Wil puts out a hand as the lit stone clatters to the ground on the ledge. "Did anyone else hear that? It sounded like a 'creak-forward' followed by a 'creak-back' after the stone landed, amid the silence...Couldn't tell where it was coming from though."
Tyrros grunts and lights up another stone. " Didn't hear anything. You sure?" Taking care to listen for the noise, Tyrros throws the second stone up over the ledge.
Narion watched the others while they were trying to figure out what they heard. "Do you think there is something down there?", he asked, his voice a whisper.

“Something is definitely moving around up there I’d rather have at least some idea rather than leave to chance but we are strapped for time.......sigh well shit!”
Wil makes his way quietly to the stairs leading up to the ledge and checks them for any triggers or traps and if none are found very slow crawls his way up them to see the ledge above.

after not finding anything on the stairs he curse quietly and whispers a little tune:
[I'm going to give you back your Bardic Inspiration die; you can't use it on yourself, per the mechanics, despite your awesome little tune. I looked it up on RPG stack exchange so I don't seem like an evil DM, here is the reasoning:
Allowing a bard to inspire himself is giving him a close variation on the level 14 ability of the Lore bard (Peerless Skill). The timing is a bit weaker, but the bard would be able to use the die on attack rolls and saving throws, so it's more versatile. One could even argue that it's strictly better. Giving a level 2 bard an ability that's only available to one specialization of a level 14 bard, while not necessarily game-breaking, is probably not a good idea.
So you have that use back, to give to someone else. However, you did step on the stairs so...]
Wil sets a foot upon the first stair and the creaking becomes apparent to all as two skeletons lurch into action from behind the column. They start down the short stairway, one behind the other, towards Wil, who blocks the stairs from those behind him. Roll Initiative!

Narion would drop his torch and try to position himself between the attackers and the rest of the group. He then would swing his battleaxe at the nearest sekleton. Attack: 12 Damage: 4

Texas will move to where the skeletons are within 60 feet of him and where he is not in imideat melee range. Once in position he will weave his hands through the air and say, "Anyone feeling a little chilly?" And a beam of blue-white light streaks towards the skeleton that Narion tried to attack.
The frosty beam lances over the heroes' heads to strike the lead skeleton, covering it in a frosty rime. In return it strikes a vital blow at Narion with its scimitar [10 slashing damage].
The second skeleton cannot pass the first, so it circles around the column, leaps from the edge to assault Wil, shoving its scimitar into his ribs [8 slashing damage]. Blood pours from both heroes' wounds.
In blinding amount of pain and close to dropping unconscious Wil panics and focuses on the skeletal figure in front of him beginning to whisper his incantation as the whispers grow louder and louder!

This time, Tyrros hears it as well. It's possible that something creaked from behind the pillar up on the ledge.
"I don't hear anything... What are you hearing?" Texas strains his hears trying to hear the sound they are talking about.

Narion is thrown off balance as he shoulders past Wil to block the stairs and his swipe just misses the skeleton.
