-Name - C14-5H3R -Race - Warforged -Class - Artificer (Battle Smith) -Short backstory of the kind of adventures your character has been on (with or without the current party): C14-5H3R is an interesting specimen. It appears to have been built to perform guard duties. Based on the detail that it speaks fluent Gnomish, we have assumed that its creators was some heretofore unknown predecessor of the Gnome race.
Long after it was abandoned by its creators it began to take on a life of its own. We are not sure where its motivations come from, or if it is really alive, but it is a powerful ally on the battle field and has proven itself time and again.
Along with a mechanical companion of its own that C14 calls D-06, it strides bravely into the thick of combat. It appears to have an innate understanding of the machinations of magical devices, able to construct a whole array of such devices from mundane parts. Many of these are unstable and release a single magical effect before becoming inert. But others it has integrated directly into its body to redouble its already fortified capabilities.
It also appears to be able to cause an electrical or sonic discharge seemingly at will. Additional research is required regarding this ability.
During C14's time with the team I have observed it act with loyalty, honor, and friendship. I do not believe it is capable of emotions the way we understand them, but it does appear to have an idea of social constructs and the benefit of maintaining them. It is not uncommon for the unit to place its own well being or even continued existence in danger to prevent injury to another member of the team.
It appears to have completed all of its repairs now and unlocked its full potential. It will be fascinating to see what it is capable of doing now that it is not hindered by the centuries of rust and decay that it was found in.

*Apologies to anyone that finds 1337 (Leet) speak horendous. C14 will not speak in leet speak during the game, but I have always liked referring to warforged using it as it gives a kind of C3PO/R2D2 feel to their name. For example in Pathfinder I had a character called T1/63R (Tiger). He was a warforged druid that would wildshape into...you guessed it...a tiger.
If you are not fluent in 1337, C14-5H3R translates to Clasher. I intend to call it C14 throughout the game, but it will also respond to Clash or Clasher or its full model number.
And yes, D-06 does translate into Dog...original, I know.

I've been going back and forth with myself on this but now that I know how rolling is meant to be done I'd like to put my hat back in the ring. Been playing for years but never get to try tier 4. Possibly a druid. We seem to have a surplus of gishes and wizards.
Ability scores: 1491612913
Edit: Lol. Playable at least. I'll edit in a sheet later.
Edit 2: I'll finish up in a few hours when I get to work. For now, expect Tassarath, a yuan-ti pureblood druid of the moon. I'm gonna chew on his backstory and where the other submissions have been leaning before I post a 'finished' copy.

Tentative Backstory:
True heros must not only defeat evil, but redeem souls as well. The tales are many of a valiant warrior turning a dangerous enemy into a powerful ally.
Tassarath is one such enemy, now one such ally.
Tassarath, like all yuan-ti, are raised to worship power. To seek apotheosis and dominion over others. However, he felt his people were too reckless, needlessly discriminate in their ways. The yuan-ti were holding themselves back with their inefficient and wasteful power struggles.
What was the point of being Emperor if all you ruled were corpses and ashes?
He instead sought advice, and assistance, from a hag. He gained an understanding and appreciation of the ways of the woods and winds. He learned how to draw on the power of something much older than his people have ever lived. In exchange, the hag took his ability to naturally procreate. For as much power as he hoped to gain, his legacy would ultimately fade to dust.
When the heros were sent to investigate rumors of a lone, spellcasting snake man lurking a little too close to a village, they found an intelligent, well-spoken Tassarath who was happy to make a deal.
Tassarath would say that he bends nature to his will, but the truth of it is more complicated. He protects the natural order in the same way an oil baron might protect his wells - a resource to be both exploited and guarded.
In the party, Tassarath considers himself the most grounded. He sees most of the party as bright candles, burning beautifully but soon to be snuffed out by their reckless passions or the passage of time.
For now, though, he enjoys their company, in his own peculiar way.
Name: Herman Ivanov Race: Variant Human Class: Ranger 11 (Hunter)/Rogue 7 (Thief)/Fighter 2
Backstory: Herman started his adult life following his father's footsteps by becoming a soldier for the village militia. His dreams of becoming the valiant heroic soldier fighting for the good of his people and his home quickly shattered when reality of what the military of his land was like hit him. He was skilled in what he did but he was constantly being yelled at and punished by his higher ups. Regardless, he worked his way up to the King's special squad of soldiers who would protect the kingdom from the forces of the underdark. The incident that finally led to Herman being forced to leave the military and his home was when his squad was ordered by their commander to fight a powerful fiend. Herman ran and so did the commander who ordered the attack. The rest were killed in the battle. Herman was soon blamed for this crushing defeat and was exiled while the commander became a tragic hero figure. From then on Herman had been traveling the lands and doing jobs to get by. One such mercenary work led to him teaming up with the party. It has been some time now and he is still adventuring with the party. During that time, he has exhibited himself to be a quick-footed, ranged attacker of the group, doing better against an army of weak enemies rather than one really strong enemy. He is often the source of (terrible) ideas. He does seem to be perpetually annoyed though. He also loves Elvish Ale.
Appearance: Herman's attire obscuring his physical features to the point of his race being hard to tell. He wears a grey metal helmet that covers the top part of his face. The bottom part of his face is covered by green cloth. His metal armor is grey. The gambeson underneath is green. He wears Dark green gloves and dark green pants. He has a leather belt with a golden buckle. He has long metal boots that are grey. The party has not seen his full face but they have seen the lower half of it when he pulls the cloth down to eat and drink. His skin is a sickly pale white.
The recruiter hasn't posted anywhere on the forums since 2/3...doesn't look like an IC thread has been started. I think he might just be away for the moment. I guess we continue to wait.

Well, if you choose to roll, you take the risk of getting (very) low of high rolls. So, to me, it seems strange to chance method halfway.
*clap* well done.

Rolling for stats. Been wanting to play a level 20 character for quite a long time.
6 1 6 2 = 11 -> 14 (After Reroll)
4 4 1 3 = 14
6 4 5 5 = 11
6 6 5 4 = 14
1 6 6 3 = 15
3 3 4 6 = 14 -> 18 (After Reroll)
Re rolling ones:
One: 5
Two: 3
Four: 5
Six: 3
Rerolling again (Six): 1
Final Set: {14, 14, 11, 14, 15, 18} (Now that's some real good stats)
I'm thinking of going for a Ranger/Rogue/Fighter Multiclass. Character will be posted shortly.

Well... he did say his availability is close to 1/week.
Nah, he's definitely given up on the recruitment. Y'all should definitely withdraw and save yourselves the trouble.
;P
Attending Academy until November, slowdown in posts continue.
I've certainly not given up, but haven't had the time to properly pick yet.
By the end of the weekend, I aim to have started the game.
Going to withdrawal...I am at 6 characters and there is another thread I want to apply for that I think will have a pacing that will fit me better.
No more C14-5H3R. Thank you though.

I've contacted the participating players in an OOC chat.
Just to inform those who were not contacted they need not wait.
Well congrats to those chosen! Have fun!
