"This is strange," Tierra whispers. "I've never seen fog act like this before, and so suddenly."She feels the fog, trying to figure out if it was natural or magical in nature.
Priest just finds his hand drifting to his mace as his companions begin to make comments about the fog. His posture taking on more alertness as he begins to pivot occasionally to look behind them and around them "Do you think something maybe doing this? You all seem to raise some concern about this fog."
"Something or someone, though it has eased up in the past few moments." Belmarm comments, noting the pools now as well as the trees. "Or perhaps a phenomenon of the area?" He huffs. "Continue forward, all the same, but keep those weapons out. This may not be the only surprise awaiting us on this road." He warily adds while urging people on forward.

Tierra notices that while the fog does have some sort of magic to it it also seems to be natural to the land around you. As the party continues along the trail the fog lets up more and more but is still behind them. The sounds of a Forrest do slowly return but sound as if they are muffled as if far in the distance.

"Ah, see. Much better. It was just a matter of putting one foot before the other."Belmarm declared cheerily. Although the oddity of the fog warranted one last glance back at the curtain, he hardly slows for more than that before picking up the pace once more.

The next five hours pass in relative peace and the fog lessens more so that the party can see normally once more although the light of the sun is obscured by a cloud ridden sky.
You do see this however in front of you.
The fog spills out of the forest to swallow up the road behind you. Ahead, jutting from the impenetrable woods on both sides of the road, are high stone buttresses looming gray in the fog. Huge iron gates hang on the stonework. Dew clings with cold tenacity to the rusted bars. Two headless statues of armed guardians flank the gate, their heads now lying among the weeds at their feet. They greet you only with silence.

Falzaren will move over to one of the fallen heads, "How long must they have stood watch to fall into such disrepair? Perhaps one day they will be restored to guard this gate once more."
The gates and statue look to be perhaps decades of even centuries old. Despite clear signs of disrepair the structure looks as if it could hold off a siege. It is more then strange to see it in such a random place as it looks more like it would belong as the gates of a large keep or city.
You have heard of such gates but the talk of them came from an unnamed man that was thought to be mad as he only spoke in a strange language that one needed magic to understand.
