You step out into dark muddy streets walking with purpose through the chilly morning. The mists seemingly clinging to your bodies as you push your way to the docks. A dense wall of fog backdrops boats docked at a rickety maze of wood and ropes. A few shapes move amongst the docks and several smaller dinghies and rowboats hold fishermen.
The tall, familiar figure of your scaled informant stands illuminated by lantern light hanging off the back of a ship. He appears to be in animated conversation with a Beld. He notices your approach and turns to your approach. “Hail, come let me introduce you to Tor businessman” Gerb swings his long neck ahead of his body turning to the figure behind him.
Stepping into a new light, a 5’ 6” Beld with dark blue skin. He wears a fur hat that rises to a small point on the top of his head and a long, black, ponytail braided with bones and baubles, flows from underneath.
A well oiled leather coat, studded with animal teeth, rests overtop a simple cotton shirt. While tight brown trousers and a scimitar adorn his waist. His face bears a scar that turns his lip into a slight, but permanent scowl. A baritone voice with a slight rasp echoes out into the fog:
"Yes. If you have any complaints, you should have done the hiring yourself." Yseth begins walking forward towards the ship, pas the Beld man. The displeasure in his voice is notable.
Ashild walks up with Yseth. She whispers in his his ear, "Ignore people like him, just prove him wrong instead." She then continues to walk ahead very confidently.
"Hiring?" his voice carries slight confusion along with his displeasure. "No. YOU are paying me. 30 gold a head for transport to Blintweir. I know the Kesh Bars better than anyone here and no fishermanwould dare traverse near the knife. Pay up, get in the boat and sit quiet. or you can swim to Blintweir"
“No objections here.” Wu palms the beld 30 gold and waits for her teammates to follow. Wu then looks through the fog and tries to see if the weather seems calm.

Ashild walks up to him with 30 gold. "I'm interested to see how good a sailor you are if you are willing to get anywhere near the knife." She gets on the ship and begins looking around at the quality of the ship
Mayaries looks into the ocean and zones out while debating if he could swim the distance to Blintweir. He shakes his head, and hands 9 gold to the sailor. He goes to walk away, and feels his sheepskin coin purse again. "Oh, my bad" He pouts and looks down to his purse, and digs out 21 more gold pieces.
"So- what's the gal's name?" Mayaries asks, hitting the edge of the boat with a hearty slap. He stands on one leg, crossing his ankles.
As Mayaries leans uncomfortably far off the dock to touch the tall wooden back of the two masted Junk Ship (example:https://imgur.com/a/pqP6DbL). Catching the bags and pouches being thrown and tossed at him, a smile bursts its way past the scar on the tor’s face. He answers “That is me ‘Mal, is the vessel of your deliverance across the Kesh: Ahn Vedyiro Bala. But the crew and I call ‘er the Bala.” He moves swiftly to outpace the group as they approach the wooden dock off of the main pier striding up a ribbed wooden plank with steplike inserts. Gerb steps among to you** as the Beld turns and faces you blocking the ramp entryway little more than halfway up. Now standing a few feet above you on the deck, he addresses the four of you with simple and transactional tone:
“I’m quite sure you are all capable out there doing the things you do. But understand this is My ship, what I say goes. These men, they listen to me. You will address me as ‘Captain Swells’ or ‘Captain’ in front of my men. I run a tight ship and they listen, don’t disturb our peace.” Gesturing to you he continues “Paying guests on the ship are treated well, and my crew won’t bother you unless you see too it to make yourself botherable. Ker’Daj will lead you to your quarters. We should have smooth sailing for the first day or two. Any questions?”
**Passive Perception: Greater or equal to 14
Gerb nervously trails behind wringing his hands a bit but is visibly failing to hide it.
"Captain? Which path are we taking may I ask?" Ashild chimes in. "My parents were merchants and back in my childhood I taught myself cartography to help them navigate. I was just curious which path we are taking to avoid the knife." Ashild for what might have been the first time that day shows no hint of sarcasm or sass but of genuine curiosity. After asking the question she happens to look back at Gerb, then quickly looks back toward Captain Swells
"There is a route East 'ole pointy, if we are lucky you'll never even see it on the horizon." He looks mildly amused but continues "Any more questions? If not, climb aboard and get out of the crew's way so we can set sail immediately. Without any complications it'll be a 6 day journey. I recommend you buckle down your gear if you can. The waters will be rough in a few hours."
Yseth turns back to the captain. "Yeah, bit of an odd one, but what's the food like on this ship? I uh... for reason's I can't get into, I can't eat any seafood."
Wu turns to Yseth, “if only seafood is available for the duration of this journey, you can have my pre bought rations. Personally I’m not very fond of seafood but it’s not something I’ll abstain from. Protein is always important for a balanced diet.”

Mayaries listens to his crew and boards the Bala. Once on, he looks around. He searches for any glass on board, in bottles, jars, eyes, etc., to get a better judgement of what he should think of the state and past locations of the ship, assuming Mayaries would know the location of any rival glass bloweries.
Captain Swells chuckles heartily to Yseth “Don’t worry, we are not a fishing vessel. We have other food. Though I find it strange and quite hilarious, I will not pry to your reasoning. Climb aboard, we leave port while the waters are calm” He turns and begins speaking out loud orders towards his crew walking onto the deck. As you each climb aboard you see the deck is fairly crowded with sailors, and a skinny young Beld meets you immediately. His mouth opens to reveal tusks and an eager voice “Please come this way.” He leads you to to a trapdoor towards the aft of the ship. Descending into a simple layout of a hall and dividing walls the four of you are brought into a small chamber with a cloth covering entrance there are two pairs of hammocks tightly packed on either side of the room and furs line the walls and elevated floor. The Beld folds his hands in front of his waist, bows, and exits down the hall.
Mayaries you spend some time and see some generic bottles in the quarters you passed. you recognize the standard green tint of a Waersh bottle holding cheap wine, common in the regions near the Capital. Their family has a large business due to high demand but in your father's opinion have long lost their artist's touch.
You are left to your own devices for presumably the next several days. What would you like to do this first day and any following while the ship journeys?
Ashild in no particular rush starts strapping down her gear by one of the hammocks, keeping the 2 shortswords strapped to her waist but taking her bow off her back. If anyone else from the crew comes down Ashild will offer to help and will mention her previous sailing experience. Otherwise she will lie down and rest her eyes unless talked too
Mayaries claims a top hammock, keeping his pack on a small ledge next to it. He will keep his weapons on him or within an arm's reach. Over the next several days, Mayaries will spend his free time practicing lighting his greatsword on fire and swinging it in private areas (if he can find any), and getting to know the crew members. His topics of conversation include intense combat, glassware, and homeland/family.
Yseth tries to keep occupied, sharpening his axe below deck, playing his dulcimer for a bit; he tries to see if anyone is playing cards or something of that nature. He fiddles around with the water around the boat using the Shape Water cantrip. He simply tries to keep himself occupied and distract himself from the mounting anxiety of the coming hunt.
