Diomedes sketches down the runes on the trees that surround the glade they are in.
Draskan has the right of it I fear; they could be anywhere on this plane or spirited away to another. We should return to town and try to find someone adept at reading the runes. The particular combination might reveal something more about the destination. Unless Belarus can shed any light on this? Perhaps he has heard more of the Rakshasa.
If not, we should leave without further delay. I will take the reins, I am quite well rested.
Rollo is able to comprehend the arcane significance of the runic markings inscribed in the trees. They create a semi permanent teleportation circle, and if he were ever to dabble in spell casting and become powerful enough to cast Teleportation Circle or Teleport he would be able to return to this circle using the runic signature. Unfortunately without having that level of knowledge or arcane power no one present is able to power that kind of spell. It also gives no indication of the target location. Belris spits on the floor in disgust. Nay I have no knowledge of these spells nor of the Raksasha’s intended plan. I shall return to my order and seek guidance there. If I learn anything I shall contact you friend Diomedes via a sending or message spell. Return to the city and your original tasks for now. I shall speak to you soon.
Lets get back to town. They probably have friends there. Perhaps we'll catch up with them some other time. And in the meantime, maybe we can catch up with the friends...
The journey back to town only takes a few hours and you enter through the Wood Gate and into the Wooden Quarter. You have 4 hours until the lightning train is due to arrive to take you to Atur so if you wish to ask some questions around town you have some time. (Leowin can try to make contact with the local thieves guild thanks to his background, Draskan and Rollo can speak to the guards for a similar reason)
Leowin, if you are making enquiries in the area, keep an ear to the ground about a smuggling ring called The Circulatory System. They are known to operate out of Atur, but I'm sure their reach spreads further. Tread lightly.
It doesn’t take long for Leowin to spot the signs of the local thieves guild (Thieves Cant language used) and for him to follow the relevant graffiti to an information broker. Heading down a dank alleyway which suddenly opens up into a small courtyard Leowin spots a door to a small shop, with two halfling thugs stood outside of it.
The halflings nod along as Leowin blathers away in Thieves Can’t. Aye for a colleague the boss will always make time. The left hand one knocks twice on the door and after a pause opens it to let you in. As you enter you see an elderly halfling sat at a hearth, smoking from a long thin pipe, he is wearing a smoking jacket embroidered with the crest of House Boromar. Aah greetings, I was not expecting company but you must have made a compelling case to my employees to get in. Who are you and how can I be of assistance?
Hey. Good to meet you. I'm Leowin. From Throneport, originally. But I left there. I came here looking to catch up with some bad types. Claiming to be followers of the Traveller, but actually taking other people's kids for their own, and... well... it ain't pretty. You know the people I mean? Living in that mansion just outside town?

How do you propose we find them? They could have teleported anywhere. I say we head back to the city, shall we?

Rollo takes a quick look at the tunes, to see if he can make sense of them written down...

Leowin swears softly under his breath.

Rollo speaks to the guards to see if they’ve heard any rumours
Leowin starts making his way around the town, looking for the local thieves' guild.
Investigation 19
It doesn’t take long for Leowin to spot the signs of the local thieves guild (Thieves Cant language used) and for him to follow the relevant graffiti to an information broker. Heading down a dank alleyway which suddenly opens up into a small courtyard Leowin spots a door to a small shop, with two halfling thugs stood outside of it.
Leowin approaches the two halflings.
In thieves cant: Hey. Can a friend come in to take a load off?

Eoni meanwhile heads to an enchanters and pays 200GP to get the items recovered identified. The potion is Potion of Clairvoyance and the glasses are Eyes of Minute Seeing
Leowin nods in greeting to the halfling.
