I am no wolf, simply a Druid. I've been travelling to learn and expand my skills. I was drawn to the manor above, as something felt not right with it, but unfortunately I was attacked by that man before I could investigate any further. He was stronger than I expected, and as I'm more a healer than a fighter he overpowered me. I've the skill to turn into an animal, if I wish. It gives me a little extra life and has been a saving grace for me a few times. I also enjoy being at one with nature, and being in animal form helps me with this. What is your groups plan? Do you also feel something is strange at the manor?
Keeping to the sides of the path, Virran and Swift cautiously make their way toward the tunnel entrance. Conscious of possible sentries or bored guards in general, each step is taken with care to avoid unnecessary noise or increased detection by passing through the streams of sunlight falling from the canopy. Where the track becomes increasingly well-worn the closer it gets to the embankment, the fringes become less touched by humans. And so, while Virran studies the tunnel entrance intently, Swift is able to forage an assortment of forest foods.
Joining Virran, who nods towards the tunnel, the two of them move to either side of the entrance, where they peer in. As their eyes slowly adjust to the dim light cast into the rough man-made tunnel, they notice no movement or other signs that would indicate the presence of Redbrands or creatures - no noises, sounds or movement can be detected over the period they study the cavern. The tracks on the ground, while hard to accurately reflect time, seem only to reflect the recent passage of humanoid creatures and a few marks that resemble some things being dragged. The drag marks, however, seem inconsistent in their form as they lead into the depths of the Tresendar Manor's cellars.

LSA says to Virran... “I wonder about these marks that look like something dragged. I wonder if they are from some creature that doesn’t walk as we do, but rather drags some of its body as it moves... “ LSA squats down to study the drag marks more closely.
Naivara comes back from her meditation, surprised to see most of her group hanging around in the woods. Virran and Swift are missing, but Brandywise, Stig, Asmodean and the Elf-girl are nearby.
“I am surprised to see you all here. Come, let us move forward and try to catch Virran and Swift. Let us get this done.”
“Young Druid, can I ask your name? I take it by the look of that Redbrand that you defeated you would be out to dispose of the rest of them? We believe they are set up in the Manor and we seek to take down their leader, a wizard.”
“Would you like to join our cause? We would be keen to have your magics to assist us. I am keen to learn more about you. Knowing Virran, he is stealthing off ahead and if there were danger on our path we would certainly be aware by now.”
Naivara begins to move through the woods. She feels good and at full strength. Ready to take this wizard on.
"Wot?" Thinks Bwrb" to himself. "We wus gunna wander in there like lost sheep, one by one?" Still, it is the lovely Naivara. But most importantly, there's a fight on. And maybe some more teeth or pelts to collect.
Bwrb falls into marching order, silently checking his shield and rapier. "If there's room to use, it is the more dangerous weapon". He makes sure a boomerang and hand-axe are in easy reach, for throwing. "In a big room the old boomerang might work, but me bones are saying hand-axe for in here Brandy-boy".
He smiles to himself. "Soon there will be blood. Vegan blood"
Virran whispers to lsa "let's move forward and find out". With that virran moves into the tunnel.
As he moves carefully forward he studies the path for any traps or alarms. He holds his left hand behind him with the palm open ready to close into a fist to signal to lsa to stop incase he does spot something.
The tracks seem haphazard, alternating between dragged and, you presume, carried. The marks are otherwise indeterminate.
@ Virran, Swift and all.
You move quietly into the tunnel, cautiously studying the floor and walls for trip wires or other causes of hurt. You notice floor is fairly clear of debris, with some loose rocks scattered around and a roughness to the walls. At the point where natural light starts fades to dimness, the tunnel turns. The new direction is free from light, except for a very faint glow somewhere down the way.
@Virran
It is also at this point, where the tunnel turns, that your careful scrutiny picks up the faint trip wire running cross the walkway of the tunnel. It is cleverly hidden in the darkness just out of the final light reaching this far into the tunnel. The wire is anchored into wall on once side. The rest of the wire feeds through a loop in the other wall, then disappears toward the faint light at the end of the tunnel. A combination of your careful looking and dark vision made finding it possible, however the wire is taut as it runs off into the darkness.
OOC: Depending on what you decide to do, only give me one action at a time. It might be a little slower, but I’ll need it. The consequences of your choices will influence how things can unfold.
Assuming you are all following along with Virran and Swift, what is your marching order and other actions you'll be preforming. Once the cavern turns, it is considered dark, except for the previously mentioned faint glow.
LSA pulls a torch from her back pack and lights it, ready to shine some light on what might be lurking round the corner.
She is being as quiet as possible and hopes the others coming behind will be mindful of how the sound of their voices and movement might be amplified by the tunnel. She hopes there will not be too much sound to alert whatever might be ahead of them. She really hopes Asmodean does not play his lute. That is sure to alert whatever has ears to hear.
She wonders... do spiders have ears? She hopes not. The thought of spiders, stirred up by the lute playing, dropping from the roof is not a comforting one.
Naivara treads carefully, not too sure about having all the fighters at the front of a long line and the Magics at the back. What happens if the group gets separated or they get attacked from behind? “Too late now...” she thinks.
She keeps her wits about her and uses her acute night vision, looking behind repeatedly to check for an ambush, bow ready, or for any traps or things the others may have missed.

