(Sorry, didn't know what to do so I stewed on it for a bit...) Jardor listens in the still night to the cackles of the scavengers. Are they getting closer? It is hard to tell. Perhaps they are raiding the other village tonight because this one proved to be too tough of a nut to crack.
I suppose I should wake someone, and we can decide what to do...
Having come to trust Gara after their experience with the snakes, Jardor quietly makes his way over to where the tortle is resting and shakes his shell slightly.
"Stay quiet...I don't want to wake the others unnecessarily. I hear scavengers, but they sound a ways off. I don't know if they are coming this way."

Gara listens to the night. After a moment he whispers: "They sound far away, i don't think there is anything we can do right now. The pack is to big to face them in open battle. And even if we could get there, we would leave this village without protection. When the light is up we will go there and help as much as we can. Go to sleep, i will take over guard. "
Gara will take over and listen to the far away cries. From time to time he will shoot a glowing stone in the nightsky to show refugees where they can run to. When his shift is over, he will wake the next person and inform him about the battle and to keep an eye open for refugees.
(OK, since every other character is asleep, we will move on)
You listen to the sounds of fighting for the throughout the night. After a while you hear see a couple of flashes in the west. Half a minute later echoes of thunder reach you. After this the sounds of fighting resume.
Closer to dawn you are momentarily confused as a bright light appears in the west as if the sun decided to rise on the wrong side. The light dims and over the next couple of minutes completely vanishes. The sounds of fighting stop.
"Hmm, I agree Gara. I am happy to hear that the village gave a fight though. Let's hope that they have not wiped themselves out though. Let's do that way when we are all awake," Serit says as he too tries to think of what could have caused such a situation.
Can Nasaar guess at what happened out there going by descriptions or anything he saw once woken up? If so, what sort of roll do you want?
Going by the descriptions alone and given the distance, it would be hard for you to guess anything beyond "some magic, maybe" (which you can do without rolling).
Once you get closer to the site, you can roll Arcana.
Since the flash of light was seen by the goblin sentries, the news about this quickly circulates the while village. The goblins surround you all and shower you with questions:
"We won't know the answers to any of that until we check it out." Nasaar barks at them with a glare of reprimand. "Be patient and wait till we can find out for ourselves, then we will let you know what you need to know."
Gara asks two of the Goblins to help him prepare the two constrictor snakes and the eggs for breakfast for the village. Just to be sure he takes some extra time and performs a ritual to purify food and drink.
Once breakfast is ready, he invites the Goblin chief to eat with them and talk what to do next.
“ What do we need to do today? We need to keep improving our defence here. Now that your people the goblins had enough to eat for two days, we should start training them. And we need to check out the other village and help them. I think Nassar should stay here and keep on improving our defence. Since i got a litle bit of arcane knowledge i will go and investigate the other village. I may also be able to provide a bit of healing over there. But i will need some security And maybe someone who knows the way and knows the other village, so that we don‘t scare them? This forrest is not the safest place to travel. Who would come with me? The idea is to be back here in the eavening, to defend here. „
Gara asks two of the Goblins to help him prepare the two constrictor snakes and the eggs for breakfast for the village.
(I don't remember the goblins having any eggs in the village.)
The eldest Goblin responds:
"What are you saying? Of course we need to need to check the large village. Before the recent events, it had at least triple the population of our settlement, probably more with the refugees. If it is ruined then we may never be able to recover. Whatever happened there, you need to help them. The beasts have clearly switched their attention to them. Don't mind us, even a few of the scavengers tried to raid us again, we'll be sit it out in the basement for a night or two".
(I think Gara is referring to the snake eggs, we found 5)
Eating his breakfast, Jardor joins the conversation. "I think we should all head to the larger village. It is possible that we won't be able to make it back before night fall, or they may be in such a state that we will need to stay there and help defend them. The goblins have a start now, and some of them seem less hopeless than before. Slightly less. Let's set out now to get to the village as soon as possible and see what there is to see. Once we are there we can make a decision for what is best to do next."

If Gara is still on watch during the bright 'explosion', he will wake up Serit and Nasar, because they also got a litle bit arcane knowledge.
Yes, it is Gara's watch. Go ahead.
„I think we need to check out in the morning what happened there. What ever it was, it looks way to big for a simple Goblin village.“

(Will edit with rolls would be appropriate)

Gara listens to the chief while thinking about an other plane of existence..
Bhur, I think you are in the wrong thread...
