Odin smiles at the two lads. "Hope you boys have been staying out of trouble."
Tom scowls at Odin. "We're not boys anymore, right Garry?" He walks over to Amonander and takes a sweet. "Think we're just little kids or something? Garry and I have been keeping Solace safe while you all gone."

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
"Glad to see you guys, have you seen my little brother? says Killath to Tom and Garry, he will wait a few seconds and then he will add "What is this all about? Why are you searching for a blue staff? I think that Solace still has a few woodworkers that could make some of those." Somehow Solace has changed and not for good, too many goblins and hobgoblins."
(OOC @DM Since one night passed from our fight with the goblins, I assume that we took a long rest.)
Anomander just chuckles looking at the boys as the one takes the sweets from him "No, you're not children anymore - just remember to take into consideration the time spans of other races. To me you've barely grown any, but you are both right and I'm proud to see what accomplished warriors you've become."
He just scans the area as Killath begins asking his questions "Maybe those are questions for a later time Killath when we aren't in public earshot of others." He just turns his attention to Tom and Gary " Gentlemen sorry about that we are just curious because we ran into a hobgoblin that was carrying authority of the high seeker and using goblins to patrol the woods. Would you be able to shed light on that - it was just a little weird for us to see. If not now maybe later at the tavern?" The fact that he was dancing around certain details would hopefully be clear to his companions, the last thing they needed was to be arrested right as they entered the city.
Mythras looked at Killiath and Anomander urgently.
" Yes, perhaps all of this can be kept til later."
His mind was racing....the four of them now were confirmed as having met the dead hobgoblin and goblins....they had let goblins escape, his own failing, and now the High Seeker would soon know that they had killed his representative.
He turned to the others, whispering, " I feel we should make our stay in Solace brief lest we bring the High Seekers wrath down on all these innocent souls...for he will surely be seeking us."
The old man, white beard in disarray and huffing for breath loudly, almost comically, stops for a second and looks at Darius.
"Ha... Forgotten one you can help me get the table near the fire. Your friends will be there in a day. " He turns to Tika and smiles is most charming smile, " Do you have any room to spare ? My old bones are tired and at my age I need my rest. … You should probably do the same because things are going to get rowdy." Before you can ask questions he starts talking to himself and moving the furniture once more.
The goblin comes back from the kitchen and stops when he sees the old man. He freezes and almost flees out of the doors.
Tom and Garry are taken aback by the direct approach of the companions. They laugh and give each of you an accolade but can't keep from looking back at the man with the dog watching from a few feet away.
"Garry, who was always the more hardened of the two shrugs and answers , " The Seekers are not to be trifled with. They have someone very powerful and dangerous backing them. Be careful of what you say and who you say it too."
He backs away from you and says a bit louder than necessary " Go and see you friends, Otiks will surely be glad to have someone to appreciate his food once more." All around a wave of laughter clears the otherwise heavy air.
The night after:
Tika is busy running around the inn serving drinks and joking with the regulars. Though the town is under the control of the Seekers and one is eating at the back of room the general mood is lighter than usual.
Tika and Darius can't help looking at each other and spy toward the door, anticipating the arrival of their friends.
The old man as confiscated and paid for a large table saying to all that he is waiting for some important people.
Zak has taken the staff and nothing has happened to him. He differently gives the item to Deathys when he asks for it and wraps it in.
"Sorry I was just taking it so it helped, … Hey what happened to you, … you look hurt.... How did you get smoke coming out out of you.... hey! is this magic or something ? "
Over the Kender's chatter a voice speaks in Deathys head, " This item is dangerous. Forces beyond our reckoning are at play. Keep it close for now but don't touch it."
The end of the night is passed burying the bodies, something Zak absolutely wants to do, though he complains all the time. In the morning you are ready to move for the final stretch of the journey.
Arriving at Solace.
Daethys clenches at the staff in his hand. Invisible to all, he looks stunned as the Kender sends the patrol scattering to others duties with his endless questions and chattering. The entrance in Solace wasn't hard but seeing the town under the oversight of an estranged power and the local folks skirting the streets, keeping to shadows takes a moral toll on you.
As you walk up the stairs to the Inn of the Last Home you take a few looks down to the streets and see several patrols of goblins harassing foreigners and locals alike.
Zak seems to take this into stride and runs up the stairs toward the large inn door.
"Come one Deathys , move, the others are probably already here …" Though impatient he waits for the red robed mage.
As you all enter the Inn you can see that it is probably the last place that feels like home in the whole town. People look at you and give you broad smiles. Several even go to you and greet you.
A large table at the end of the room and near the hearth is waiting for you. For some reason it stands empty while all others are crowded.
A lone man his drinking on a side table alone and brooding awhile another, older is smoking a long pipe and talking to some unknown people, engrossed in a tumultuous debate it seems.
(Marked off casting invisibility from the staff...)
Daethys is a bit surprised the kender knows where he is, since he is invisible to all. He looks down at himself to verify he truly is still unseen. With a shrug to the mystery of kenders, Daethys continues up the stairs and into the inn. He stays invisible for now, wishing to watch a bit before doing a big reveal, picturing the looks on whomever is there when he appears out of thin air.
Daethys will move to the empty table and take a seat in one of the chairs, his back to the wall. Only once seated will he let down his invisibility, appearing to have just suddenly appeared in the chair, his staff laying on the ground behind him, the pack, with the crystal staff hidden in it, out of sight near his feet.

