an old myth for children.

Dagobert thinks back to all the stories he was told as a child to see if any of them bear any similarity to the dreams he has been having.
“I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard that tale,” he says to Ozrick. “Would you mind recounting it for me?”
