Darren jumps up and shoves the guard hard; he rolled a 5, so is pushed back, teeters on the brink, then drops down from the tower, taking 6 points of bludgeoning damage as he lands, swearing, prone on the ground below.
Alton and Balassar are up. Anything else from Darren?
Hearing the guard tumble and fall. Darren goes through the gate to try and keep the guard pinned to the ground. (Though I understand if that’s too much for one turn)
(Would climbing be considered an action or just part of movement? I figured there would be an obvious way up. A ladder perhaps. Or a door leading to the interior of the tower)
Darren, there's a ladder on this side, so you can climb using only your movement, if you have enough.
Balassar, you climb the ladder to the other tower using your movement - it's more a wooden platform than a tower, really - so you still have your action if you wish to use it.
(Sorry for the confusion Steve. No climbing for Darren. I was more curious about the resolution to Balassar’s action. Though I would like to pin the other guard to the ground this turn if possible. If not then get ready to do so next turn.)
Please roll Balassar's attacks in the game log, accessible from the campaign page here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/campaigns/940573. Advantage on the first attack from being invisible.
(As you can see, the dice roller in the forum threads continues to be awful.)
Darren can't pin the guy this turn; if you had extra attack you could attempt a grapple but I don't think you have enough levels in Fighter)

Sounds good rolled a 14 and 22 for first one and a 26 for second. Damage roll was 7 for first, 5 for second and 4 for giants strength damage.
(Just to note if Balassar is attacking Guard 2, who is paralyzed by the hold person spell, then any attack roll against the creature has advantage and the attack is a critical hit if the attacker is within 5 feet of the creature.)
Alton moves past the gate and into the courtyard, holding his hand crossbow at the ready with his finger on the trigger.
Movement: moves up 30 feet into the outpost Action: Holds firing his hand crossbow until there is another threat that appears

That's right, so all damage die are doubled, which I make as 22 total. He's still alive, but that was a bad beating from a massive dragonborn who just popped into existence right by him. Not a great day for Guard 2 who is, of course, still paralysed.
Guard 3 runs out of the door, followed by two more. Alton, this will trigger your crossbow attack.
Straight through some inexpensive-looking leather armour, the bolt sinks deep into the guard's flesh.
Guard 3 has dashed out and can do no more this turn. Guards 4 and 5 are more wary, and are taking the dodge while they assess the situation.
Guard 1 jumps up in quite an impressive athletic move and strikes against Darren. He swings his mace twice, connecting once (14 against AC for 4 bludgeoning damage, but rolls a nat 1 on his second attack and hits a passing wasp.
Swin sees the incoming, and then shrugs, resigning herself to the situation.
She says, "give up your prisoners, and no one has to die. This is your last warning." She moves toward guard 3 in an attempt to hit them and guard 4 with frost fingers for 7 cold damage on a failed CON 16 save. I think she can get them without getting within melee of guard 3, but even if not, she uses her bonus action to hidden step again, and goes invisible. She then spends the rest of her 40 ft movement to get closer to the door of the main building.

(Steve, if the guard was able to swing a mace at Darren. Could I try and pull him off the tower over the wall?)
OOC:
Can Balassar see guard 3 from post #5900? Just curious if that guard is still there.
(Post 5917 says he ran into a building calling out about intruders.)
Darren could try, yes. He's within melee range of you, and was leaning down and over to reach you.
Guard 3 is indeed inside the building.
Darren tries to force the guard above him off the tower.

Seeing no one in the courtyard anymore Balassar will move to climb the second tower that still has a guard on top of it.

Balassar just swings at the guard as soon as he climbs up the tower as the words "Boo" slip from his lips his blade coming down.