Nice
Daethys is a bit surprised the kender knows where he is, since he is invisible to all.
I was under the assumption that you would have told Zak that you are invisible. And since he would have asked a whole lot of questions about that he would have known how to deal with it.
Anomander looked at the boys and nods "Thank you for the advice and wisdom." He just gives a general look to the man with the dogs making sure to mark his features should the man show up again later on. He just smiles patting them both on the shoulders after they impart their advice on the group "Feel free to join us tonight for a drink - first round is on me."
With that he just waves as he begins to walk towards the bar "How about we go catch up with some old friends and some good ale now boys. I think we earned it." His eagerness is clear to get out of there as he begins to just walk not caring if his companions are following. The less time they spend in public the least likely they are to grab the attention of anyone.
Anomander walks through the door smiling as he waves at Tika "When you're free I've got some stories if you have some ale, a warm steak and a hug for a friend." he knew she'd be busy as he entered and didn't want to bother her by interrupting any customers she may be with right now. His smile grows bigger as he spots more friends and begins to move their way, it was good to see some familiar faces. He just sits taking one of the seats that would let his back rest against a wall, propping his bow and quiver within reach should they need it. "Long time friends - how have you both been? "
Mythras ducked as he walked into the inn, looking around at the familiar faces he smiled and went and sat at the large table, taking the weight off his feet.
He nodded to Tika and waved to Daethys, Darius and Zak.
Anomander, Odin, Killiath and Mythras:
Mythras nodded to his companions, " Just hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the arse. Was the Hobbie someone important?"
.....
Moving down the line he waved to Garry, " Ready for an arm wrestling re-match?", he smiled.
Anomander, Odin, Killiath and Mythras:
Odin smiles at the two lads. "Hope you boys have been staying out of trouble."
Tom scowls at Odin. "We're not boys anymore, right Garry?" He walks over to Amonander and takes a sweet. "Think we're just little kids or something? Garry and I have been keeping Solace safe while you all gone."

"You are right Anomander, we can speak about it later at the tavern." replies Killath.
The warrior turns to Mythras and whispers back "We did nothing wrong, Mythras, relax."
Mythras grinned, " I'm not sure the Seekers care much for whether something is right or wrong."
"But we do, Mythras, we do." replies Killath
Anomander, Odin, Killiath and Mythras:
Odin nods as he continues toward the Inn. "We will cross the bridge when we get there."

The group as finally come together.
