I tried to cast it on the ones in the front line at the moment. Also the aid spell increases the characters HP max increases by 5 for 8 hrs so it's not just 5 temp
In the interest of keeping combat rolling, I'll be testing a sort of group initiative. Everyone rolls, then I take the average of the PCs and compare it to the average of NPCs, higher average determines which group goes first. When it is the PCs turn you can post your action as soon as you know it, but I will resolve them in order based on your original roll. So if De'ran and Thorin both say they're going to attack a spider and De'ran kills it, Thorin's attack will either move to a different spider or I will check in and see what he'd like to do differently. Let me know if you have questions or would like clarification.
You can have conversations "out of order" in combat and coordinate things, just try and keep them realistically brief for a round of talking.
Turn order:
De'ran
Thorin
Harbek
Garick
Aerin
Sparks
Ettercap
Faerie Dragons
Spiders
Five spiders are lowering themselves down toward you, each is roughly 20 feet above you and 10 feet from the ceiling. The ettercap is on the wall above the cave mouth, about 10 feet above the ground. The blue faerie dragon is just shaking free of the webbing and the red ones are still fully restrained.
Using Combat Wild Shape in bonus action, De'ran lets out a guttural scream and shifts into a Giant Spider and immediately runs up the wall towards the ettercap and will use Bite
Harbek moves to put himself between the dragons and where the spiders are dropping. Then smacks his gauntleted fist against his Armored chest and shouts “Rumnaheim!!!”
He’ll wait there with his halberd for something to get close enough for him to strike.
Aerin will bonus action cast Hex on any monster currently engaged with someone else, then cast Green-Flame Blade on it. If none are in range of Aerin by dangling or otherwise he will hold Green-Flame Blade for when anything comes in range.
Garick takes out his rapier and moves up next to Harbek and throws Faerie Fire at the dragons. DC 14 Dexterity.
Just wanted to ask, why at the dragons? most are tied up in webs still, and Sparks is hoping the one that is released is on our side... Not sure about that yet, so we'll have to see.
Is more of a precaution than anything else. Everyone seemed to have to others covered didn't want Harbek alone in case they attacked him and if its only us then having advantage on attacks would be nice. If they proof friendly then I stop concentrating.

(Makes sense, was more curious than anything. thanks for the explanation.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
De'ran shifts into the form of a giant spider, very similar to those crashing down on you all from the ceiling above but distinct in coloration. Leaping onto the wall toward the ettercap he bites, but the ettercap dodges out of the way, clacking his own fanged mandibles at Spider-De'ran.
Thorin takes the opportunity to send a guiding bolt of radiant energy at the creature, catching it full in the chest. The radiance clings to it's bulbous purple form like a beacon.
Harbek maneuvers himself between the spiders and the wall of restrained dragons. Just as one of the spiders drops into range he calls lets loose a battle cry and stabs upward with is pike in a vicious jab, catching the spider in it's soft underside. A burst of divine energy blasts out from his pike, exploding the spider from within. Harbek dodges to the side as ichor and spider limbs rain down from below.
Garick rushes to Harbek's side, narrowly avoiding the falling spider carcass, and draws his rapier. Singing softly he casts faerie fire, bathing the small dragons in shimmering light. The light clings to the red dragons, who can't avoid it, but the blue dragon attempts to dodge out of the way (Dex Save, 6)
Aeirn sees spiders dropping down from the ceiling and targets one descending between himself and Thorin, hexing the spider and lashing out with his longsword. The sword, already bathed in light takes on a greener glow of magical flame as it slices into the spider's side. The green flame blade arcs off and slams into another spider dropping down beside the first. (Aerin, roll another 1d6 for hex damage)
Sparks finishes cutting the blue dragon free and turns to see the comotion behind, casting mirror image. Suddenly he splits and there are four Sparks where once there was one.
The Ettercap lashes out at Spider-De'ran, first attempting to Bite: 19 Damage: 7 (If hit, DC11 Con save or be poisoned then lashing out with his Claws : 15 Damage: 6.
The blue faerie dragon shakes off the last of the webbing and flits into the air just as a spider lands near the dragons and Sparks. The dragon lets loose a breath of rainbow colored gas toward toward the spider (spider save 3). The dragon then attempts to turn invisible but the scintillating light of Garick's faerie fire) spell leaves him clearly visible. "I am a shining star! A radiant beacon! A lantern drawing all kinds of creepy crawlies toward me in the dark! I would rather I weren't..."the dragon sings, a bit of mania creeping into his voice.
Spider 1 plops to the ground around Harbek and Garick in many gloopy pieces, clearly dead.
Spider 2 slides down between Thorin and Aerin, taking a slash from Aerin's magically enhanced sword and bites out at Aerin. Bite: 17 Damage: 11. If the attack hits, DC 11 Con save or take 12 poison damage or half as much on a save.
Spider 3 takes a blast of fire in it's side from Aerin's attack and jumps back away from them (Thorin and Aeirn can take opportunity attacks) skittering out of range before flinging a mass of webbing toward Aerin. Web: 24. If the attack hits you are restrained and you can use an action to make a DC 12 Strength Check to escape.
Spider 4 sees its fellow spider obliterated by Harbek and stops its descent, flinging webbing down toward Harbek. Web: 21. If the attack hits you are restrained and you can use an action to make a DC 12 Strength Check to escape.
Spider 5 lowers itself down next to Sparks and the faerie dragon, avoiding the gaseous breath of the faerie dragon and attempting to bite at one of the many forms of Sparks. (Sparks, roll a d20 in accordance with mirror image) If the attack hits you, Bite: 21 Damage: 8. If the attack hits, DC 11 Con save or take 10 poison damage or half as much on a save.
Everyone take your turns again! Whoever attacks the ettercap next (in initiative order) has advantage on the attack.
