Dagomar decides that the team is in as good an ambush position as they are likely to get in at this late minute and prepares his best goblin imitation. "Azzakak! Zuzluz! Everybody! Get out here, there is another even biggerer wagon! Treasure for Klarg! Hurry!!!"
You yell at the goblins trying to convince them you're also one of them, but they easily hear through your con. Instead of intrigue, you hear angry yelling and insults that your underdark accent is so clear that it hurts your eyes on a sunny day.
Aquila saw this coming and has only survived to her ripe old age of 6 as ranger by being aware of oncoming fights, and moving first
Notes from the DM:
You are currently in a small clearing after following the trail through the woods where you see a small stream that is exiting a cliff face and has a thick line of brush on the other side of the stream. You know there are at least 3 goblins over there based on noises made and how you were able to eavesdrop on their talk. The reason you cannot tell exactly how many are over there is because the thicket is so thick you cannot see through it and would probably be difficult to try to walk through. Because of this thicket, you are not sure where they are beyond it. Something akin to this
As you fly up and over the thicket you see that there's a sizable clearing of rough chopped foliage and some wooden boards to keep them from growing back. The now confirmed three goblins are there hurling insults from this blind where they were most likely suppose to be keeping an eye out for wanderers, but being goblins they were more occupied by doing anything besides work. It is much closer than 50' and you can land, but it will be tight. You still have actions.
DM Note: A grapple is a contested Athletics vs the opponent's Athletics or Acrobatics (their pick). Subtracting 2 from your roll to accommodate the different Attribute. But they rolled a 10...
Aquila grabs the one goblin that's slightly off to the side and hoists it into the air like a rabbit that was too slow. It shrieks in confusion and starts wiggling about to no avail under her talons as she carries it 15 feet off the ground.
Dagomar can't see what is going on, but smiles when he hears talons squish into goblin meat. He casts the mold earth cantrip to raise some of the clay at the rivers edge into a 5' mound in front of himself to get some cover and concealment, waving Fosco over.
The squealch is loud as Sazira forcibly connects with the goblin and beheads him. She gives a loud, mostly unintelligible, cry. She was taken back to her days on the battle field, and feels disappointed when no one echoes the victory yell. Getting over her disappointment quickly, she looks up at Aquilla, and wonders what her plan is.
Aquila flies toward Dagomar and Fosco with the Goblin firmly grasped in her talons. She quickly drops toward the stream, shoving the Goblin's head into the shallow water, and calls out to Dagomar: "Ask him what's happened to Sildar Hallwinter!" After shrieking her request, she flies directly up with the Goblin still in tow, hovering 20ft(ish) off the ground.
Unexpecting the drop, the goblin in Aquila's talons plunges face first into the water and breathes in a large gurgle. Coughing as it gets hoisted back up it focuses enough to tell you what little it knows.
It yells in Common, "The tin can is in the cave! He was grabbed and in the Eating Cave, the dwarf was taken the castle!" As it tries and fails to wriggle out.
Dagomar makes the translation into Goblin "The birdy wants to know where Sildar is. She has been looking for him all day and is very tired. Tired birdies drop things, I would tell quick! Maybe she put you down someplace nice."

No one is surprised or caught off guard.

Aquila takes to the sky. Her goal to either take the enemy through air supremacy or land on the far side of the thicket and attack from behind.
DM: If the far side of the thicket is less than 50 ft from our starting position, Aquila would land there.
Aquila soars over the three goblins, trying to spot weapons and routes of escape.
DM: "you can clearly see no real escape routes and no weaponry besides their short bows."
Aquila swoops down towards the three goblins, inverting her flight at the last second and extending her talons to snag the lone goblin on the left.
Dexterity: 23

The second goblin is startled seeing its fellow tribe member getting lifted off and fires a shot up at the bird-thing who took them.

Sazira approaches the goblin left out in the open (my walking speed is 30 feet, and I can get to it in 30, assuming each square is 5ft).
Sazira raises her double bladed scimitar and swings at the goblin Attack: 14 Damage: 5

Dagomar makes the translation into Goblin "The birdy wants to know where Sildar is. She has been looking for him all day and is very tired. Tired birdies drop things, I would tell quick! Maybe she put you down someplace nice."
Dagomar then splashes as quietly as he can in the stream and moves toward the remaining goblin in the bush until he has a clear path to cast Ice Knife
