Furlong surveys his new weapon as an approving smirk inches along his lips.
"BETTER JUDGMENT"
Weapon (spear/quarterstaff), uncommon
A handsome looking walking stick with a shaft made of sturdy mahogany wood that his been whittled into a braided pattern, a handle of steel that has been formed into three spheres, and a steel ferrule that conceals a thin, conical steel spearhead. The spearhead can be extended or retracted by turning the center-most sphere on the cane's handle. Though the item appears top-heavy due to its thick metal handle, because of the concealed metal blade, the cane is actually quite balanced at its center point.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The wielder can use a Bonus Action to extend or retract the spearhead, which changes the weapon from a Quarterstaff +1 to a Spear +1.
Furlong toys with the handle a bit, turning the center sphere clockwise and counter clockwise as the concealed stiletto-shaped blade extends and retracts from the other end of the cane. Then he runs his fingers along with wood shaft, feeling its braided design and quickly finding the weapon's balance point. He rests the long weapon to the tip of one finger for a few seconds, watching it carefully as it mimics his own bodily stillness. Then, in a flash, he tosses the weapon up in the air, catches it, spins it around in series of flourishes, hand over hand, a blue of wood and steel, until he finally thrusts the weapon forward and turns the handle once more, extending the blade as the thrusting attack completes. He smiles again, retracts the blade, and holds the weapon in front of him, ferrule on the floor, handle in hand, like a normal walking stick.
Barnabus shakes his head. "Naw, naw. A... scholar. Ya know, the bookish sort that tend to be on their own? If ya ain't run messages fer those sort then its fine. Just figured I ask." After saying as much, and marking the kid's face in mind for the future, he lingers around only long enough for answer. Then its off to play catch up with some others at Dio's to ask about trinkets that just seem to give good Luck and Goggles for Nightly Pursuits.
"Also, Pops. Ya wouldn't happen to know anyone in the trade that fancy themselves big on making more experimental stuff. Like, uh... I guess the kind of stuff for folk like Kasha that can turn themselves into stuff." He adds on.
Barnabus: The young boy responds to you, saying that he doesn't know of any types like that. You arrive at Dio's shop where he has the items that you're looking for, but isn't able to provide information in regards to what you're searching for. "I'm sorry, but I can't say that I do. That type of thing sounds like something that a particularly powerful druid or someone else that's skilled with nature magic. And I don't really know anyone with those kind of skills. Sorry."

Yvan has notified the others that he didn’t have anything to purchase, weapons or armor wise at the moment, and he broke away for a few minutes to locate a shop where he could purchase Kasha her peanuts. His pocket was now a bit lighter with three large bags of chocolate peanuts in his hands, but as long as Kasha was happy, the price didn’t matter.

You all depart the city for you new manor, with a healthy garrison of masons, smiths, butlers, maids, groundskeepers, and chefs, as well as an acolyte. "Greetings, I ill be accompanying you to the mansion, I'm to re-dedicate the mansion to Mielekki, as well as fulfill any spiritual needs that anyone might have." The journey is once again uneventful and when you reach the manor, you all begin to work on making your new home yours.
(Insert working montage here)
It takes you all several weeks of hard work, but at the end, you've cleaned up all of the corruption and decay that was brought on by Theleus' service to Melkithon. The mansion has been restored to it's former glory(likely under Furlong's instruction), now looking like a place where you would feel proud to call home. The rooms are now filled with comfortable furniture, as well as some works of art. The kitchen is restored to full functionality, and is stocked with silverware and dishes. For your horses, a stable is constructed. Your new mansion is christened with a quick service in the chapel. "Mielekki, we dedicate this household to you, and ask that you smile down upon us as we dwell here."
As you all settle into your new home/headquarters and reflect upon everything that you've done so far before taking a well-deserved rest, you all hit Level 5!

