You look around and realize that the trail you have beat down through the tall grass will eventually lead the goblins to spot you. There are some large, wild rose bushes that you all can hide behind.
Umbriel motions Droop forward, then says to the group "We heard that Droop's clan lived somewhere around here - maybe he can take a look and either intercede on our behalf, or if he isn't familiar with them, at least tell us if there are more we should be watching for on the flanks. If diplomacy fails, I have a large area spell I think will work."
Droop shakes his head. "My goblins sold me to nasty bugbears. Won't listen to me. Capture me and sell me again. Eat our horse!"
Umbriel will take Pale and the cart, and try to hide behind the bushes - Stealth 9 - if at disadvantage because of the cart and stuff, here's a second roll - 10
He'll also ready Shatter for when he can target the biggest number of goblins in a ten foot radius.
Droop, Rosie and Whistler manage to get the group still and quiet enough to hide behind the wild rose bushes so that the first goblins to crest the hill doesn't see you.

When the first row gets within range, Baeshra and Umbriel let loose with their readied spells! A sphere of flames erupts right in front of the first line of goblins, catching G1, G2 and G3. Dex saves (3, 18, 18).
A loud ringing noise erupts behind them, catching G1, G2, G4, and G5. Con saves: (5, 11, 6, 2).
The goblins know they are under attack now, everyone roll initiative and take your turn if it is higher than the goblin's initiative:

On his turn, Umbriel will target G2 (or G5, if G2 is dead) and cast another Shatter - a thin, cruel grin spreads across his face as he watches the goblins shriek and cover their ears. Con save of 13, or they take 17 thunder damage, half on a pass.
G1, G2 and G5 don't even have time to cover their ears, they stiffen up and fall to the ground, dead. G4 shrieks and covers his ears.
Umbriel's second spell goes off and encompasses G4, G7 and G8. G4 drops immediately. G7 and G8 Con Save: 15, 9. G8 keels over, dead as well. G7 covers his ears and cries out in pain.
Lyngheid summoned the symbol of her goddess and set it sweeping over the grass towards the goblins, rather hoping the wretched things would just run away witht eh array of magic being wielded against them.

Baeshra is the only one that sees where they ended up. The rest of you can target where they shot from with area effect spells, or direct ranged attacks to a location that Baeshra shouts.

Interesting. The grass is not super dry, but not real wet either. At the end of your turn roll a d20, 1-13 and that square catches fire. Others it does not. Once a square is on fire for a turn, I will roll for the neighboring squares to see which ones the fire spreads to.
