((There is a banking system in Talaveroth, and money left in one branch can be withdrawn at another, thanks to magical communications and security. However, you will only find large branches of the bank in large cities in the Westwoods.  Prosperous farming communities may have a bank as well, but are unlikely to be able to deal with very large sums (such as over 1000gp.) Non-cash items stored with a bank incur a small fee, but can't be deposited in one branch and picked up at another.))

((Each sugar loaf is a solid 5lb conical rock of sugar. Marita tells you that sugar is selling at retail for about 3gp per pound, though you are unlikely to get that much unless you want to do the legwork yourself and sell it in bits to many different customers. If you choose to sell it directly to a merchant she knows, you get a quote of 1g5s per pound and get the money right away.. If you want to sell it through a broker, you can probably get around 2gp per pound, but it will be delayed and banked for you.))

((And, yes, stabling is also half-price, so you can take one of your silvers back if you spent two. ^^ )

"I don't think we have time to do the leg-work on this."  Raven says with a sigh.  "Shall we take the 1.5 GP per loaf and go with it, or should we go ahead and try to work with a broker for 2 GP?"  She asks the group.   "Also, how many do we wish to hold out to give for that investment option we were discussing?"

I was hoping we would sell it wholesale not retail, so as not to anger the usual merchants. And give them a discount (compared to currently inflated prices) with the agreement that they pass on savings to customers, so that we relieve the crisis a tiny bit. I was thinking "hero" and "money-hoarding sugar baron" were not compatible. So sell 300 lbs for 350 gp, and get someone to send 100 lbs to the Naicas?

"Seems fair."

"Sell 300 pounds for 450 GP and send 100 pounds for our investment."  Raven points out.  "Seems fine to me."

(Yep, Raven feels the 1.5 is a discount and will be more than enough to reduce hardship, at least as far as she is concerned.)

(( OOC: Elwin wouldn't really concern himself with the specific amount... in fact, unless he had a serious problem with a financial proposal, or just saw something clearly good and wanted to acknowledge approval, he'd probably try to avoid disputes over the amount. ))

Del asks Marita who we should talk to about the sale, and sends a message to meet at the police station if they want a deal on several hundredweight of recovered sugar (that ought to attract attention)

Acknowledging Raven's concerns on value I will do my best. Other than clothes, my shopping is pretty generic. How about I go to the police station (it's at Hickory, correct?) and meet with the merchants. Lord Quentin and Brother Elwin, if you come along we can get our threads either before or after, depending on how long it takes them to arrive

You find the police department, and a bored desk sergeant has you sign some parchments before handing over the cases of sugar. It all seems to be there.

Marita suggests the food merchant who supplies her tavern, and the message is sent.  You see him outside the police station, a one-eyed elf called Falcon, with a tattoo on his face of (go figure) a falcon.

Raven would accompany those going to the meeting about the sugar sale.

"I don't have as big of an investment in this as everyone else so please, feel free to make the deals." Quentin tells the others, content to let them shine. 

Mindartis goes out to purchase everything the party had requested for him to pick up.

Elwin accompanies Quentin and Del, somewhat eager to try out upper-class clothing.