Virran attempts to disarm the trap by taking out one end of the wire the crosses the path and bending it back so that the wire that goes off into the dark remains taut. He tries his best to keep the secondary wire from moving. He then pins the end of the wire to the same wall as the other end so the part can move pa without tripping it but the secondary wire remains in the same position

Virran warns the group of the trap and to be careful as we do not know what it sets off
LSA is holding the torch in her left hand and her bow in her right hand. She hooks her bow over her shoulder and reaches out to try to touch one wall wondering how wide the tunnel is and how easy it might be to fit two people side-by-side. If they could fit side-by-side, would they have room to use their weapons? This knowledge will help her to determine actions she might take should the trap be sprung or they are engaged in a fight. Would they be picked off one be one because there is no room to move?
While her right hand is free, she shields her eyes from the light of the torch and looks around at the ceiling, walls and floor to see if there are any markings, carvings or other artefacts of note. She peers down the tunnel towards the faint glow they saw earlier. She wonders what the cause of the glow might be. Is it white like a lantern or red like a fire?
You are able to remove the wire from the anchor without any problems. You bend the wire around and step away, believing it secure. However, as you take a step back, tension on the other end of the wire pulls it through the loop of the other anchor. You are unable to stop it in time. Bracing for the worst, you are (pleasantly?) surprised when no jets of fire or toxic gas fumes immediately deploy in your area. Instead...
(OOC - Sorry, Virran. An 8 just didn't quite cut it. You were close with the tactics, though - hadn't thought of doing that, so I would have downgraded from a DC 15 to a 10... but an 8...)
@ Swift / all
The tunnel is not quite 5 feet across. It is likely two people could pass without a problem, even walk side-by-side for the most part. However fighting two-abreast would be troublesome, you feel. By the light of your torch, you can clearly see the tunnel proper. It is distinctly man-made, although possibly enlarged from some naturally occurring feature. The walls are roughly carved - not quite smooth, but not jagged or dangerous. The floor is, ultimately, fairly clear of debris besides a few rocks pushed to the side. There is no sign of markings or traps visible besides the one Virran has been studying.
From this distance, the glow is too indistinct to tell anything further besides a faint yellowish glow. From where you stand, it is simply a small source of light far along the tunnel. You can tell, however, that from this point, the tunnel runs in a straight direction.
...Then you hear a sudden - yet faint - metallic clanging as it echoes down the tunnel toward you. At the noise, you can't help but flinch. Then everything returns to silence.
Naivara startles at the noise. Feeling there is something up ahead, she casts ‘Detect Evil and Good’. She would rather know what they are approaching, if it is at all possible to know.
Virran knowing that likely people would be coming moves to the back of the group suggesting the heavily armoured people be in front.
"Might be a good idea for us to back out of the cave so more of us can attack as they come out. Also they will be coming out from the dark into the light which will give as an opportunity to strike as their eyes adjust"

The trap is simple in nature and simple in make. The difficulty lies in not in releasing the wire, but in the unknown effect.
