Zern extends his hands with a grin. "Well then, welcome to the Order of the Gauntlet, Chevall Arnald. Don't worry, you won't have to spend much time with the Vindicator as a Chevall. I'll do my best to line any missions up with the work you're already doing," he says. "Now for my least favorite part. Let's go do some paperwork."

The hole near the ceiling of the sinkhole room is just wide enough for a Medium sized creature - more than comfortable for a Tiny sized lizard. It would be nearly impossible for a creature without the natural ability to climb to reach with the slick walls in the room, but in your wild shape you are able to reach it and follow it to its end, directly above the room where the Black Fists were hiding, where you just were. The floors of the small tunnel are slick and slimy with the same algae as the sinkhole room's walls, but you do not see anything else of interest within it.

You find Karst the ferryman's pockets surprisingly deep, and while attempting to relieve him of his coin, he spins and slaps your hand away with a surprising dexterity. "That'll cost you another gold for the way back, then," he narrows his eyes at you and then walks off mumbling about "helping folks cross and this is the thanks I get".
OOC: Sylyra will not have any trouble hiding the trinkets and getting them off the island the following day, but he has made Karst grumpy, and will have to pay him another gold piece the following day to be ferried back to Thorn Island.
The relighting of the beacon is the talk of the town throughout the following tenday. Rumors abound about the Black Fist guards stationed at the island and the third-party investigation that led to the arrest of that contingent, ranging from talk of sabotage to the Keep itself being haunted. Some say that a member of House Sokol was murdered there, causing an angry spirit to quell the beacon until the mystery had been solved.
Whatever the truth, your accusations against Grim are sufficient enough for the Black Fist to hold him and his men and women to a private trial. The day after leaving Thorn Island, the Black Fist investigation finds sufficient evidence to convict Guard Sergeant Grim of the murder of Igan Sokol. The other Black Fist soldiers are each convicted of lesser crimes, such as theft and dereliction of duty.
One day later, the body of Guard Sergeant Grim dangles from the Stojanow Gate.
OOC: The adventure continues in Shadows Over The Moonsea...
Sometime during the tenday, while the party is together eating a meal or drinking, Sylyra drops the wand of magic detection on the table and says, "This wand is good for detecting magic. Does someone have a particular desire to hold onto it?"
Uragum's eyes would nearly light up. "A wand you say... It's useful to me. Wands have magic and I can use that to focus my other spells without having to grab other components." He pauses for a moment before continuing, "I am capable as is. If someone else can use it then do."
Ola looked at Sylyra with surprise - such an uncharacteristic move for him. But yet again, what does she know. She only shook her head - no, I do not need it, and returned to her meal. Zelra's departure made these gatherings very quiet but she still attended them. It was somewhat calming and reassuring to see Uragum's enthusiasm over another magical bauble - as if nothing changed, and she was grateful for that distraction.
One day in the latter half of the tenday, Sylyra catches Ola alone and says he'd like to eat the evening meal at the Cracked Crown and asks if she's ever eaten there before. He's not flirting or bashful; his tone of voice and body language are confident (in a friendly kind of way) and questioning.
As usual, Ola answered the question asked not intended and said that - no, the inn is too close to the market to her liking, adding though, that as the most expensive - according to it's reputation - it might as well be good, and Sylyra would have a good time there.
In response to Ola's breezy rebuff, Sylyra turns on the charm just a hair as a byproduct of his amusement. "It is the most expensive, and I do have a good time, but I find eating alone to be a bit of a bore. Would you be interested ... willing to dine with me on my purse?"
"Oh," Ola's absently polite look became a bit more attentive, "it was an invitation. I did not realize". For a moment she looked as if she is contemplating a courteous decline but then nodded with a half-smile. "You purse will be in no danger. Though I am afraid my company might not be very entertaining. If a quiet presence would not spoil your dinner, I would gladly accompany you."
In regards to the wand. With Ola turning it down, Uragum would graciously accept it. He would take the moment to run an appreciate hand across it and call out for a round of drink for him and his friends.
Sylyra's amused smile remains. He gives the female a courteous nod. "Your presence is my only request. Have you something appropriate to wear? If not, I could do a little shopping for you."
Sylyra could be proud of himself - he managed to get Ola's complete and undivided attention, a very rare event and strong demonstration of the power of amazement. Mother was probably right to a degree - city elves customs were indeed ... peculiar. Ola tilted her head a bit: "Sylyra, may I ask who are you trying to impress in a minuscule dwarven town, known only for its stubborn refusal to disappear from the surface of the earth and for its proximity to the Quivering Forest? Unless they are holding some grand event down there, even casual elegant would be a severe overdressing".
"Also... I do not want to sound patronizing, but never insult a woman that is neither related to you, nor owned by you with a suggestion to dress her up. It is incredibly inappropriate. Do hope you did not mean such disrespect."
Her tone became even again: "If it is so important to you, you will get my presence in "something appropriate". But whoever it is you want to amaze ... he, she or they are not worth the effort, and doubtfully would react the way you want them to."
By the time they had to go she was ready, dressed - not in a ball gown, of course, but in a fine attire of deep blue and black, decorated with silvery grey embroidery, as everything in her possession of the highest quality and not of the local craft.
Sylyra maintains steady eye contact with the genasi throughout her eloquent speech. He does not make light of her words, nor does he cow to them. He digests her words, and when given the opportunity, replies with what could be construed as respect, "If you are half as entertaining over supper as you are right now, this should prove to be a most enjoyable evening. It matters not who nor where nor why, only that it satisfies ... me."
OOC: I told Barty we don't need to RP the dinner and am letting him decide if anything further needs to happen.
The quiet, polite atmosphere of the Cracked Crown would be disconcerting and unnerving to some adventurers, those used to the brawls of the Laughing Goblin or the chatter and laughter of Madame Freona's Tea Kettle. Here, the more traditionally sophisticated members of Phlan's high society and nobility, what little of it remains, dine and drink.
A few eyes take in the newcomers. The reaction is mixed - scoffs from some, mirth from others, and nonplussed looks from the rest. The meal choices for the evening (caviar, steak tartare, and fresh bread) are a far cry from the cabbage stew of The Laughing Goblin, though some might say it lacks the character of that establishment.
The two of you enjoy a quiet dinner, away from the events beneath the West Tower of Sokol Keep.
OOC: Removed 1 extra gp from Sylyra's inventory for the one dinner at a higher expense level than The Laughing Goblin.
