Careful now -- I hear this knife might be poisoned!" he says as he hacks at the net. (19 for 5 damage) "Are we stickin' around to fight all the fishheads or can we run away now?"

Stepping forward into the slimy room and righting himself right-way-up, Peri succeeds in hacking through Gerrard's net with the poisoned knife. The net drops to the ground, destroyed.
The kuo-toa surge forward, as more enter the room. One races up to Boko, grabs a net, and flings it at her. Another flings one at her from afar.

None find their mark. Two of the sleeping kuo-toa take [roll]2d6[/roll] fire damage from the flaming orb.
”Thanks for the assist, Master Fenwader,” says Gerrard, adding, “Unfortunately these Kuo-Toa are in thrall to an ancient evil and must be eliminated for the safety of the populace,” as he spins into action with flashing blades.
Gerrard is attacking the foes to his north and trying to work his way into a choke point between the pools (north of Boko), stepping forward and continuing to attack as a given foe falls before him. He will also prepare to parry any attack that might land against him in melee.
Update: Hmph. The addition of the last lines set off the manipulation banner and rerolled everything. Summary of what went down: The old woman made both her save vs. Hold Person to free herself, and the save vs. flaming sphere resulting in only minor damage. She is in bad shape, but free and alive.
"Damn it!" He spits his frustration at the fact the old woman has escaped his magical hold. "You maybe broken free you wretch, but I don't think you'll be getting very far!" Weaving his hands in an intricate manner he slows the movements right down just as a shimmering force speeds across the room and visibly strikes the three closest Kua-Toa, the old woman and the two Kua-Toa standing near the Flaming Sphere.

He's not gonna leave until this assassin goes down, is he? he thinks. He scales the wall behind him to get a clear view of the woman, then points and mutters a fey curse of clumsiness (disadvantage on DEX checks) on her. He follows up with a blast of purple energy (22 for 10 force + 5 necrotic) and drops back down to shelter behind Gerrard again.
