You find yourselves in a dimly lit hallway. One end is utter black shadow, and seems to go on, unending. The other direction you can see carved stone steps that lead down, and to a door. Light shines through the cracks in the slats of wood, against the ground and above the door.
"Looks like down it is..." Leon says as the Githyanki adjusts his grip on his sword hilt, the weapon still sheathed, but ready to be drawn in an instant. With his other hand he runs his fingers through his reddish-brown hair as he glances to the rest of you. Leon stands at 6 feet tall, but is thin and wiry, not at all the picture of a warrior, though he clearly has strength to him even so. His skin is yellowish, and he has steady storm-gray eyes. He wears a set of chain mail armor, with a pack and shield. There are two hand axes sheathed across his chest. His voice is low, but soft and calm as he looks to the rest of you.
Marius looks both ways and grunts a non-committal grunt, clearly waiting for someone else to make the first move. The old seasoned human is average height and build. The skin of his face is tanned and sports many small scars as record of his outdoorsy nature. His long, tangled, blond hair and beard are pulled into bunches. He wears armor made of overlapping brown and tan carapaces. One arm has a wooden shield attached and the other holds onto a sturdy-looking, nondescript staff. Burned onto the face of the shield and the carapace over his heart and carved into the back of his staff hand is a symbol of a tree within a crescent. "I do prefer the light to the darkness in these types of circumstances."

Vazak looms over the rest of the group, standing almost eight feet tall. The goliath stretches his wide-set shoulders back, massive muscles rippling under his stony-grey skin, which is broken up by sharp crimson markings. He strides down the stairs, a massive greatsword slung over his back clanging against his scale armor as he does. "Well, let's get on with it," he says to the group in a deep booming voice, and makes to push open the door.
Not sure if the perception check was for everyone or just for Marius, will do one just in case: 21
Vazak arcs an eyebrow as he notices the arrow, nodding towards it to bring it to the rest of the party's attention. He continues towards the door, listening carefully and reaching back to grip the hilt of his greatsword as he does. He looks back to the party before proceeding, and then goes to open the door.
"Let's just get it over with..." Leon says with a glance to the others, nodding for the giant-kin to open the door for them. There is a shiver of steel in the air as Leon draws forth his long sword, ready for anything that may come at them when the door opens. His voice remains calm and soft, confident of his abilities.
You hear a low screeching noise repeatedly as the dwarf next to you sharpens his axe with a stone. (Blessing of the forge making the axe a magical +1 weapon) He is wearing metal from neck down, and a trained eye would notice that its crafted with a care for detail, as small symbols are decorating all pieces, making it all a beautiful work. The armor is shining, and looks like its never been scratched. The dwarf clearly takes good care of his equipment. The dwarven blacksmith inspects his party closely, taking extra notice to the craftmanship of their armor and weapons. He looks at the human with the wooden shield with a curious face, shake his head disaprovingly and continue down the stairs, axe and shield in hand. Perception: 21
The door scrapes refuse out of its path, the room is dark and smells like a pet store. The floor is all wood chips, and warm poop. The room is dark, and the sound of the door moving startles what sounds to be bats to an opposite corner.

You see an arrow pointing to the door, painted or smeared on the wall.
Also, with such a high roll, you can hear a small bit of scratching, and small faint flaps, muffled by the distance and the door blocking the path.
The door is not locked, or trapped.
Proceeding inside?