Out of everyone, Barnabus is the only one troubled by the Mielikki acolyte joining their midst. And yet, the only mark of defiance out of the 'boy' is a quiet huff behind all the more excited members of the party in the beginning. For he still did his part in clearing any violent signs of corruption lingering in the area, or at least for a first couple of weeks. Though beyond that, Barnabus is hardly around unless specifically requested, preferring instead to hang around town and entertain the local tavern-goers with tales. Most tales feature of the Misfits past exploits, but almost none make mention of himself. His part in things is ever downplayed as minor actions or sheer dumb luck having a greater influence than intended actions.
If ever consulted about at least his room in the mansion, Barnabus answer is always an ambivalent or evasive. So that, without interference from others, it winds up appearing to be very bare bones. As for the service in the chapel at the end, he avoids it if at all possible. Instead, if not occupied visiting the library, the half-orc stayed in a two-person tent on the most opposite side of the chapel without being in the front yard, taking it easy.
Stella happily pitches in on the mansion renovation, working alongside everyone else. For her room, she makes sure there's a cat corner for Obsidian that has a lovely cat bed, a massive cat tower, and a cat door to the outside. Her part of the room ends up looking like a nicer room at an inn, perhaps, with a large bed, dresser, closet, desk, and squishy chair, but nothing particularly opulent. She also makes sure to check in on everyone, Barnabus included, fairly regularly over the course of those weeks, just to chat.
During the dedication, she goes, despite the fact that isn't a devout follower of the gods. But mostly, Stella enjoys having a stationary home again, and makes sure Obsidian doesn't leave "presents" from his hunts anywhere around the house.
Vastra makes a few contributions of her own to the manor, primarily adding her personal collection of wines to the stock in the kitchen and leaving a few of her books in the library, as she and Alys have begun to go through the work of re-stocking the library's shelves. Her room contains a small shrine to Sehanine Moonbow in the corner, a desk where she can read and study her magic, some comfortable furniture, and a bed with silk sheets. She makes sure to check up on everyone, to see that they're comfortable in their new home, and is admittedly curious as to why Barnabus has chosen to seclude himself in a tent, but doesn't pry the issue. She of course, attends the service to dedicate the house to Mielekki, even though she doesn't particularly pray to her.
Stella: A few days after the dedication, a gentle knocking on your door serves as your personal wake-up call this morning. "Excuse me, Miss Stella." One of the servants says. "But there's someone at the door who is asking if you can be found here. What would you like me to tell this man?"

Stella frowns. "What? Oh, I honestly have no idea who it might be...have them meet me in the sitting room, please? With some breakfast, I'm starved." She quickly gets dressed and heads out to the sitting room, wondering who it might be.
Stella: You head to the sitting room and take a seat. A servant brings you a freshly cooked omelette with a roll and a cup of coffee, before opening the door and allowing the man in. It's your father, Tristan Diamant. He certainly looks different than he did eight years ago, but in some ways he still looks the same. He's wearing green and brown traveling clothes that look well-worn. His hair and beard, both of which have done some growing since the last time you saw him, are both beginning to show some gray. His eyes study you, seeing the woman you've become and what you've done with your life. A smile forms across his face, the one you've seen countless times throughout your childhood.
"Hey there, Stella." He says, taking a seat, unsure of whether you'll allow him to get close enough for a hug or a similar display of affection. "It's been a while."

On the table beside her, Obsidian, who was previously curled up taking a nap, raises his head with a hiss as he senses Stella's turbulent emotions.
Tristan's smile fades. "I had expected that you would react this way to seeing me again. I had heard that you were part of a mercenary band that traveled around helping people. I'm not here because I expect to have a fond reunion, I'm here because I need your help, or more accurately, your mother does. I wouldn't have come to this manor if I had anyone else to turn to, Stella, but I don't and your mother doesn't have the time for me to go looking for another group to rescue her."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Furlong spent the morning briefing the staff on the day's tasks, but upon hearing tell that Stella had a guest, his demeanor immediately shifted from stalwart leader to concerned and nervous. He excuses himself and moves with haste to the sitting room. He peaks his head around the door frame and upon seeing Tristan, the man who deceived him over a decade and betrayed him so many years ago, he begins to roil with rage. But he steadies himself, remembers his espionage training, and falls completely still. He presses his body against the outside wall, just beyond the entrance to the sitting room, so he can listen in and remain unnoticed for the time being. As he hears Tristan's plight, he will monitor the man's voice closely to detect truthfulness and possible ulterior motives.
Stella, Furlong: The two of you have obviously known Tristan for years and would be more familiar with the deceptions and schemes that he's come up with over the years. This genuinely doesn't feel like a con. He does seem like he truly needs your help and you can't find any possible advantage or profit that's in this for him.

Stella grits her teeth and is silent for a long moment before letting out an explosive "Dammit!" She glares furiously at her father. "I will ask my group if they will help with this, for the sake of the others taken captive if no other reason." She rises. "You will stay right here and you damn well better hope I find Furlong and tell him before he finds out you're here on his own, because I don't blame him if he wants to throw some wine - or his fist - into your face." She calls for a servant and (much more kindly), tells them, "Please make sure Mr. Diamant remains in this room until I return."

Long live the PCs of the Past:
Puck of the Shivering Summit -- Tabaxi Bard, College of Lore -- Lyrel's Lost Mines of Phandelver
Alus -- High Elf Cleric of Valkur, Tempest Domain -- Yet Another Storm King's Thunder
Ah'brasar -- Aarakocra Druid, Circle of Wildfire -- Yet Another Storm King's Thunder
Furlong J. Rosewood -- Human Monk, Way of the Open Hand -- The Exploits of Misfit Company
