"Aye, seems like we've earned a proper break, no kobolds interrupting us this time though thank you." Thorrick looks round, as if he's been here before. "Some nice sturdy oaks up ahead, if I'm not mistaken."

“Seems like as good a place as any to stop and make camp for the night and then enter the city in the morning” following Thorrick to the aforementioned oak trees. “I’ll take first watch.”
Irilu places her backpack at the base of one of the oaks, removes the journal, and promptly sits down on the backpack. It is worn and clearly used to serving this purpose.
leaning back against the sturdy oak, she studies the journal’s cover for a time, before opening it up and reading from the first page to the last.
“Seems like as good a place as any to stop and make camp for the night and then enter the city in the morning” following Thorrick to the aforementioned oak trees. “I’ll take first watch.”
A simple, hand-drawn map bearing two recognizable features—Blasingdell south and the Stone Tooth north —is folded inside the journal. An “X” is drawn on the Stone Tooth’s eastern side near the words “Dark Mere” in the same handwriting as that of the journal. The marked location appears to be only a day’s travel east.
Thorrick grumbles at first, and mumbles something about cheese in his half-awake state. Finding another log to sit on, he brings out his pipe and fills it with some moss from his new seat, before lighting it and observing the night around him, greeting the various nocturnal animals that pass within a range requiring courtesy from him.
Irilu holds up the map in an attempt to see it better in the darkness, and a broad smile spreads upon her face like a flower entering its morning bloom. She looks over to her companions... is that snoring coming from Xalkas..? And Thorrick seems quite content puffing on his pipe. She neatly folds the map into her breast pocket, ready to share with her new friends at first light.
Contented, Irilu re-settles herself against the comforting oak and falls into a trance. She rests deeply.
Elves can rest in a trance for 4 hours and have the same benefit as 8 hours of other races' rest.
Thorrick nods to the elf as he pushes what appears to be the last morsel of a small animal into his mouth. Crunching loudly, he swallows, and takes a drink from his waterskin. "Copper coin for your thoughts?", he says, as he nods a second time towards the paper.
Hearing Thorrick speak, Xalkas stirs with one last snore and sits up. “Did I miss anything? I heard something about a copper?” He looks towards Irilu, noticing the parchment in her hand, “I’ll throw in another one if you tell us why your holding that piece of paper.”
"No copper needed,"Irilu grins, "but how does gold sound?"
Irilu beckons her companions close and unfolds the map, pushing flat the creases. She holds it out so that all can see.
"Looks like it could be a treasure map. X marks the spot, see? Oh, it's been so long since I was on a treasure hunt!" The excitement rises in her tone, almost musical. "See, here's Blasingdell, and this is obviously the Tooth. Whatever this "Dark Mere" is, it can't be more than a day from here."Irilu shifts her weight, eager to begin the adventure. She looks at her companions with a mischievous grin, almost daring them to join her.
“Sounds like a plan to me! Provided we have enough rations to not bother with a trip in to town. We could make it most of the way there today, find a sheltered place to camp and then look for this area on the map tomorrow morning.”
"Well it certainly beats being hounded by kobolds for a pittance." Thorrick scratches his beard thoughtfully. "Always wanted to explore the mountain, think I had an ancestor or two that might have spent some time under it... if you're game, then what are we waiting for?"

"I'm used to travelling light; when you don't have much you learn to get by on less. I have no need of going to town for myself," Irilu asserts with confidence. After a moment's thought, she adds, "And, we took this from the kobold. We don't know what their plans are - what if they get there first?"
Irilu studies the map closely and attempts to understand which direction would take them to Dark Mire. She has no compass but attempts to use the position of the sun and the distant Tooth to do this.
Irilu’s fingers trace across the crude map as she looks towards the Tooth and back again. Suddenly, her expression brightens like that of a child in play.
”That way! It is most definitely that way!” she shouts, pointing triumphantly towards the east. “And, hmmm, it might be rather close. Let’s eat on the move.”
As she says this, she whips the map back into her front pocket and deftly grabs some jerky from her backpack, tossing it into the hands of Thorrick and Xalkas. “Home made rabbit jerky. Sorry it’s not more fresh, Thorrick.” She winks playfully.
You are 30 min from Blasingdell, you do not know how many days it is because you don't have the "map" anymore.

You see nothing.

Xalkas walks over to Thorrick “your turn” gently shaking him till he wakes then lays down on the grass and quickly falls to sleep under the trees.

According to the map you can either continue your journey to Blisdell or go treasure hunting
Irilu starts to stir to the sound of pleasant birdsong.
She looks to her companions, the folded piece of paper in hand.

The Dark Mire is east of your camp, about an hour to travel to on foot.
